Sounds too good to be true (for us)

But Harry has said they are loving being in the UK with friends and family (this one is a mystery) and hamlets have endless play dates

He wasn't blue-collar. He was a respected Hollywood director of lighting and photography director, for which he received three Emmy awards. He made a lot of money, enough to fund all of Megan's private education from nursery through to graduating from a good - and expensive - university. Northwestern is a well-respected college, and she went to the same private school as Johnny Depp's kids. Meghan is not the rags-to-riches story that she likes to portray. She said that she had to work while at school and her dad said she did not, as he would not have allowed it. She also said that she was raised on some cheap salad bar, but on her blog The Tig, she said that she had lots of healthy farm-fresh food growing up. She's as much a liar as her siblings. As far as I can make out, she and her family - on both sides - are pretty mucky. (Doria was done for drug offences and spent a few years inside, which is why Megan was brought up by her dad during that time.)

Yes, she also said on The Tig that he took her to ballet and tap lessons, then to an expensive restaurant. So the £6.99 Sizzler Salad being all they could afford was yet another lie.

Doria was done for drug offences and spent a few years inside

I've seen this rumour several times over the years, but is there the slightest evidence for it? Surely convictions and jail time are public record in California?

I think if you're going to make such a specific and serious claim, you need to back it up.

Lunde · Today 17:36

Puzzledandpissedoff · Today 17:26

Very true, Lunde, but then all the other "revelations" have been done at a time and in a way to suit her and this one doesn't fit the pattern since it's Markle Jnr who launched it instead

Of course, if as some think they've done it together than that's moot, but relying on someone like her brother keeping in line really would be riding a tiger and I don't know if she'd risk it

I think she was waiting for him to die so she could pursue her own narrative without fear of being sued. His health has been very precarious - especially since his major stroke (2023) and the blot clot and amputation in 2025.

But her brother selling the story to the Sun meant she couldn't spin it as intended

Yes, I don't think I've seen actual evidence for this.

I thought lighting teams were considered "manual trades", along with set carpenters, electricians etc in contrast to the white collar creative trades.

Starryfifty · Today 17:39

Meg lived full time with her father from age 11 until she went to college. They are very important years and he seemed to a very devoted father. Rumours are Doria was in jail or left to "find herself"

I thought that that was funded from a lottery win.

Janiie · Today 17:41

Lunde · Today 17:12

I mean given she's made some huge allegations and statements in the 7 years since they left the royal family (racism, sexual harassment, suicidal thoughts etc) it's surprising that she chose not to speak out about this - if she was really concerned.

Well yes we keep hearing 'oh she'll have been advised not to say anything' and while fine, allegations to the tabloids would not have been wise <not that that's ever stopped them> but you'd think they'd have sent the info to US law enforcement or wherever he was living.

Just to do nothing when they've made a career out of 'speaking out' is staggeringly hypocritical even by their hypocritical standards.

"Rumours".

But like I say there should be documented evidence of prison time. Convictions and prison sentences are public record in California.

They don't want a private, quiet life. They could have it if they want

Most people would have wished them well if they'd settled down to live quietly in Canada or California, with occasional trips back to family get-togethers at Sandringham or Balmoral. No Scobie, no Oprah, no Spare, no Netflix doc, no court cases, no faux-royal tours. All their own choice.

Indeed. As this approach would have cemented the then view H was worried about MM and press intrusion leading to the harassment his Mother had.

Its now 7 years and he seems to want back in to RF. So, had he listened to his family and specifically his grandmother who advocated for some years of low profile, as she initially did, abroad, and WaC had. The timeline would have worked well and no doubt the world would have welcomed them back.

They would have had their own time, to learn to know each other, it was a very short courtship, and enjoy their children.

Hey ho.....

Master chef are calling her …a special guest! , not sure where the co host came from? She is also only filming in Australia for a couple of weeks.

I went by the headlines used by the British media, who all HATE her but at the same time are using the most flattering terminology for this job

Spot on, Lunde, and now she's flailing around trying to nail down a narrative which - just for once - wasn't of her making, and predictably it's not going well

As mentioned on the last thread, now that the RF have created distance, I fully expect the MIGS will be thoroughly enjoying it all

There have been longstanding rumours/allegations he got very close to being decked at least once during his time in Africa... story goes he was bailed out by his protection officer(s).

I actually wish someone would report him for assault each time this happens. It might teach him to keep his hands to himself.

It's one of the reasons I am surprised he keeps being allowed to have public engagements with children. Are schools & hospitals really that desperate for publicity? I don't understand how any RA doesn't flag up his past behaviour (unless the risks posed to children isn't being considered).

Article in the DM - Amanda Platell is starting to see contradictions between her narrative from 2018-24 and the new narrative she wants us to believe now

I’m a bit bored today so I checked Junior Masterchef Australia and she’s described as a special guest. The comments are brutal.

He will continue to get away with it. The lifeguard in Australia was disgusted. He could have done something as it was recorded and H couldn't deny it. Not blaming the guy btw. Harry knows he can get away with it

It makes me think he's regularly getting high before he attends events. I find it hard to believe he would behave like this otherwise.

AtIusvue · Today 17:58

We literally ALL said this days ago!

That yes, it must be terrible for Meg that her dad has been accused of this. HOWEVER there’s so many things that don’t add up

  • Why she maintained an alternative narrative to why they cut him off
  • Why this narrative was maintained in the courts, on tv, in the press
  • Why they blamed the press for this
  • Why they maintained this story for years
  • Did she inform KP in interest of being open and honest and having further support to deal with this troubling issue.
  • Why Meg never bothered to find out if her father was still under investigation
  • Why Meg said nothing for 8 years
  • Why Meg wrote to her father alerting him of these accusations
  • Why they drew their ire at the RF for years, selling stories to tv networks and book publishers, over silly issues and perceived slights, when they knew of what REAL wrongdoing is, with the accusations against her father.

Soooooo many questions. Until we find out these answers….then I’ll hold my sympathy for her

Why are the press only catching up now!

I think it’s unlikely that anyone who’s been to jail could become a social worker like Doria did.

I swear, there’s more intellectual curiosity and thoughtful opinions on these threads, than you’ll find in the press about these two.

They are just so bloody slow to ask the real questions.
