Well we have had the attempted upstaging of the Welsh senate …..now the Oman state visit….we all hope that whatever advisors that they still have will not allow any thing to interfere with Aberfan! 🤞

I meant to post this on the previous thread about Harry’s potential inheritance from Charles….

I think there’s more to it than just tax planning - although that’s v important - and that’s control. The monarch controls the family through money. And that’s why Harry made such a terrible mistake falling out with William.

Anne, Edward and Andrew appear rich perhaps by our standards but their lifestyles all depend on funding from Charles. Even Andrew with all his dodgy dealings doesn’t have enough money to maintain his lifestyle on his own. He had very little income from any sources which was why Fergie got such a paltry divorce settlement. If Andrew had had guaranteed access to family trusts she wld have got a lot more. It’s all discretionary and the monarch holds that control. A lot of the value comes in the form of free/subsidised housing and staff. Anne is unusual in that she was gifted her estate outright by the Queen. As we know, it turned out Charles didn’t even own Highgrove. Harry and Meghan messed up giving up their Windsor home which was effectively a grace and favour home.

Diana and W&H won’t have got much if anything from her family because that all went to her brother Charles and is all tied up in trusts. I believe W&H got a token £1k or so.

Charles is not going to leave Harry a substantial legacy that would either go to Meghan in the case of divorce or be used by the 2 of them to set up a rival court. It’s just not going to happen. If they hadn’t fallen out, they would have lived out their days receiving an annual discretionary income from the monarch and additional funds from the sovereign grant/foreign office for carrying out official duties but no lump sum.

Not really. This interview is on the level of petty gossip. The State Dinner is international diplomacy at the highest level.

One of these things is not like the other.

Petty gossip it might be, but which one is on the landing page of every news website right now? With the exception of The Times, Harry's interview has usurped the state visit. Once again he's reduced his family to a Sidebar of Shame talking point.

diddl · 20/10/2026 17:26

Starryfifty · 20/10/2026 17:25

who is referring to ? Edward? Sophie? Anne? It is quite obvious who he is referring to as he has leaked that William won't take his calls. He is beyond ridiculous. It will end badly for him and in turn his children

Perhaps he was just talking in general terms😁

TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow · 20/10/2026 17:27

The interview by Harry in today’s press - you could be forgiven for thinking it had been deliberately set up to come out today.

To be fair, he'd have had no say on when GQ decided to air it

To be fair he does not.

But if you aren’t acting like a bitter, spiteful, whingeing twat and you don’t say bitter, spiteful whingeing twatty things, you can’t be made to look like a bitter, spiteful, whingeing twat.

Give it a few hours and we'll have Kate and Camilla looking stunning in their finest jewels and gowns.

Competing for fleeting tabloid headlines is a losers' game. Perfect for the Sussexes.

Williaminagingerwig · 20/10/2026 17:29

He's stitched himself up. Could there be a greater contrast than the stories and pictures emerging today?

jeffgoldblum · 20/10/2026 17:29

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/10/2026 17:17

Already there's clapback by a "spokesman " about they had no control over when this went out , he didn't mean William etc.

Thanks again jeff, and apologies to all those I cross posted with on the last one - that's where the above is from, and once again I seem to have got the right idea but wrong timescale

It's not quite up there with "we have to be able to say we had nothing to do with it" about Scobie's book, but does he really think we're all as stupid as he clearly is, or are we supposed to believe it automatically because, as he's said once again, "he's a prince" ? Confused

To be fair, he'd have had no say on when GQ decided to air it

Edited to add I wouldn't want to assume that, @Passingthroughagain ; he's become so malign that who's to say he didn't agree to the interview on condition he could select the date it would be shown?

Edited

Indeed!! Let’s not forget this was featured in hello ! And where did they get it ? , ham are predictable and their clapbacks are even more so!

Tonight; a state banquet.
That must eat them up, knowing that they could have been there, Meghan in a priceless tiara. Utter fools.

He and his wife are increasingly desperate, as everything they have done has failed, including the Grand Return.

Can't help thinking things must be desperate or him to specifically say he wasn't referring to William.

I can’t help thinking that there is a stench of eau de panic lingering around Harry today.

Just had a thought – if reconciling with family is so important to them, why isn't Meghan making peace with her dad? Posing in a cheap suit for a few tabloid pics is surely more forgivable than a sibling physically attacking you and pushing you into a dog bowl and your SIL making a racist comment about your baby?*

*Not that I believe for a second C did that.

Yes he’s clearly referring to reconciliation with another family and another brother standing in his way….purely coincidence that he’s on the outs with his own family!

If Harry and Meghan had to be invited to anything because they were ‘family’, I’d be seating Mr Markle right next to them.

And I’d be making sure that there were no aunty feathers or pesky candles in the way of their faces.

I'm just looking at the pictures, William and Catherine looking so attractive and dignified. Nothing like that pair in Nottingham, it's like a different world. Chalk and cheese.

He really is shameless, imagine trying to pin the blame for a non reconciliation on the brother he trashed and took the piss out of in print, for millions 💰

what a little worm.

Edited

I totally agree with this post, but wonder if there will ever be a time when W feels compelled to offer a reconciliation due to public pressure or something? I mean if they were just anonymous aristocracy I imagine W wouldn’t speak a word to him ever again, and who could blame him, but if public mood shifts in favour of a brother reunion, will they do an Oasis?

Yes.

Returning to Salt Island was clearly a move born of desperation. It was all so different way back then when they thought they were going to become California A listers. But their arrogance, laziness and sheer lack of any marketable talent put paid to that.

Now two months in to their Great Return, it's clearer than ever that there is no way back for them. Still no official security, 'engagements' on an industrial estate, and Harry's family keeping a very clear wall between them. Tonight's State Dinner in Windsor is just going to emphasise how far they have fallen.

So what's next? Everything has failed and they're back doing a pound shop version of the life they flounced out of. What options do they have left to them?
