One of my guilty pleasures is watching programmes about police forensics and it's amazing what they can do.

Ditto. Currently watching Forensics: the Real CSI. How they solve crimes from seemingly nothing is amazing.

I don't support the way they have attacked the family at all. This isn't fiction with goodies and baddies, people are more complex than that.

I can understanding why Meghan gave another reason for cutting her father off. You can't comment in an investigation of course but even without that, why on earth would she to go public with this? Particularly if it wasn't proven.

Can you explain why Harry thinks the reason Meghan lost his father is because of him?

Why were the Met allegedly investigating it? He lives in America.

Meghan has repeatedly said her father was cut off for selling stories (exactly like she does herself about the royal family)

Meghan & Harry are live the boy who called Wolf. No matter what they say they will never be believed as they have lied too much in the past & everything they say can be so easily contradicted !

Hello @jeffgoldblum

@TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow said this ‘Hopefully a new thread won’t be started and posts will die a death here. I feel ashamed that I posted on such an awful subject’ as part of the discussion that a few of us had on @OrdinaryGingerBloke’s concern about the way the discussion around the crimes against children was going last night.

I took her comment to mean that she hoped a thread on that subject would not be started, and that posts on that topic would die a death.

The discussion moved on, and we all agreed that the thread is for discussing Sussex PR responses and behaviours, rather than other details.

(Sorry if this has already been cleared up - I’m still having problems with the site)

But can it really be going on since 2018 how can an investigation take that long?

AtIusvue · 23/10/2026 11:41

I’m sorry, but that makes them inhumane

To be concerned with and obsessed by minor family dramas of Harry’s family, to feel that it’s their duty to speak out- all the while not saying anything about this horrific affair. I mean not even leak info.

It makes them look awful. Truly terrible humans.

Mylovelygreendress · 23/10/2026 11:28

Is there evidence to suggest they were a bit estranged ? M spoke gushingly about her father on TIG and he was on the wedding guest list .

Yes. They really weren’t estranged at that point.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 23/10/2026 11:41

I’m very confused, someone sent a letter to the met and the royal protection services and Meghan was assured it was being dealt with, did no one think to follow up that after 8 years it was tumbleweed? Nothing was heard about it ever again? No one pushed on an investigation? It’s interesting that her statement mentions the RPS, so they did nothing either? What the actual fuck is going on here??

JSMill · 23/10/2026 11:42

MrsLeonFarrell · 23/10/2026 11:37

She had to release a statement otherwise everything they do next will become the press asking about it

I don’t think that’s the end of it. What I find mind boggling is that she knew about the allegations in 2018 and said nothing publicly, but instead sued over a letter she had written to her father. So she took action over a stupid letter but not those awful allegations? Was her father protected from prosecution because of who he is? There’s been a cover up over this.

Shakespeareandi · 23/10/2026 11:43

Just leave these people alone. None of you know them, but put so much horrible energy out about them. It's bullying and sad, do you really want to be THAT person.

Exactly- there was a lot of hopeful thinking in her statement when she said she hoped authorities were looking after other families

Which is shorthand for- she wanted nothing to do with it and didn’t care enough to find out

Yeh, I’m THAT person who calls out people for not speaking out on CSA when you’ve got the information and platform to do so.

AtIusvue · 23/10/2026 10:44

She can’t make out that she cut off contact at this point: she cut off contact at the wedding. Harry said himself in subsequent years- that but for him- Meg may still have a father

So Harry was lying about that? Or was he lying about something else?

HaM are no longer reliable narrators of their own story, are they?

Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 11:47

If it came to light in 2018, assume TM was investigated? Why was he not charged if there was evidence of a crime ?

Also, he has made constant appeals through the media to see Meg and the kids, surely he wouldn't do this knowing she had these allegations hanging over him ?

Can’t make head nor tail of it.

But there’s too much info, that they themselves have put out, that completely
contradicts what she’s saying in that statement.

Exactly. I'm ok, that's the main thing. HAM are so insidious

None of it makes sense.

She could have said something to the effect that she is deeply shocked by the allegations but doesn't consider it appropriate to comment further while the matter is under investigation. Even better would be to have a reputable PR or legal representative issuing a statement on her behalf, rather than involving herself directly.

I doubt even Harry remembers. For Meg's sake, I hope she has him muzzled. Him speaking out about it would be the icing on the cake

We don’t know, and I can only imagine what a burden that knowledge must have been to bear. But what we do know is that the late Queen paid millions of pounds to settle the allegations against her son, who maintained contact with a convicted paedophile whilst Virginia Giuffre, one of the women who accused Andrew of sexual abuse, later died by suicide. Meanwhile, Andrew continues to live on the Royal Estate under the protection of his brother, the King. And this dwarfs any supposed transgressions by Meghan in perpetuity.

No idea why Harry used that particular explanation. I think at this point we all know that neither of them are good at being consistent with their narrative.

My assumption from the statement, and I could be wrong, is that it wasn't the Met investigating but the Met passing on information they had received as part of the 5 Eyes intelligence information sharing. Whilst the Sussexes were still being protected by RAVEC it would make sense that information which could have been used to pressure them would be communicated to them.

As to why the investigation seems to have faded out over 8 years, sadly I think we all know that sex crimes investigations often go nowhere.

The fact that she said she knew about it since 2018 completely contradicted her reason of cutting Thomas out for getting fitted for his suit & selling photos of himself in it.
She didn't have to say she knew anything, she has just reinforced the fact that nothing she says can be taken as truth...

LadyUrsula · 23/10/2026 11:51

So many questions!

Why were allegations made to the Met when presumably the crimes were committed overseas? What would they expect the Met to do about it?

Were any other allegations made to police wherever Mr Markle was living?

Meghan says she assumed the Met were investigating so what was the outcome of that?

Who made the allegations? It would have to be someone credible to be taken seriously.

If the allegations were credible enough to make Meghan cut her father off for the last 8 years, why haven't they been followed up more effectively by the police?

There's a huge failure of policing somewhere along the line and I hope that investigating journalists can uncover it all.

Exactly.

She did it to take another hit at the press- ‘see…this is why I cut contact in 2018….’

In her fervent glee in trying to get one up on the press- she’s revealed she was aware of CSA allegations and did not to speak out on it. Instead concerning herself with soap opera drama with the RF.

Mondommountain · 23/10/2026 11:52

I’m absolutely blown away, I just can’t get my head around it all.

it’s got to be the worst kind of thing to try to conceal, while at the same time making fun of the RF protocols, complaining about petty stuff, to now admit they knew all along her father was being accused of being a paedphile.

I guess the reason for the quick US exit and the pleading to be back in the arms of the RF is finally revealed.

Do you think that blustering comment from the Sussex source last night forced her into admitting they have known this all along.
