I feel that Doria is a 'private person', as opposed to her 'public figure DD and SiL. Just because one has a 'famous' child that doesn't make one public property.

IMHO she owes 'the world' nothing. She doesn't need to explain nor justify her absence from M's life nor where she is now or what she's doing. Nor does she need to say what she knew or didn't know about her exH's proclivities. There's nothing wrong with us being curious or even speculating, as long as we're clear it's purely speculation. But at the end of the day, it's really none of our business.

I wouldn't want to be the parent of a famous person for all the tea in China. It probably wasn't anything you ever planned for, expected, or enjoy.

I agree entirely.

And she's now on a moral hook for having left her DD as a child to be raised by a man who is being accused of CSA by two of his children, one of them her DD.

While her DD is in Australia judging puddings fit for a Duchess she'll be anticipating a visit from the FBI.

Why weren't Tom J and Samantha at the wedding?

They've not got on for a while. Understandably jealous I'd say of Megan's position as Daddy's favourite child.

Yes exactly - plenty of examples where accuracy has needed to be addressed.

I was referring to you .

They know too much & she wouldn't be able to control the narrative!

Meg could also get a call from the FBI. Harry too

Isn't Doria pally with the Kardashian mother?

But they're not in the USA, and Doria is.

The FBI wanted a chat with AMW too, but Mummy made it go away. I hope KC3 learned from that.

It would look awful for HAM if they refused to cooperate. AMW would talk his way into a life sentence, no way they could let him near it

Kingzandqueens · Today 00:10

They are back two months now & there's still no explanation on why they up sticks so suddenly after Harry saying not so long ago that he could never see his family living in the UK ,it's not safe...

I wonder if ‘mummy’ / MIL made the 2019 letter go away as well?

To be fair, I don’t blame Meghan for not inviting TMJr or Samantha to the Wedding. Anything could go down after they’ve taken full advantage of the free bar!!!

And as of now, I still can’t see an update on this - and I’m looking for one. Anyone else seen anything?

I can't see that they have said anything further.

I've also just been reading the Times update about the missing letter carefully (thanks again for the share token, @Cismyfatarse).

It doesn't say the letter is still missing.
It says that the police 'initially failed to locate' the letter, and were 'forced to ask [Meghan] if she had kept a copy'.
She then shared her copy.

Presumably they were initially unable to locate it because the date they were given for the letter was incorrect?

There is no statement that the letter remains lost or 'misplaced', and no update from the police since the original one.

The records are expunged, which you can do in America.

Only in exceptional circumstances. It's hard to see what exceptional circumstances would apply here. In the vast majority of cases, criminal convictions and prison sentences are public record in the US.

And are we to believe that nobody who knew Doria, none of her cell mates, nobody with knowledge, ever let any of this slip to any of the papers? In the decade or so that Doria's daughter has been world famous?

Sounds like tosh to me.

So why do you think Meghan lived with her dad for much of her childhood, and what is Tom Bower referring to when he says that at X point Doria disappears from Doria's life for X number of years and says that legally he can't say why? This is in an interview with him on Youtube, and he is known for being a serious journalist whose sources are impeccable.

StartupRepair · Today 00:57

I think a lot of drama could have been avoided by Meghan gritting her teeth and inviting all her ghastly relatives to the wedding. They would have sold some stories but it would have been a one day wonder and not left them with dangerous and festering resentment. It would have made Meghan more relatable than her approach of pretending they didn't exist. Kate had dodgy Uncle Gary at her wedding. It's always better to keep people in the tent.

That's not true at all about only exceptional circumstances. Where did you hear that? And of course, it depends on the state, since they're all so different. Here's some info about California. And I expect they moved fast to get the record expunged once Megan knew she would be marrying into the royal family - which itself would be a reason, in order to protect Doria, who had served her time, from intrusion into her privacy. But you have a good point about prison mates. I don't know. Maybe she used a different name inside, and it was decades ago. As for other people who knew her, maybe she never told them either and just let them think she'd ghosted them. After all, it's a bit embarrassing, isn't it.

Why would Thomas J and Samantha not have dined out on that one if was true?

It's a good question. I don't know. Thomas and Doria had been divorced for 8-10 years by the time she would have gone to jail, so they wouldn't have noticed her disappearing from their lives like they would have done if she and their dad had still been married. It's possible that Doria swore Thomas to secrecy and he never told them.
