Christ.
Their lies will be their undoing.
They knew in 2018. They claimed TM was not invited to the wedding due to selling pics to paps?
H has said the wedding stress was the cause of the estrangement.
Which is it?

Goodness me, this is a bizarre and terrible turn of events. Nothing makes sense though. If Meghan knew in 2018, then surely she’d never speak about her father again, or would issue a “I’m not going to talk about that” when asked about the estrangement. Instead we have Harry pontificating and “blaming” himself.
And that’s if it’s true - Tom jr seems like a piece of work so who knows…
And that’s a very bold statement from Meghan, hasn’t she backed herself into a corner now? I wonder who’s advising her? A holding statement of “I’m deeply shocked and processing the news, I won’t be making any further statement at this time” would surely have been better?

But was he found guilty & prosecuted? There is so much to the story that makes no sense..

Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 11:12

I really don't believe HAM have a PR team at all tbh

FancyKitten · 23/10/2026 11:12

Now that Meghan has made a statement…

As others have said, this makes it big news.

And was Thomas Markle found guilty & prosecuted? According to Meghan the Met were investigating him in 2018 surely a verdict has been reached?

I hope I’ve misunderstood you!!
why on earth would we not continue discussing hams pr?
did others stop discussing Andrew?
if you feel guilty stay of the threads but I assure you they will continue!

Yes you have misunderstood me. And not for the first time. Perhaps you shouldn’t be so quick off the mark as it’s becoming tiresome.

If she has misunderstood you, wouldn't it be better if you clarified, rather than criticised her?

Edited

For all the wrong reasons for her. Her statement has made things so much worse as all her inaccuracies over the years can be found with a click of a button..
Why not give this reason back in 2018? Why cover up?

MrsLeonFarrell · 23/10/2026 11:15

I haven't read all the posts but I think that statement is clear and makes the ignoring of her father completely understandable. If Meghan thought something was being investigated she wouldn't say anything.

I feel a lot of sympathy for her, these allegations are devastating for any family and when you are in the public eye, knowing everyone is taking and the family rift and drawing their own conclusions, it must make it hard.

It isn't a surprise, as I said on the other thread, I always felt the way her family attacked and pressured Meghan through the press was abusive.

@PullTheBricksDown

There's quite a bit of odd stuff here. Why would a letter be sent to the Met? Thomas Markle has never lived in the UK, it's not their jurisdiction (and I have a low opinion of the Metropolitan Police but this really wasn't their job)

Agreed.

Edited

Because at the time they were under the protection of the Met Police and thought it pertinent to prevent any further contact ? Her statement

In 2018, a letter was sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection. That letter was subsequently shared with me. It made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father and I was given assurances that these were being investigated.
'I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications' distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children, was for one reason: to protect them.
'I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families.

Mylovelygreendress · 23/10/2026 11:17

If M only found out about the allegations in 2018 , it still doesn’t explain why H never met TM before they got engaged in 2017 nor at any time during their engagement.
I wonder if the Met will respond although - like others - I am not sure why they were ( allegedly) contacted.

There will be people who use these horrific allegations to suit their narrative regarding Harry and Meghan. It shouldn’t be allowed which is why people need to keep the timeline fresh in their mind ready to counteract the whitewashing that’s going to go on. The children deserve not to be victims for a second time.

Either they don’t have a competent PR team, or they don’t listen to the one they do have.

I remember reading, a few years ago, an article by a PR expert who said that one reason H&M’s PR leads resigned so quickly was that PR runs on having good relationships with others, and staying longer in a job like that would destroy your relationships with all your contacts.

I’m really uncomfortable with the way some of the commentary around the CSA images is going and the idea, if it’s true, that this some way rubs off on Meghan. If this has happened, whether her brother or her father committing those crimes, that is not on her. It’s not her fault. It’s not her responsibility. The fact the allegations about her father are falling into a thread about HAM PR sits poorly with me.

Unless there are allegations actually against her my personal view is that the topic of Markle Senior’s behaviour should be on it’s own thread. If you all decide otherwise sobeit.

I think it's fair enough to discuss this. We are all adults here and we have the choice to read a thread or not. I haven't seen anyone putting up a post like this in relation to Andrew - in fact the " what about Andrew" posts have been a deluge in the past . Chickens coming home to roost springs to mind. We had similar posts the other day about whether Meghan's less than Oscar worthy acting performances are suitable discussion. Again it's up to individuals . Don't like what you see don't read. Deal in facts but not opinions as to what is suitable. No one is forced to read anything.

