Very shoddy

Especially as Sun journalists colluded with rummaging through the boxes and photographing them BEFORE the devices were handed to police

I was only partially joking about needing mulder and scully! ….after the complete disregard to the evidence…it’s going to need some specialist “spooky “ investigation to find anything that will stand up in court!!!

Don’t laugh but I’m seeing you in some sort of Agatha Christie …clue …thing …..or more modern …knifes out!!!

I wanted Mrs Ariadne Oliver for a username, but it was already taken.

You are who you think you are! …I will call you Oliver from now on!

( mainly because I might not spell the other correctly! 😳)

Hopefully everything will become clearer once the IOPC investigation is complete - I fear I am being somewhat optimistic in that statement though.

My fear is the Met (not that I am a great fan of them) will take a lot of the flack for the mistakes they made and HAM will become very much they were wronged.

Have the MET definitely referred themselves to the IOPC? I thought they were just “considering” it and if they do will the outcome be made public does anyone know?

@AutumnCrowOnTheUFO I wanted to respond to your comment on the last thread but it ran out, I too am very irritated at the brainless journalists who have seemed to be incapable of looking back at timelines and events and instead are peddling the poor Meghan narrative, the incompetence of so called journalists is enraging, and then wonder why people are turning away from the MSM, they are a complete embarrassment, us on here can run rings around the lot of them, they either have the memories of a goldfish or are fully paid up members of the Sussex WhatsApp group, talking of which Charlotte G String has been remarkably quiet unless I’ve missed it?

This is yet another unknown in this story full of holes. As far as I know, the Met are still investigating themselves and have yet to decide whether to refer themselves to the IOPC. It seems they haven’t got much further yet than asking Meg for an unverified copy of a possibly undated letter.

ETA: and last I heard of Charlotte Gstring, she was on YouTube pretending to feel sorry for Meg about her father.

Edited

They likely won’t because the letter wasn’t considered credible. Meghan has put herself in a real bind with her statement. Either she thought it was credible and did nothing or she didn’t find it believable and has used it to justify her choice to remain estranged from her father.

The truly sad part is that Meghan needed no further justification and owed no one an explanation. His public behaviour toward her was horrible.

So are we thinking the 2019 letter was given to Meghan, which is why the Met don't have a copy?

Perhaps because she insisted she didn't want it or any copies kept in their files as it was intensely personal, which I can well imagine her doing?

Now 7 years later, she stated she received a letter in 2018 to tie in with the CSA material found in the Philippines, perhaps thinking she can use it as a reason for cutting off her Dad after the wedding, BUT the Met did keep a record of having received a letter and the date?

Hence Meghan reportedly sharing the letter with the Met herself as they couldn't find it but having to backtrack on the year.

We can then assume the letter Meghan has is conveniently undated and we will never know for sure if it was the ACTUAL letter or who wrote it!

Interestingly, here is an interview featuring the ex wife alongside Samantha Markle's teenage daughter from April 2018 (half way down the article). So a month before the wedding. She doesn't have much to say against Thomas Snr. It looks like Meghan's PR machine had definitely got to them by then which was 9 months before the letter!

Meghan Markle's teenage niece has leapt to the defence of her aunt as relatives desperately squabble for an invite to the Royal wedding in Windsor next month.

Agree. Someone far wittier than me coined the term "churnalism".

No fact checking, just publishing whatever PR is received as quickly as possible!

Interesting how Samantha and Thomas Jnr moved to live with Thomas Snr as teenagers with Samantha alleging their mother (Loveless) was an abusive drunk with a drug addict husband and they had a chaotic homelife.

Thomas's ex seems very focused on what her grand daughter is saying and strangely it mirrors what Samantha has said about her mother! It's quite common for toxic family members to accuse their victims of what they've done themselves, having had personal experience.

No matter what their family issues, I think it's quite sickening they are airing their dirty laundry about a daughter and mother like that to side with Meghan who is no relation to Loveless at all and an aunt to the daughter who would only have seen Meghan through Samantha.

