Well we have had the attempted upstaging of the Welsh senate …..now the Oman state visit….we all hope that whatever advisors that they still have will not allow any thing to interfere with Aberfan! 🤞

I guess Harry won’t be getting a million dollar payday for a Diana documentary from
Netflix, small mercy’s in a huge crises for Netflix.

And one child actually told him to f** off. Speaks volumes

I don't think he is any good at all with teenagers.

She also brought up two very nice children - I don’t know much about Freddie, he stays low key but seems to have a solid, sensible marriage with Sophie Winkleman. Lady Gabriella seems lovely and one can only have sympathy for her sad situation.

We honestly know very little about what Royals and Royal adjacent get up to when off duty but I did see something, must have been an interview somewhere, where Freddy reminisced about the fun they all had as young cousins, chasing around together at family occasions. I think there are quite a few in that generation who are quite close and presumably remain close to William, with their own children getting to join the tribe in their generation.
Harry, A&L forever on the outside looking in.
A great shame for A&L but there it is.

I agree this is the real sadness and it has nothing to do with riches, royalty or status. I had the best childhood with 62 cousins (big Irish family) - we were just allowed to run riot at family events. I am close with many of them now in my 50s and my own DCs have had great fun with these cousins DCs too. It’s such a gift. Somehow the bond is just natural connection maybe because the parents are more relaxed and set the tone at family gatherings. PH will be looking at his own DCs and seeing with horror that he hasn’t given them this warm fun experience for their childhood and the opportunity of life long trusted loving friendships.

MM on the other hand wouldn’t even know or see this as an intrinsic nurturing childhood gift because she didn’t have it herself.

I mean Zara and Mike are hardly camping in a cramped cottage - they live in a huge farmhouse, albeit owned by Princess Anne, with a swimming pool, stables, gym and home cinema.

Yes of course but what I mean is it might be saving them money but it's not actually giving them any iyswim.

Obviously also practical for stabling etc.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/10/2026 14:58

Bigcat25 · 21/10/2026 14:46

Harry doesn't realize he's discredited though. He would consider those claims baseless.

I've no doubt you're right, Bigcat, but what Harry does and doesn't realise no longer counts for very much since it doesn't change reality, and not being able to cope with that is very much a "him" problem

Admittedly in some ways it's a problem for the RF too, but the more he discredits himself the less they have to worry

HAM think only of each other. Their children don't even get a look in. Their children are missing out because of their parents appalling behaviour

Yes these are the kind of perks of being part of the RF. It’s a life of service that is rewarded. Meghan got the wrong end of the stick about it all. The baby shower was the first sign of this (okay, and the Hollywood wedding guests). She wanted more.

He is terrible with children. I hate that fake high five thing he does, quite humiliating for them when he does that. I saw footage of him being introduced to someone (soldier i think) who had a pony and H was doing that horrible teasing thing where he pretended to have food in his hand.

Yeah the "one of the lads" banter he could pull off in his 20s, just comes over as "lame dad" in his 40s.

I am fascinated by how they are at home as they really struggle to relate to children when they are out and about. It makes me wonder if they spend a lot of time with the Hamlets.

IIRC Zara got some money from the QM family trust fund - although not as much as Harry.

I've seen their income estimated to be around £2-3 million a year - mostly from sponsorship and media deals.

We would have no idea but both seem so awkward/uncomfortable with children. They speak very oddly about their own children too. It's as if they are reading from a script on how children "should be" iykwim? Lili loves pink. A loves football. A screams and clings to h when he retires home (from where, who knows). Meg having Lili pose at her feet before the Geneva roundabout speech. A
loves her so much (?)

I was just wondering this… For all the Mom talk, I think Meghan probably has a lot of help (especially from Doria when the kids were small). She spends time working (getting her hair done etc…). Harry, what does he do all day? Is he a SAHD? They must have a nanny, can’t imagine them on the school run…

Nobody really knows how much the different great grandchildren got from this 'trust fund'. It's all just speculation. I'm sceptical that Harry got more than all the others. What was so special about him?

@Guggy
“From KC3 he might want the basics for his son and grandchildren - to be safe and housed - which might mean use of a UK property and funding private security - if they are truly broke. He did the same for his gross brother.”

Can you honestly see HaM accepting an old fashioned farmhouse stuck out in the country ?

It's a very nice farhouse and an enormous amount was spent on it before he deigned to move in and slum it! It's in a handy spot for the shops, Tesco, Sainsburys and The Range are quite close as well as being close to the beach. What's not to like??

I do wonder if Meghan is as close to Doria as she likes to make out, but who really knows.

I also have no clue what either of the Sussexes do all day. The weird way they speak about the children, and the frequency with which they leave them, makes me think they don't spend a huge amount of time with them. So they have an awful lot of time on their hands. Neither has a real job, and neither seems to have any real interests either, other than clapping back at the latest silly rumour. So I really don't know what they do to fill their time.

I'm guessing that this is how H&M thought that they could earn & perhaps view Zara as having a HIHO?

Of course she doesn't have a title & I think also isn't HRH.

Most of all though people are willing to work with her!

If they'd had any sense at all, they would have tried to emulate Zara.

Sure, Zara has genuine sporting talent, but it's in a fairly obscure sport. Let's not pretend that she hasn't profited massively from being the Queen's granddaughter. If she weren't a member of the royal family, most of us would likely never have heard of her.

She's free to pursue commercial interests because she doesn't receive public funds and doesn't represent the Monarchy. The Sussexes could have done that too and if they'd taken advice and given up their bitterness could probably have built a very nice life for themselves. But of course they couldn't.

Never would have happened.

Sarah Ferguson received a very modest settlement . Diana received millions as mother of a future Monarch .
Not sure Harry will be able to afford a huge settlement and if KC gets involved ( doubtful) there will conditions attached .

But neither Sarah or Diana trashed the monarchy for money, I can't see why anyone other than Harry should give her a payout in the event of a divorce, she'll want to keep hold of the two golden tickets at least until they cease to have any monetery value to her. Hopefully anything he gets when Charles dies will be well secured in Trusts she'll not be able to access. There would be no point in giving her a large settlement conditional on her silence, we all know she's a liar and also has so many puppets to speak for her.

In order to use the Zara model for self sufficiency they would have to have had a talent of some sort, while Zara's position obviously helped her with contacts etc, the horses only respond to skill, they don't know whose derriere is in the saddle! Neither H nor M have any discernible talent, she was in some cable TV programme, that's all, her main talent seems to be using people.

diddl · 21/10/2026 15:38

Of course which is why I think (although I may be wrong) that they were also hoping to be funded to a degree as working Royals?

Not sure about that though.

I'm sure he made a lot with the book, the Netflix series,... but I read they spend 1 million a year on security

Think it’s a lot more than 1million a year on security…. and I believe that’s one of the main reasons they are back.
H wants security paid by others very badly indeed.
