One of the things I've always envied about the RF is the wide variety of knowledge they build up from all the various visits they do and the people they meet. They're very well briefed and Princess Anne, in particular, is known for her expert knowledge of all the charities and organisations she is patron of. They seem able to talk to anyone about any subject, a skill which I really admire as there are so many aspects of life that I have little knowledge of
And then we have H, bless him, who still hasn't grasped the basics
A letter is sent out by the Lord Chamberlain and H complains that he wasn't given sufficient time to approve it
A decision is made at Sandringham and H says he's not tied to it as he didn't agree with it
H was disgruntled as he wasn't able to wear the insignia he wanted at HMTQ's lying-in-state (he wasn't entitled to it)
I think, even if he hadn't married M and got into the mess he's got himself into, he would never have achieved the same level of expertise the other Royals have as he just doesn't have the intellectual capacity and willingness to learn that the WRF have
He just doesn't seem to have grasped what the basic rules are and I felt his statement in the recent GQ interview when he said "Because I'm a prince" just about summed up his attitude to his life ~ he expects everything handed to him on a highly polished gold salver whilst the real RF are reading their briefing notes and talking to everyone from elderly Mrs Miggins in an old people's home to Heads of State at a banquet