Neither got an invite to the wedding for all that, did they?

It seems the daughter didn't move out of Samantha's home until she was 17/18 so almost an adult. She said she moved in with her father (just like her mother did!) but was living with her grandmother at the time of the interview. I wonder why?

Weren't we lead to believe Samantha's kids were raised by their fathers?

Watching that, I thank GOD that I didn't let my kids have any contact with MY toxic mother!

As we know, the Met gave the letter to the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The employees of this office allegedly signed NDA agreements. What happens if one of them has a crisis and shows up at the Met clutching the actual letter which they had not filed. Can they break the NDA?

MeghanAndTheSeals · Today 05:55

Am dumping this here from a post I did on another thread tonight, just because I cba to formulate again! Please excuse the formatting, I’m still getting used to using the app as I’ve given up on the glitchy website (which is a whole different thread 😂)

I can’t even with the lengthy word salad posts right now. Just to boil it down.

Nobody expects Meghan to have been a crime fighter, detective, sleuth or whatever dismissive terms have been flung about over the last few days. Whatever way you break it down, it’s really quite simple.

Point 1 - Meghan was told something so awful 7/8 years ago and she cut contact with TM (I’m keeping it simple here and ignoring the fact that she’d already cut contact with him). She’s told it’s being investigated. In the following years there’s the “leaked” letter to her dad (which involved a court case), many interviews/tv shows that I cba to list, H taking the blame for the rift, direct quotes blaming the media. Yes, she got flak over time for the perceived treatment of him - that flak was a result of the narrative that both HaM had put out there themselves. The worst part, if this is true why she cut him off then (note, months after she’d already cut him off), then it is absolutely shocking that she seemingly never followed up/politely asked/however else you want to phrase it ANYONE re how the assured investigation was proceeding. Eight fucking years. Eight years of zilch, nada, nothing. Honestly, I keep reading with incredulity the people saying along the lines of investigations take time/can’t insert herself into an investigation/these things are complicated. No. You do not shrug your shoulders for eight years and not query wtaf is going on with regards to an accusation serious enough to cut your father out of your life (months after you’ve already cut him out of your life, but I’m going with her timeline here!).

Point 2 - For some reason, M decided to writer her Dec 2025 letter to TM. Maybe because of media commentary re her being a tad heartless to her father who yes, had behaved like a shit with some of his interviews. But people were looking at it with the narrative that HaM had fed over the years re cutting him off for colluding with the media. In the light of ALL the public trashing the two of them had done towards the WRF, it obviously looked hypocritical. So, performative delivery of said letter to TM in hospital, by someone from the consulate no less, with the delivery filmed and TM signing a receipt of delivery also filmed. Very OTT and a fair amount of effort on M’s part for this. In that letter M informs him she knows he’s an abuser and he’ll never see her children. So, even if Point One above is completely erased, M put in writing over 10 months ago that he was an abuser. What did she do about it? Because it doesn’t appear she alerted any appropriate agencies/forces/whatever. But it’s now in the public domain that she knew/suspected, at the very least, 10 months ago. And still seems to have done fuck all - apart from a performative, filmed (gosh, shocker), delivery of said letter to TM in hospital having just had his leg amputated. Colour me cynical, but that was a receipt for a “shock” reveal once TM died. Unfortunately, her press clap back last week has fucked things up. So keen to say “and now you know why I don’t speak to him so up yours to the press and public’. She’s invited a whole different level of scrutiny by bring up the 2018/19 letter - no one had a clue about its existence.

Whichever way you spin it, she either knew/suspected for 8/7 years or for 10 months. To seemingly have no interest, beyond “I was told it was being handled” is beyond words. That shit doesn’t fly when you position yourself as [insert long list of everything they’ve called themselves over the years]?

Is M responsible for what her father may have done? No. But she’s totally responsible for her seemingly not bothered/wash her hands of it attitude, whether that was for 8/7 years or 10 months (god, I’m getting tired of trying to cover all the timeline possibilities, fuck knows what it’s like trying to keep on top of it in real time for (HaM).

