You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

I think we should just look at Chris and enjoy the fact that I've just marked an essay which begins "Slut! slag! Whore!"
They always use the rude words in this one.

JanFebAnyMonth · 16/02/2021 17:34

Ah, maybe it was yesterday at 16:33, noble ...
(Sorry!)

Appuskidu · 16/02/2021 17:34

@JanFebAnyMonth

Sorry if it was me, I know I've mentioned other threads a few times. But no specific posters, we've all been very careful I thought. Do you think we should ask lily/MNHQ what they meant??
I’m intrigued as well. Are we allowed to talk about themes of other threads in general but not mention particular threads, posts or posters?
JanFebAnyMonth · 16/02/2021 17:34

(Are we allowed to discuss being told off??)

SmileEachDay · 16/02/2021 17:37

Mrs

You would enjoy my y10 analysis of the protagonist in “Lamb to the Slaughter” which (in the chat box on Teams) was “she’s a legend” “slaughtering the patriarchy” and “She’s done that before”

Council wildflower verges sound lush.

JanFebAnyMonth · 16/02/2021 17:39

We should hang our heads. Apparently the Trump threads have had academic papers written about how wonderfully supportive they all are, and how they don't conform to SM genderlect. (Preens as uses new-found word, hopefully!)

MrsHamlet · 16/02/2021 17:39

We're definitely not allowed to talk about other threads. Or specific posters.
I don't know if we're allowed to talk about being told off.

JanFebAnyMonth · 16/02/2021 17:40

The thing is, we shouldn't exist qua Republic....

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 16/02/2021 17:40

I don’t know, but I’m beginning to think it’s less about threads posters and more about U4T.

That’s a seriously hair trigger piece of moderation considering the complete lack of moderation on the Covid boards. And I can’t see any obvious reason for it from the last couple of days posts.

I’ll just report my own post for deletion now, shall I?

JanFebAnyMonth · 16/02/2021 17:40

GrinRafals

MrsHamlet · 16/02/2021 17:41

That sounds great smile
The local residents do not agree about the verges. Mind you, they're upset at the moment at the proposal to build on a strip of land which will impede their view of "the hill".
Said hill is actually the grassed over bit of the tip.

OpheliasCrayon · 16/02/2021 17:42

MN being bit dictatorial imo

It's a thread of the same people , following 46 other threads if the same people.

The same people have partially discussed a thread on another board that was unnecessarily harsh to our profession as a whole.

No one else is commenting on this thread other than us. .. what the hell does it matter if we mention chairs or whatever their problem is ....

I would more wonder why when I reported a thread about mental health to MN whereby someone wrote something unbelievably derogatory it was completely ignored by MNHQ and left up... Yet they have a problem with this. Think MN need to look at their own standards a little, because what with that and their tendancy to just delete threads they don't like the theme of.... I don't rate MNs standards one bit

CallmeAngelina · 16/02/2021 17:43

Well, my kitchen drawers have never BEEN so tidy.

noblegiraffe · 16/02/2021 17:44

Thank fuck for that, ange.

chocolateisavegetable · 16/02/2021 17:45

@CallmeAngelina

Well, my kitchen drawers have never BEEN so tidy.
Chris is very proud of you Star
Mistressiggi · 16/02/2021 17:45

Hmm, well I mentioned UFT earlier today - but I can't see how I'm not allowed to mention a facebook page while on a mumsnet thread (if that is what the problem was)

fuckweasel · 16/02/2021 17:46

@HercwasanEnemyofEducation

Anyone following the Scottish plan? Interesting anyone involved in grading gets £400 one off payment. As a blunt reward and acknowledgement of the time taken it's a good thing.
And two days allocated to 'assessment support' so we can moderate etc. We are doing authority moderation between different schools then I think SQA may do some sampling too. Finer details being published 'in due course'; which will be way too late knowing SQA.
Mistressiggi · 16/02/2021 17:46

Ooh is it the chairs, I missed the chairs.

SmileEachDay · 16/02/2021 17:46

I think it was probably the discussing of potential/future threads.

MrsHamlet · 16/02/2021 17:47

Chris is very proud of you
You've got to prove it choc

noblegiraffe · 16/02/2021 17:49

Republican regulars are allowed to call me a deranged child-hater by the way. Just for the record.

All sorted now.

Saucery · 16/02/2021 17:50

I lightly browse the CV board sometimes and yesterday I saw several thinly-veiled sideswipes at teachers, this thread and individual posters on it. I’d feel like a petty fuckwit if I reported them, so I didn’t. Obviously, some people feel differently

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 16/02/2021 17:52

@Mistressiggi

Hmm, well I mentioned UFT earlier today - but I can't see how I'm not allowed to mention a facebook page while on a mumsnet thread (if that is what the problem was)
That’s kind of what I mean. MN isn’t actively moderated so somebody has to have reported the thread in order for MN to have intervened.

As far as I can see, nothing has been deleted for breaking talk guidelines, but it would help if they gave us a clue.

chocolateisavegetable · 16/02/2021 17:52

@CallmeAngelina

Well, my kitchen drawers have never BEEN so tidy.
Chris recorded this just for you:

Got it MrsH

Appuskidu · 16/02/2021 17:53

It’s odd that the reason for coming to tell us off was that if we mention other posters, this thread would become derailed.

Isn't it obvious that we only get derailed about things like chairs, Hemsworths and heat lamps!
