While I agree with this, IcedPurple, the trouble is that Americans don't have much use for titles unless they come with a high level of success attached, which is why Harry was mistaken in thinking "just being him" would be enough

Unfortunately being himself is no longer enough for anyone else either, because shorn of the MIGS's image cultivation we've seen how deeply nasty that "self" is, so where he goes from here is anyone's guess

What's MIGS?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Yesterday 21:12

Basically Harold whinging that KC and PW don’t tell him their plans.

"Why should we tell you our plans, Harold? you don't work here any more!"

The man's not quite with it, is he?

She was raised by her grandmother, not Sam. All very f* up

It does not mention who she was raised by, but does mention her mother said her daughters allegations were untrue. She also says she was not abused by TM and she has not spoken to Meghan for a number of years.

Oh God I wish he would just shut the fuck up !

Kingzandqueens · Yesterday 21:22

And why should Harry & Meghan know about any of the Royal Family's plans, they are not part of it & are private citizens.
This is a ridiculous article!

Meg lived full time with her father from age 11 until she went to college. They are very important years and he seemed to a very devoted father. Rumours are Doria was in jail or left to "find herself"

It's just all so full of question marks isn't it ?

KatherineParr · Yesterday 21:30

All the very serious and disturbing allegations about Thomas Markle and this is what Harry chooses to comment on?

And Meg's big announcement about "junior" Masterchef. They are so far removed from reality, it's astonishing

Starryfifty · Yesterday 21:33

I guess Harold had to overshadow his brother's G Norton triumph somehow. His odious in-laws and CSA allegations didn't cut it. Now let's revert to whingeing

Do RF share their plans with Kerry Katona, Katie price ? No

God no! And they don't tell you or me either. Most high profile individuals with serious concerns over their security don't announce their plans😉

Doria was done for drug offences and spent a few years inside

I've seen this rumour several times over the years, but is there the slightest evidence for it? Surely convictions and jail time are public record in California?

I think if you're going to make such a specific and serious claim, you need to back it up.

The records are expunged, which you can do in America. On Youtube there is an interview with Tom Bower about his book Revenge, about the Sussexes. In the interview, he says "At X point, Doria disappears from Megan's life for X number of years. Legally, I can't tell you why." Well, I can. I am married to someone with a lot of contacts. He was a journalist on a UK national newspaper for six years - it probably qualifies as the most feared one. He's now a columnist on an American national paper, but still writes for Private Eye sometimes and of course is still in touch with his colleagues back on the UK national. He says that the jail sentence for drugs is what Bower is referring to, which he got direct from the source and which is well-known among journalists on national papers. DH said they have never published it because it's not Meghan's fault. National newspapers do have a code of ethics, I guess. And there might be a super-injunction but I'm not sure. I don't think I asked him. We are divorcing but amicable, and this came up quite some time ago when we were having lunch.

Why would Thomas J and Samantha not have dined out on that one if was true?

Only in exceptional circumstances. It's hard to see what exceptional circumstances would apply here. In the vast majority of cases, criminal convictions and prison sentences are public record in the US.

And are we to believe that nobody who knew Doria, none of her cell mates, nobody with knowledge, ever let any of this slip to any of the papers? In the decade or so that Doria's daughter has been world famous?

Sounds like tosh to me.

TheMarkleDebacle · Yesterday 22:00

Where's Doria in all of this? So the HAMs have returned to the UK leaving Doria in the US when MM appeared to be very close to her.

@CrazyMidget makes the point that it is common knowledge among the journalists, and they have decided not to publish the information because it is not on Meghan.

The more interesting question is the one @AllegationsMayVary raises - why haven't MM's half siblings every thrown this out?

That's not really a 'point'. It's pure speculation.

And like I say, if Doria was in prison a lot of people would have to have known. It's not credible that not a single one of those people has not blabbed about it over the course of the past decade. And that's assuming that the 'records were expunged' which sounds like another layer of fantasy to me.

It's a bit like the surrogacy 'rumours'. Speculation piled about speculation piled upon rumours from 'people on X' or 'posters on Reddit'. Nothing in the way of hard facts.

The best way to not overshadow the RF is by actually not overshadowing the RF. I think a statement saying that you're not setting out to overshadow the RF, made as KC3 flier off on a tour, could be seen as wanting to grab the spotlight.

Agree. If they have nothing to hand to over shadow then just get in on the coat tails.

It’s an interesting change in tone from the usual banging on and demanding reconciliation etc to now almost obsequious - over explaining, sort of begging - suggests to me that this is his only communication channel to KC3 to get any messages through.

Also very revealing that they have nothing on the slate for the rest of the year except one joint public engagement - I wonder if it’s KC3 carol concert or PC carol concert.

I'm even more intrigued as to why someone who was (allegedly) incarcerated with her hasn't split the beans. Criminals in general aren't known for their ethics and I would have expected someone somewhere to confess to being in jail with her.
