Was the letter addressed to Meghan and intercepted or addressed to the police snd then shown to her? Surely if a letter arrives which contains allegations, one way to determine nutter / worth investigating was to ask her?

Not defending her lies. They are many. But the whole thing just doesn’t add up.

The letter was addressed to the Fixated Threats Assessment Centre at Protection Command at the Met Police.

According to one of the recent Times articles, it contained details of each of the Markle family members, suggesting why they would cause issues for the Sussexes.

In other news Meghan did not turn up to the daytime Emmy Awards show on 30th October to collect the award her show did not win for Outstanding Lifestyle Show. It went to this instead. Sorry if I missed this already.

It has, but I hadn't seen that graphic.

You really couldn't make it up- I don't think being beaten by a low rent dog training program was exactly what she was hoping for.

Hello are describing their story as "A royal world exclusive", which is odd phrasing. It's almost as though it could be someone who's not associated with the Briitsh royal family but another royal family.

The ad, as it appears on Instagram, is strange. It looks a bit like a punk fashion photo shoot. Maybe a figure with a baby bump? Appears to be outdoors.

It really doesn't give a Sussex vibe.

How utterly bizarre.

I think that’s been referred back to the Met as an internal investigation so nothing to do with the IOPC.

So it would be the Met, not the IOPC, that she'd be co-operating with. Same question, different organisation - why wouldn't she want to tell them everything she knows, help shed light on a murky sequence of events?

My tuppence worth. She knew in 2019 via this letter but most likely had inkling before. Hence she cut him off to save her image. There was a huge backlash against her when TM was very ill in the Philippines, leg amputation. She sent him a letter along with an NDA. This letter made a threat along the lines, "if you don't back off, stop leaking etc, I will tell the world you abuse little girls". I think Meg assumed (hoped) TM would pass away in Philippines but is now alive and kicking (no pun intended) and she's terrified he will reveal contents of her letter. Why would he give a toss about an NDA at this stage ?

Edited

She cut him off the year before though in 2018 - so her timeline makes no sense.

In 2021 she also gave a gushing interview to Oprah about being a daddy's girl and blaming the royal family/press (delete as appropriate) for destroying her relationship with her father - so her timeline makes no sense

In 2025 she sent a very performative handwritten letter to her father which was delivered and filmed by US Embassy lawyers - which makes no sense

However - I did read on a blind gossip site a few years ago around 2023/24 if IIRC that she was planning a book/documentary exposé of her father to be produced after his death when there was no risk of being sued. Suddenly the breadcrumbing of letters etc makes a lot more sense. But she is mad that her brother beat her to it.

Thanks for bringing this back to the basics - as in, MM lied for years about the press being the reason she and daddy were estranged (while pushing an agenda of media censorship).

And also pushed feminist and child-protection agendas while not following up on any investigation into her dad's alleged proclivities, what he might be up to in the Philippines, and whether anyone there might be aware that he allegedly posed a danger to children.

But calling up senators - hi, this is the Duchess if Sussex - to lobby for paternity leave...

And Gloria Steinam has been properly Markled for me.

Plenty of reasons. For starters: Who stayed at the house? How old were they? How often did TMs senior stay away? Which adults visited the house? Did Meghan stay with other people while he father stayed at their home? To delve into the very questions you ask about the FTAC and Roslyn's choice to write to them.

Allegedly, the FBI do want to interview Meghan. Why do you think that might be?

If you have specialist knowledge of how police investigations are likely to be conducted in a case like this, please share it.

It is like some people have never watched a police procedural.

Surely the letter was addressed to the Metropolitan Police generally and then forwarded internally to the Fixated Peeps dept once the crazed contents had been read? "Fixated persons" don't think they are fixated. They wouldn't send letters there, I know they are generally considered to be bonkers, but not THAT bonkers 😅
If the letter really was addressed to that dept then it would immediately set alarm bells ringing as a hoax or set up, surely?

She's a witness. What did she know, how long has she known it, why didn't she say anything before? who else knew? who gave her the letter and when and what did she do with it and who else did she tell?

This could get a lot messier for her.

He was effectively cut off long before 2018. The last time she is known to have seen him is Thanksgiving 2016. H has never met him.

Is the woman shown in a beige dress and a brown cardigan not pregnant? My guess is Harriet Sterling is pregnant and her teen daughter is in a goth phase as the second person shown is in black. Peter probably asked the king if he wanted to announce the pregnancy officially via Buckingham Palace and Charles said no so Peter has sold the news to the highest bidder.

You have to go low contact with the people who know you best when you have totally reinvented yourself and your life story to snare a man / title. If your two worlds collide then it’s game over.

If there were any credible allegations in the letter then the Met would have notified the appropriate authorities abroad in 2019. It's only informing foreign authorities now because this has become a public matter and it wants to cover itself.

Even if there are credible allegations in the letter, they are nothing to do with Meghan and she is highly unlikely to have anything pertinent to say. Same with Thomas Markle Sr's other two children and surviving ex-wife.

If Roslyn Loveless had any credible allegations, she could have alerted the FBI or Filipino or Thai police herself. She was enterprising enough to contact the Met about, among many other things, an allegation about certain activity in other jurisdictions, so I don't see why she wouldn't have been enterprising enough to contact law enforcement in her own country or in the countries where the alleged activity took place.

There are credible allegations of CSA against MM'sdad.

As a DD who lived for several years as a child with him as a sole parent, her account of those years is highly pertinent. And, as a feminist who advocates for child safety, MM should be keen to share her knowledge with the authorites.

ETA she should now be co-operating with the investigation into her dad. Leaving aside the moral aspects, it is bad PR not to.

Interesting point about Sherbourne. I don't know. Presumably Meghan ignores the advice of her lawyers just as she ignores the advice of all her other advisers.

Ignores the advice of everyone else except for Kevin who the met can't track down...

It may be none of our business but it really amazes me. M has talked and written about many aspects of her childhood and youth but this glaring oddity is somehow passed over. It’s such a rarity for a mother to leave a young child with the father for years - and clearly TM was no model husband, which makes it even more bizarre. I’m not suggesting that Doria knew then of his alleged CSA, but looking at M’s record for talking about herself and her challenges in life I find it strange that she has never touched on the weirdness of this, including D’s reappearance in her adult life.

Rockyroadminibites · Yesterday 20:47

I’m still getting my head around the idea that the graves of HMTLQ and PP were considered a good location for a Markle family photoshoot.