The above is not even attempting to put into context everything that has come out of their mouths in the intervening years - because it would take hours to to do that 😂. They have offloaded many grievances. The fact that they have, apparently, been silent re possible CSA is beyond words. And by silent, I don’t mean doing what they normally do re their grievances. I mean by, seemingly, not following up with any relevant authority to even ask if there is any progress in a supposed investigation. Everything they’ve done before was shitty - but it was against an institution that has been around forever and has a lot of support and resources. This situation potentially is regarding some of the most vulnerable in society.

TLDR : for the foreseeable, I don’t think there will be any lengthy, pretzel-type post that will dissuade me from thinking that they are awful people and only interested in themselves.

Wasn't Meg's last stint on masterchef a disaster??

It pulled in the numbers on a show that is in decline, it still wasn’t the most watched episode of the series, so I guess for initial traction she is a good hire. But the clips I saw of her were dire, she is a crap presenter. ‘Personality of a potato’ is the best ever description of her 😃😃

She really was , it was as if poor Archie's name was given no thought, no nod to his impressive royal ancestry simply Archie Harrison (son of Harry) the least royal, least prince like name they could come up with!
Unless of course Archie is a name from the Markle lineage!

Then Lilibet gets saddled with Lilibet Diana....

I think the names are clear indications of the two different mentalities they had at the time of the children being born.

When A was born they definitely thought they were bigger than the RF, they were going to eclipse them and be global superstars. So they intentionally spurned a royal name. They were sneering and condemning all aspects of Harry's culture and traditions.

By the time L was born the penny was starting to drop that they needed that royal association to have any hope of getting the attention and money they want. What are they without their royal connection?

LipglossAndLies · Today 07:03

Noseyoldcow · Yesterday 23:50

Absolutely right. But they don’t have Meghan and Harry for parents. Wherever they live those poor kids are fucked. Because of their parents. And poor Lillibet was fucked from the start anyway with that choice of name. If she has any sense - which I hope for her she does, except she might not, after all, the generational bollocks foisted upon her by her dad might extend to intellect -she will change that name pretty sharpish when she can. Archie will get by, I guess. His dysfunctional ma has already forgotten he exists.

On a parenting forum no less, how nasty you are about children.

She's not being nasty about the children. She's commenting on their choice of name for their daughter, Princess Lilibet Diana. Distinctive, unique, marketable. There is actually a whole baby names board on MN, some of the comments are far worse than these, so yes, it's acceptable on a parenting website.

You're spot on, plus "no titles" for Archie! He was "Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor". Those were the days.
Now, it's all desperation for Royal connection because they realized they're nothing without the titles. Titles are everything to them, and marketing the connection to the late Queen and to Diana is pretty much all they have in the absence of talent, creativity, hard work, ability and effort.

Dontevenlookatme · Today 07:19

It doesn’t surprise me that the Met didn’t have the letter. We don’t know its contents but like all government functions they would have a records retention policy, they can’t possibly keep everything that crosses the desk. Presumably it was unpleasant enough to bring it to the attention of the DDOS but obviously not within their jurisdiction to pursue.

Kelvin MacKenkie’s comment (speaking on the Mark Dolan show) was that surely when the letter came to her attention she would have passed it to her own lawyer and asked them to follow up. You wouldn’t want something out there and have no knowledge of where it was and who had their hands on it.

I think she just wanted it to go away. And nobody could blame her for that, but it’s the arse covering lying that gets people talking.

Re MasterChef. She wasn't terrible, but she was annoying. She is weird and clunky with children so not sure how it will go. She flirted with the adult contestants so will have to think of something different.
I live about a kilometre away from the MasterChef kitchen. Feels a bit close!
There is talk that they will be here in July, Melbourne's coldest and dreariest month.
If she goes near the Children's Hospital again I will go and protest.
