On the front of a women's weekly magazine it says Meghan is saying to Charles that he can't ignore them forever...

I feel sorry for the kids. I hope it doesn't end badly.

This is presumably the invention of the magazine, though, not something Meghan has publicly said.

Probably more clickbait, Don'tLive, but now you're making me think of Glenn Close ... "I'm not going to be ignored" Grin

Anyone happen to know if Charles eats rabbit ... ?

In other news Meghan did not turn up to the daytime Emmy Awards show on 30th October to collect the award her show did not win for Outstanding Lifestyle Show. It went to this instead. Sorry if I missed this already.

I'm not sure she will have to talk to the IOPC. The Met cock-up that involves her is non-compliance with GDPR, and the IOPC has batted that back to the Met to investigate.

The IOPC enquiry is specific: it's about the failure of the Met to act on the allegations of CSA by sharing the letter with police forces in other jurisdictions. That doesn't involve Meghan at all.

I thought it was also about the fact that the Met revealed the letter to a third party.

And, given that they can't identify who this was, the DIL of the HoS might help them out.

I reckon Junior masterchef was signed before the latest excrement dump. However, it should be pulled. Terrible optics

Yes it is . Awkward.

There is a petition to have her removed from the show

Why would Meg dodging questions by FBI? She hasn't committed a crime.

That we know of.

It's not her fault her father is possibly a sex abuser but the ongoing enquiry is awkward.

The IOPC has referred the matter of the sharing of the letter back to the Met. The job for the Met is to find out why procedure wasn't followed. As the ultimate recipient of the copy letter, I can't see how Meghan would be much help. It's the person who gave the letter to the RPO who's in the frame.

She has difficulty getting stories straight. A grilling by an experienced interviewer is not something she would welcome.

The RPO is still a professional. My understanding (I may be wrong) is that the data protection issue relates rather to sharing the letter with Meghan.

Absolutely not but she'd have a lawyer with her if questioned

What if this RPO comes out and said absolutely they did not advise Meghan to keep it quiet or whatever her latest suggestion was ?

And nobody at the Met knows who that is, so MM can help.

Why wouldn't she? She is the key witness here.

That's my understanding too. But the RPO will have been given the letter by a back-offce person, surely. It's the person who made the decision to share the letter outside the force who's at fault, not the RPO, who is only the messenger.

Cismyfatarse · Yesterday 19:14

Was the letter addressed to Meghan and intercepted or addressed to the police snd then shown to her? Surely if a letter arrives which contains allegations, one way to determine nutter / worth investigating was to ask her?

Not defending her lies. They are many. But the whole thing just doesn’t add up.

I think that’s been referred back to the Met as an internal investigation so nothing to do with the IOPC.

That brings Meghan's credibility into question, but is a different matter to the investigation regarding data processing.

AlexandraCarrington · Yesterday 19:29

The RPO might have advised that M shouldn't make any public statement, and now she's spinning that to suit herself.

I can't keep up with all the twisting and turning. But it seems the one thing she has never done at any point is seek legal advice.

She would. The lawyer's job would be to help her get her story straight before the interviewer. An interesting challenge for a lawyer to work with a client known for fabrication.

Well quite. Any lawyer would be working very hard for his / her payment. Assume Sherbourne has blocked HAM ?

We don't yet know who made that decision.

The Met Police statement says:
the letter came in to FTAC, within Protection Command.
it was assessed.
it was 'subsequently passed to the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex'.

We don't know how many people or steps were involved in that process.

Meghan says
'a letter was sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection. That letter was subsequently shared with me.'

She now says that an RPO told her the issues were being investigated and that she should keep quiet.

Interesting point about Sherbourne. I don't know. Presumably Meghan ignores the advice of her lawyers just as she ignores the advice of all her other advisers.