SiegfriedSassoon · 23/10/2026 11:19

The Mail is full of pictures of teenage Meghan with Thomas Markle today. She was a pretty teenager. I wonder how Doria feels about her daughter having had surgery to eradicate any mixed race features she had. Her original nose was very nice nice and suited her face. It looks to me like she had it done on the cheap in the early 00s when that 'ski slope' nose was all the rage. Its really not very well done at all.

Great post from the last thread.
I think you have nailed it @ImaPrinceImaPrincebutmyBrotherWontAdmitIt

I read a while ago while they were still in Adelaide cottage that William had finally succumbed to pressure and had employed a valet to keep his clothes/uniforms in good order & to ensure his uniforms were always 100% correct.
I did wonder where the clothes would be stored as just William’s uniforms must take up a huge ammount of cupboard space, never mind Catherine’s 15 years of coats, dresses, skirts, trousers, evening gowns, shoes, boots, handbags and hats, She must have 100 hats.
So Frogmore house makes perfect sense.
It’s too ‘fragile’ to be lived in apparently but could quite easily be a place where staff look after the ‘workimg clothes’ of W &C and where they go to get ready- for the hairdresser to meet there etc which keeps their home utterly private,
It makes absolute perfect sense.
It’s in the security ring, could have staff on site 24 hrs, close to them in Forrest lodge.
Im sure you are bang on right, @ImaPrinceImaPrincebutmyBrotherWontAdmitIt
And if we are right then I think it’s fabulous and I’m so pleased the building is being used for something even if it’s just a huge wardrobe!

I know the thread has moved on and might already have been pointed out.

Frogmore House is not Frogmore Cottage.

But surely if he was under investigation in 2018 then that was concluded? This latest accusation is new. I don’t get the timeline.

AtIusvue · 23/10/2026 11:21

Let’s get this timeline clear.

In 2018, Meg and Harry find out about allegations about her father that are linked to CSA.

In that time, what Harry and Meg found most upsetting and decided to speak out on, because ‘the only wrong you can do is say nothing at all’- direct quote.

  • William and Kate overdressing for a dinner
  • William and Kate feeling uncomfortable with her hugging
  • Kate making a face when Meg asked to borrow her lipgloss
  • Flower girl dress drama - with someone making someone cry.
  • Not being congratulated on their Australian tour
  • unfounded claims that their kids would be denied titles
  • hearsay about the children’s skin colour

This is what upset them? This is what they HAD to speak out on. This is why they had to flee Britain?!

They knew about her father but were gunning for the RF over minor issues?

That’s a whole level of fucked up that no one seen coming.

They were obviously a bit estranged by the time she met Harry. I don't think we need to look for reasons why the statement isn't true. It clearly is. It doesn't mean Megan suddenly becomes perfect, it doesn't excuse the choice to speak to Oprah and make awful accusations against the Royal family. But it does explain the distance from her father.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 23/10/2026 11:21

Kingsandqueenz · 23/10/2026 11:11

The story has only broken hours ago & already Meghan has made it 10 times worse by her statement .
Why were the Met investigating? TM lived in America..

This is one of those times when 'shut up and lie low' is really the best option. But no, they can't help themselves.

Do you feel the way Meghan & Harry attack the royal family in the press is abusive also? And getting paid so much for it.

Also do you not think this is yet another lie exposed by H&M. Meghan said she cut off her dad for selling stories & Harry says he blames himself for Meghan having no relationship with her dad...

The inaccuracies & inconsistencies of H&M are actually mind-blowing

In her statement, she says she doesn’t know, and I think we can take that at face value. Why would she say something that the Met would then be forced to publicly deny?
I can’t begin to imagine how terrible it must be to live with the knowledge that your own father is a paedophile. What an appalling burden that must be to carry, and for so many years.

Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 11:23

Assuming H also knew what when did he say his wife doesn't have a father because of him ????

drivinmecrazy · 23/10/2026 11:23

It also makes one wonder why she shares pictures of her children on the internet so freely.

surely she must be aware that pictures can be doctored for the purposes in line with what her father has been accused of.
can she really be so devoid of insight?
Obviously none of the blame for the actions of her father can be laid at her door, but you’d imagine she would learn something by it
