I'm intrigued. Why would an Australian tv show want Meghan?

Was this deal signed before the shit hit the fan this weekend? "junior masterchef" and a whiff of being aware her father is a sex abuser for quite some time ?

As Ewan Roy said to his brother "what next, the Jack the Ripper women's health clinic?"

Is this another story like The Gentlemen?

I find this baffling. Does Meghan have the original, given that it is described as hand written? We still don’t know what the letter says. Given that the Met have only said “a letter” was passed to Meghan, is it the same letter? Or have I missed something 🤔

Fair point. Even before this I would have asked why? She's not a good cook, she's not a good communicator, she's not engaging or charming or funny or self deprecating or witty or intelligent?
Peculiar choice.

Any other TV show perhaps but not Junior masterchef with this stink hanging over Meg

This presumes they received it in the first place. As in, a letter was received and logged at the time and a record made therecand then of what was done with it.

Dear Lord, we have a situation where the only evidence of what the original letter said comes from the archive of MM.

Didn't an Australian chef say she had the personality of a potato?

PullTheBricksDown · Yesterday 22:27

Had to respond to the 'watch the company you keep' post from@andyburnhamhere here, as the thread had then closed.

The idea that a position becomes grubby because it's one shared by other unwholesome people is dubious for a number of reasons - eg Hitler being touted as a vegetarian hardly undermines it as a moral position. It's also part of a mode of thinking that moves away from critical analysis and towards being lined up with the right people: this is where the label of the 'omnicause' comes in, where one belief seems to require you to support others in the set. I actually support a fair number of these ideas, but the label points out the weakness of this approach. Don't judge by who else shares the view, judge by whether it's evidenced, rational and realistic. But here we come to the biggest issue: the 'company you keep' argument is deployed to try and belittle and shame people. As such it's a poor argument, and a hypocritical one because people who use it think that they aren't fooled when they take a look at biased sources (like you with Lady C) but the rest of us, well, we're probably not so sharp as you.
And posters have rightly said, that is deeply patronising. Feel free to have your say, but don't be surprised if people argue back, or indeed just ignore your posts as patronising rubbish.

Did they? A bit unfair on potatoes 😉

Starryfifty · Yesterday 22:29

Wasn't Meg's last stint on masterchef a disaster??

ChubbyCheeksCharlie · Yesterday 22:30

Are the Met saying they definitely received the letter, but lost it? Or are they saying they have no record of the letter?
Edited because my tenses were all muddled.

It was surely agreed ahead of the Thomas
Markle story breaking. Junior Masterchef has been Markled. And the HAMlets are presumably left in Harry's care. I'm actually surprised she's leaving Harry unattended because she's been very reluctant in the past to leave him within geographical distance of his family without her there to manage things.

I'm as lost as you are. I assumed Met had letter, revealed it to Meg and it's now disappeared but Meg has a copy apparently

BigWillyLittleTodger · Yesterday 22:32

How convenient the MET have lost the letter, how do they know they have lost it? Was it recorded when they received it? Has this letter ever existed?? So Meghan has the only version of this so called letter?? This gets more fishy by the minute.

Ah, the Met. There's no situation they can't be relied on to make worse through sheer professional incompetence.

Also “ a source”.
Let’s see what the programme makers say !

Meg has really set a hare running with this 2018-oh-it’s-2019 letter and its supposed contents. We still don’t know what’s in it, there’s only one unverified copy from Meg’s stash, and yet there are now former senior police officers sounding off in The Times about what should have happened in 2019 re international investigations and global god knows what. Ffs. 🤦‍♀️ It’s media madness.

I hope to god the IOPC is looking at this and will report pronto.
