Well we have had the attempted upstaging of the Welsh senate …..now the Oman state visit….we all hope that whatever advisors that they still have will not allow any thing to interfere with Aberfan! 🤞

I have 3 DB's and, if there was enough food for second servings to be offered, they always were asked first and I rarely got seconds. And my portion was always smaller to begin with as DM thought boys needed more food than girls.

I can honestly say that this hasn't caused me any issues - it's something, when the subject comes up, that I laugh about. Of all the negative things that can happen to children in childhood, having a smaller bedroom or one less sausage at breakfast time are things which should come near the bottom of the list.

I doubt if there are many of us who couldn't come up with some negative aspects of an otherwise happy childhood but, of course, H is a prince so expected better and for those of you who haven't experienced a happy childhood, this must be particularly galling

Gotta say I feel very different about feeding one child less than the others, with the obvious caveats about smaller children wanting less food. If Harry had been fed less than William, as in actually offered and allowed to have less, rather than naturally wanting less, he'd have a real grievance.

HAM will see GQ as a huge success but I think it will backfire on them. I really don't see how this will end for Harry tbh

He's probably forgotten it already.
"G what? Is that a horse?"

The big problem is that Meghan wants to be a celebrity more than she wants to be a duchess. When Grace Kelly married Rainier III, it was a whole new life for her.

Had MM embraced the role, she’d now be in the “powerful woman” position she coveted. Somewhat… Her other problem was that she’d want to be seated next to Michelle Obama at a state banquet, not some random ambassador’s wife.

I’ve always maintained that the baby shower was a turning point for QE2 when MM’s true Kardashian colours were shown.

I think TLHMQ had the measure of her long before the baby shower …..

Even by Harry’s own account it was one sausage 😆

I can't believe that the RF would be so hard up that they'd have to skimp on rations for children. More likely he's either made it up or completely misremembered something from their childhood.

What a miserable way to live.

Of course not! As if they'd keep him short of food!

She certainly did. But the baby shower was a tipping point for the press / public as well.

Essentially, I think Meghan, being American, didn’t really understand what the BRF is. She confused it with celebrity, by marrying the Prince Harry she’d seen in Hello! (of course she had no idea who he was before their first date…). She really thought that she’d be a princess living in a fairytale castle, with A-listers on speed-dial. But, alas…

Yes, you can see how that would trigger him becoming a professional victim.

I don't think Harry has ever claimed that; I was just making the point that I'd feel very differently about him being given less food than about him getting the smaller room in his grandma's castle!

Yes, the smaller bedroom in whatever Castle or Palace he was living in. 🙄
Talk about wildly out of touch! I shared a bedroom with my sister until I went to university, in fact at one point, both of my sisters.
He has no idea of his immense privilege, yet still promotes himself as a victim! Unreal.

I wonder what she would talk about if she were on royal duties, certainly not British culture and history, she doesn't seem to have embraced British royal culture and mocking a curtsey was just ignorant.

Yes, it's clear from her various witterings over the years that she had no fucking idea what the BRF and its role is and what the reality of the role of being a working member of it is. She had every opportunity to find out too, ahead of marrying Prince Harry, but no, instead of seeking to understand the institution she was about to join, to take up the offers of help from Sophie or Lady Hussey, she didn't want to waste her time, since she was deluded enough to think that she, a D-list actress from LA, would be the one to 'modernise' it 😆

Yeah, she wasn't some 19 year old ingénue. She was a woman in late her 30s, already divorced, been round the block. She didn't think to inform herself or take advice? I find that both astoundingly arrogant and ignorant.

she would only be too delighted to tell the Sultan of Oman about her proctor and gamble letter.

MM & her glamorous girl crew hired a plush suite at a NYC hotel for a big, bold baby shower, ahead of Archie’s birth. It was all very SATC, MM was papped throughout her stay in the city, in varying fabulous outfits. The party itself was splashed everywhere. Including expensive gifts being delivered to the hotel, in the least discreet fashion. It was very OTT. The antithesis of the RF. So brash!

I’m very sure stern words were had with MM. Maybe even directly from the boss lady.

Thank you, I'd never heard of the baby shower debacle.

Badvocthebad · 22/10/2026 14:16

Still can't get over her comment that the last 7 years have been the worst of her life. Her son is 7.
H says the last 10 years have been the best of his life.

I think that both children will wonder about this. It's at best entirely self absorbed and thoughtless, at worst, a shocking attitude to parenting.

cheezncrackers · 22/10/2026 14:18

She's been married to PH for eight years and the last seven have been the worst of her life. Yep, I can believe that. The first year she was still deluded about how fabulous it was to be 'a Princess', just like in the The Princess Diaries 🙄

She could have done, though! She broke the standard mould for marrying into the family and initially she was warmly welcomed and popular with the public. Had she played the game, she absolutely could have become credited with being a breath of fresh air in the stuffy institution. Not being king and queen in waiting, she and Harry could have bent the usual rules a bit, been a bit more dynamic and really been an asset. I was really looking forward to it!

I can well believe the past 7 years have been hard beibg married to H. She's been married for 8 years, so I assume that she was happy enough for a while.

Giving H the benefit of the doubt re when it came out, it was still the same old same old so I would have thought more of an annoyance re the clash than anything else.
