Quite random but I was thinking about the seven deadly sins earlier and how they are generally at the bottom of ruination. I was thinking about HaM.
Harry married Meghan out of lust, she married him out of greed. Their life together seems steeped in pride, envy and anger. I think Harry at least is very slothful as well. Haven't seen any evidence of gluttony but Harry lately is starting to physically look like someone who has indulged to excess in things that are less than healthy.
Odious Andrew & Fergie are no strangers to the deadly sins life either, they are very familiar with all seven.

Excellent post Siegfried.

bluegreygreen · 23/10/2026 09:59

The remit of the thread is Sussex PR issues, and their ongoing public behaviour.

I agree that speculation around potential crimes belongs elsewhere, and like others I would be much more comfortable with that. However, I think discussion of PR statements, such as the unhelpful comment made by the friend to the Sun, belongs on this thread.

Thoughts to those for whom this is resurrecting horrible memories and feelings.

The report says the brother reported it to the FBI and he is being investigated in the US too.

The reports I read said that Thomas Jr has reported it to the local police, who are preparing to investigate, and to an FBI Hotline.

So, no current investigation under way in either country.

PW plays a blinder on G Norton. While his brother's in laws are involved in child abuse

Did you say the same when the tables were turned..no you didn't because it wouldn't suit your agenda

OrdinaryGingerBloke · 23/10/2026 10:08

I can very much be onboard with discussing any HAM response to everything and how their own actions reflect on them. You are right @bluegreygreen that this is very much our raison d'être!

Very Welsh Methodist, there!

Apologies if someone has already said this, I don't have time to RTFT... A way out would be for MM to say the RF advised her to keep schtum before the wedding and for evermore. This would mean keeping quiet becomes the shame of the RF, rather than that of MM.
What with Jimmy Saville, it would be easy to spin as the RF have form. And I certainly wouldn't put it past HaM if they find themselves in hot water.
The RF PR will have their work cut out for them with this, I think.
[By the way, I don't believe a word Meghan says, and I don't think Harry would have been given permission to marry her if the RF had known about the new TM rumours. I'm just saying how MM might spin it if there's a backlash to her having known and kept quiet.]

So how did The Scum get hold of the story then?

Awful news about Markle Snr. I can’t imagine how Samantha thinks it’s planted though. You can’t fake evidence like that.

Am I the only one who's keeping an open mind as to who was responsible for the images? The story at the moment is that the computer was stored elsewhere for 2 years so available for others to use presumably. This is turning into a proper witch hunt.

No. I feel the same.

As said before, someone could be doing something wicked here or someone may well have historically done something wicked.

I’m inclined to keep an open mind considering the source.

Whatever is going on here, I hope that justice is done and I hope those who have been abused find the help they need.

As for the ‘friend’ and the ‘helpful’ statement?

I raised quite the eyebrow at that little can of worms opening.

Good post

You can see this being spun in some quarters as "well MI5/MI6 must have known therefore.......:. ".

Even if Meg spins it that RF knew she STILL knew and didn't report it? "Women have a voice" after all.

The older I get the more I realise there was a lot of sense in those chapel sermons!

Not much chance of the HaMs or the Yorks repenting 😄

The plush speaker is absolute gold.

As Ever just gives the impression of a dodgy money laundering 'front'. I know it's not, but that's what it reminds of me of, with fake products.

Do you remember those ‘Facebook tat’ businesses that people used to claim to run to claim working tax credits? They were amazing - twigs with glitter, painted cheap goblets and truly terrifying graze board suggestions. A few still feature on MN at Xmas (ie having the piss taken out of them).

Funny old world.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 23/10/2026 10:28

Except that still shows that MM knew and didn't say anything. Given that she spurned RF advice on anything else, and they allegedly were no help when she had MH problems, why would she go to them with this? that's an absolute gift to all the people like PW warning him off her.

Badvocthebad · 23/10/2026 10:28

I don't think the RF can claim any moral superiority here tbh.
AMW and his odious wife were involved in god knows what with JE and his circle.
I think the RF will keep quiet.
HaM would be wise to do the same.

Kingsandqueenz · 23/10/2026 10:30

My husband who has no interest in the royal family this morning said
"Thank God William was born first " 😂

IAmATorturedPoet · 23/10/2026 10:31

I have an open mind and lots of questions 🤔
It will be interesting to see how this develops.

Badvocthebad · 23/10/2026 10:31

M has to stay quiet.
If she knew and said nothing, there's no coming back from that.
If she didn't know, then she has nothing to say/do about it, other than to condemn it.
I wouldn't put it past them to try to somehow and monetise this awful situation, sadly 😕

Badvocthebad · 23/10/2026 10:32

We were all wondering why they came back to the uk so quickly and with seemingly no plan...
Maybe we know now?

The royal family won't need to comment, Harry & Meghan have left the royal family, they are estranged & not working royals.

As we saw with the state banquet & we'll see again at Christmas H&M are no longer part of the family

Yes, but they will get asked for comment, as I'm sure you're aware.

itwouldbebettertojumpPiggy · 23/10/2026 10:34

I don’t think the RF would claim any moral superiority at all.

Whoever authorised that ill advised statement has done H&M no favours at all and rather than shutting conversation down, it has opened up far more questions.

In the same vein as AMW.

I don’t think anyone would buy this though given that by all accounts the Queen was trying to encourage both Harry and Meghan to get in touch with Thomas Markle before the wedding. Meghan is in a very unenviable situation here. Notwithstanding the sheer shock of what her father may have done, I don’t think she can avoid saying something, otherwise it could well seem that she knew about the allegations in advance (which may be the case given the timing of their return 🤷‍♀️). Even something fairly non commital like she is appalled by the allegations and her thoughts are with the victims. But empathy isn’t her strong point unfortunately
