You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Anyone remember ‘North and South’? I used to watch it with my mum and wish I’d marry Patrick Swayze.

I rather like Matt Baynton actually Blush
sherrystrull · 16/02/2021 19:11

Patrick Swayze! I loved Point Break

GuyFawkesDay · 16/02/2021 19:12

Oh no, I don't like any of these. Sorry.

I did watch Dirty Dancing again and I did see what others could see but I definitely didn't at the time.

I like them twinkling and boyish with a bit of a cheeky streak. Ewan McGregor, for example. James McAvoy. Leo Di C then but definitely not now.

I cannot fathom Tom Hardy love at all .

GuyFawkesDay · 16/02/2021 19:18

I don't get the Tom Hardy thing. He's also short.

My sister works in film/TV and it's interesting who she says all the girls swoon over in real life!!

Saucery · 16/02/2021 19:19

My class go mad for Horrible Histories when it’s Wet Play Lunch. One of many reasons why my class are fabulous.

@Piggywaspushed

What book did your finsih beach? Because of THREE HOUR LAPTOP work today and making batch after batch of pancakes , I have not finished my very long book. Tomorrow's task...
The Last of the Tsars. It was recommended by someone I know and didn't disappoint!
JanFebAnyMonth · 16/02/2021 19:25

James McAvoy piggy, yessss. Shameless anyone?

Beachhuts90 · 16/02/2021 19:26

I meant to add, I am interested in what everyone else is enjoying reading. I have about 25 books here at home I haven't read yet but with bookshops shut that is actually quite a small number, for me!

ChloeDecker · 16/02/2021 19:26

DH and I are currently loving the new tv series 80s revival of the Karate Kid on Netflix in all its cheesy 80s glory! Lots of nostalgia there. Has made me appreciate the the ‘montage’ again Grin

GuyFawkesDay · 16/02/2021 19:29

McAvoy, also tres short. I don't do short men. I do appreciate the twinkle though. Ewan McGregor has it (another short one 🙄).

Apparently the twinkle King is Greg Wise. Very down to earth, very witty and has all the ladies on set wrapped round his little finger.

Piggywaspushed · 16/02/2021 19:30

I don't mind short : Tom Cruise in his heyday would do me just fine.

My friend adored the slightly drippy hero of Pretty In Pink : Andrew thingy. Mainly because he seemed so earnest.

ChloeDecker · 16/02/2021 19:30

Lucky Emma then Grin

chocolateisavegetable · 16/02/2021 19:31

Beach I've just finished the Thursday Murder Club. What sort of thing do you normally read?

ChloeDecker · 16/02/2021 19:31

Oh no, I was devastated Ducky lost out to that wet drip Andrew McCarthy way back when!

ChloeDecker · 16/02/2021 19:33

Speaking of Cruise, still love watching A Few Good Men. He seemed to go down hill after that though.

“You can’t handle the truth!”

JanFebAnyMonth · 16/02/2021 19:36

JMcV was so gorgeous in Shameless that I forgave his lack of height! As did Ann Marie Duff.

My bf lived in his mum’s granny flat at the end of her garden - she never managed to spy him visiting sadly
