I had to look that one up! I thought that as Aus is a Commonwealth country Harry and the Hamlets wouldn't need one, but M would.

I wonder how big a problem getting a visa would be for The Prince of England™ and his 'royal' family members. If it's too much hassle, maybe he'll just ask Pa to make him Governor General.

Or maybe being a Prince is on the list of 'in demand' occupations. No? Will wonders never cease!

Everyone needs a visa if they want to take up residence in Australia. NZ citizens may be an exception, but not British or American citizens. In any case, I doubt Meghan will be there for more than a few weeks. I can't see them actually living in Australia.

Australian immigration is very strict, even for other commonwealth countries, including the u.k
nobody can just rock up and stay .

They have enough income to live in Australia

Immigration is only strict to prevent drain on resources

As much as Meghan likes playing the victim I’m not convinced that she would want to be known as a sexual abuse victim by her own father even if it was true, she likes to be thought of as having a perfect life with a perfect husband and perfect children who adore her, living a perfect life jetting between Montecito and the Cotswolds, I just don’t think she would want people to think her father did sexually assault her, all her current victim narratives are flavour of the month causes, but SA by her Dad? I don’t think even she would want to go down that road.

Starryfifty · Today 20:21

Every Markle for themselves 😅

There's quite a few years of chaos ahead. I'd say William and C are bracing themselves

It's nothing to do with them, so fortunately they can distance themselves.

I really hope it's not true. It's so horrible. Even she wouldn't sink as low as to lie. How insulting for genuine survivors of child sex abuse

I think we all know people who behave in a way that most people side eye, but if anything is said the response is "that's just Dave/Mike/Harry - you know what they're like..."

Exjob had a bloke who was a known sex pest and groper, and it was the same thing. 'Oh that's just X, what a lad.' Until a new member of staff took real offence at his harassment and I encouraged her to go to HR. Bloke was eventually fired but it had taken years before anyone did anything about him.

And they have no compunction about cancelling visas, either, and it can be a three year exclusion if they do that - e.g working on a tourist visa. And the parameter for work is basically 'anything that can be done by an Australian citizen.'

With reference to The Times article - I suppose we are meant to believe all the previous times HAM did something that clashed with the RF, it was all just a coincidence not an attempt to overshadow the RF at all.

As Jim Royle would say, They don’t set out to overshadow the royals my arse.

She needs a Australian work permit right?

Australia are very strict. I remember watching an Australian border control TV programme when I was recovering from surgery and there were multiple UK/US citizens who were deported because they thought they could just rock up and work. One was a singer who had been invited to do one gig without pay.

Australia famously deported Novak Djokovic in 2022 because he was in breach of border conditions by refusing to have a COVID vaccination. IIRC he was held in illegal immigrant accommodation.

Once is accident, twice is coincidence, three times is a pattern

The best way to not overshadow the RF is by actually not overshadowing the RF. I think a statement saying that you're not setting out to overshadow the RF, made as KC3 flier off on a tour, could be seen as wanting to grab the spotlight.

The main judge on Junior MasterChef, Poh, is bright, funny, naturally extrovert and every knowledgeable about food. A long term popular figure in Australia and very much herself, not a media creation.
