I have to presume that statement wasn't from M. It's so obviously damaging to her she isn't quite that stupid with regard to PR.

It sounds more like a simpleton supporter who gleefully thought this was a great opportunity to defend her and didn't understand the implications.

Whatever the truth here, one thing is clear: the Markle family are profoundly toxic and disturbed in their relationships and personalities.

And maybe Meghan escaped as the most functional one? Although that's not saying much...

Unpopular opinion but I did not like Terry Wogan. He was patronising, condescending and very pleased with himself. He revealed an interesting side to his character when he opened Children In Need by singing The Floral Dance. Except that he wasn’t concentrating and started to sing the wrong bit, the orchestra tried to keep up and make amends but it was a mess. Terry flashed an angry look, blamed the orchestra and told them to start again when, of course, he started to sing the right words. Always looked at him differently after that.

I feel the same @WilIiamsExtraSausage ! Never got why people were such fans. He was smug, patronising on Eurovision (Graham Norton does it so much better) and charged a fee for hosting Children in Need which his BBC salary should have covered.

Back on track: the Mail have the Thomas Markle story on their front page too this morning so must have moved very fast to get it in after the Sun story dropped. Presumably these outlets will be asking the Sussex team for comment. Liam had better be on good form today to handle this.

One of the new items in the As ever range is a teapot.

Someone on TwiX has suggested this …

Harry and a chocolate teapot would be apt….

The plush speaker is absolute gold.

As Ever just gives the impression of a dodgy money laundering 'front'. I know it's not, but that's what it reminds of me of, with fake products.

The functional one?! Within months of marrying her Harry was suddenly estranged from his family too, up until then he appeared to have a very good relationship with his grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister in law & father... suddenly he cut them off & went washing his filthy laundry on Oprah..

Also remember how Meghan ended her relationship with her first husband, send her rings back in the post!

The Markles & Meghan do share a love for money making & selling stories to the press. It's a family pastime

It really is and it's so tacky looking. How the hell is this making any money ??

Awful news about Markle Snr. I can’t imagine how Samantha thinks it’s planted though. You can’t fake evidence like that.

It’s impact on Harry n Meg will be huge:

  • She can’t be wafting about looking into the middle distance to sell teapots and chocolate bars, this is extremely serious and they need to acknowledge this. There’s no putting in place ‘Never explain. Never explain’ now. They will have to put an official statement out.
  • Whoever spoke to the press on Megs behalf did her no favours. Implying she may have known is utterly disgusting. If she did suspect something then she should have contacted authorities. Isn’t it a crime not to report?
  • Puts into perspective their behaviour and how they’ve treated the RF over minor issues and perceived slights. The only reason to flee from family and talk against them…..would be for serious issues like this.
  • The kids are now at school, that their GF has CSA images…..that will have an huge impact. I know Harry and Will had to deal with their fair share of stuff while they were at school, but this is nothing to a GF (even if estranged) being, well you know what.
  • Questions will at some point arise if Meg suspected anything, what she was exposed to while living alone with her father during childhood.

i feel sympathy for them but their next steps need to be the correct ones. They can’t ignore this away,

Am I the only one who's keeping an open mind as to who was responsible for the images? The story at the moment is that the computer was stored elsewhere for 2 years so available for others to use presumably. This is turning into a proper witch hunt.

StrawberryWasp · 23/10/2026 09:24

The most functional one from a bunch of potential sex abusers, not fit to be parents, lying, fame hungry back stabbing toxic unstable family members.

It's really not saying much, to be the most functional of such a group, and most people will presume that it's unlikely that one would escape psychologically unscathed from such an upbringing.

Which would fit with much of what we have seen.

PW plays a blinder on G Norton. While his brother's in laws are involved in child abuse

DontLiveByTheClouds · 23/10/2026 09:32

I can't yet put into words my thoughts on the RF and CSA as I have direct experience but what I can say is if these computers could have been used by someone else, who when they were presumably kicked away in TM seniors house? Junior Tom?

Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 09:36

Quite random but I was thinking about the seven deadly sins earlier and how they are generally at the bottom of ruination. I was thinking about HaM.
Harry married Meghan out of lust, she married him out of greed. Their life together seems steeped in pride, envy and anger. I think Harry at least is very slothful as well. Haven't seen any evidence of gluttony but Harry lately is starting to physically look like someone who has indulged to excess in things that are less than healthy.
Odious Andrew & Fergie are no strangers to the deadly sins life either, they are very familiar with all seven.

Oh I agree about GN, and that Parkinson was an incredible interviewer. Have you ever watched the Princess Anne chat? It's amazing – he teased a side out of her that the public hadn't ever seen. She's so funny!

Do you know, I don't know if I have ever seen the interview with Princess Anne. Thank you for the recommendation!

OrdinaryGingerBloke · 23/10/2026 09:40

I’m really uncomfortable with the way some of the commentary around the CSA images is going and the idea, if it’s true, that this some way rubs off on Meghan. If this has happened, whether her brother or her father committing those crimes, that is not on her. It’s not her fault. It’s not her responsibility. The fact the allegations about her father are falling into a thread about HAM PR sits poorly with me.

Unless there are allegations actually against her my personal view is that the topic of Markle Senior’s behaviour should be on it’s own thread. If you all decide otherwise sobeit.

No- there’s an old phone, computers (multiple) and actual hard copy photographs found in books.

Seems to be! Even if others are putting words in her mouth, or she’s none too media savvy (none of them are) this is what she’s saying.

The PR aspect is how they handle this, with the seriousness that it deserves, not if Meghan is in any way culpable. No one believes that.

They have launched many assaults on the RF over the years, for reasons that pale into significance when compared to the actions of her father.

So they have to handle this correctly and not suddenly resort to never complain, never explain. The RF wasn’t afforded that, over what was in reality minor issues.

Not at all functional, she's the same as them! Selling stories about your in-laws for millions is completely unhinged & dysfunctional!

StrawberryWasp · 23/10/2026 09:51

I think it would be silly to think this has no impact or relevance to H&M and not to discuss it.

The fallout of the sources statement is already creating issues. And the wider issue of her relationship with her father is long standing.

Any suggestion she is culpable for his actions however would be grotesque and shouldn't be tolerated.

But not to discuss the impact of this huge story doesn't make sense.
