Well we have had the attempted upstaging of the Welsh senate …..now the Oman state visit….we all hope that whatever advisors that they still have will not allow any thing to interfere with Aberfan! 🤞

I definitely don't think Meghan will be invited to the coronation. And once harry wouldn't have gone without her but I think now he would (scowling).

Then Auntie Anne will need a bigger plume! Would they invite him without her? For Charles's coronation they made the excuse that it was deliberately taking place on Archie's birthday so being a good Mommy she stayed home.

AmandaHoldensLips · 21/10/2026 11:13

If I were Kate I would never want to set eyes on either of them again. Particularly M. I think the chances of them ever being in the same room together between now and hell-freezing-over is zero.

Yes but she was photographed “ hiking” with Marcus and others !

This is where I disagree. I think even if they have issues, they'll never divorce.

High profile marriages are pretty much brands at this point. They have this "us against the world" image. Harry is being lauded by many as the man who put his wife first above everything and everyone.

They'll never divorce. The humiliation would be too great

They can’t be a viable brand if they are not generating revenue from that brand - I would suggest their brand value is now negative effectively The Ratner Royals - diminished solely by their very own words, actions and behaviours.

Sophie was a total outsider, she learned.
Catherine has learned.

(caveat solidly low WC immigrant family here so no idea really but I'll give my two pence nonetheless)

What I do think though, is that being Upper MC or of a gentry-level family based in the UK would give other married-in non-royal spouses a few transferrable skills. I.e. some are educated and raised mixing in circles where they know how to keep the family name out of the mud, how to smooth connections in a non-grift low key way, they understand how important it is to mingle successfully that sort of thing.

I think iirc Sophie is descended from a Viscount by way of a grandmother, and attended private school.

I think a hasty marriage (counselled against by the RF) to someone so totally outside it, as MM is, and also so wholly unwilling to learn and unable to adapt, was part of the disaster.

Lifestooshort71 · 21/10/2026 11:27

I agree that a divorce is unlikely but a conscious uncoupling? Possibly, with MM in the US and the children (and H?) shuffling back and forth. H won't realise what's happening but the rest of us will!

I don't think it's class. I think it's intelligence and adaptability. People are there to help you learn, so you learn. It's out of your comfort zone? You get support and you learn some more.
Catherine and Sophie have been clever enough to work it out. They're also wise enough to understand that it's not all about them.

I think the weird stuffed jam thingy is a dog toy. Looks like it's sitting on the corner of a dog bed on a wood floor. I've seen similar here; 'brand name' items turned into stuffed dog toys. They tend to be a 'freebie' at functions given by the brands. My son has one that's a brand name tequila bottle stuffed toy. You can also find them at places that have storefronts at their factories or in tourist areas. What her point is in doing one I have no idea.

I will admit that I was sort of 'introduced' to the Aberfan disaster by The Crown. I'd heard of it in passing but that episode really brought it home. I also did some reading about it after that episode. I simply cannot imagine the horror and devastation. That anyone could possibly treat that date as a way to get attention or to aggrandize themselves would be beyond belief. But then along comes HaM and a lot of my beliefs of "X would never do Y, no one would do something like that" have been blown to perdition.

And I have to admit I loved that Catherine wore a tiara that was so closely associated with Diana. I don't quite believe it was intentional, but then again.......

I agree about the freebie dog toy - is she moving into pet products? IIRC she gifted people dog biscuits a few years ago

The tiara is Catherine's "go to" tiara - it's the one she wears multiple times a year and only rarely wears others. TBH I think the pearls probably worked best with the yellow gown

I just don’t get their argument regarding the Sandringham agreement, saying they no longer agree to it.

They don't get that they don't have the power here and that the RF does. As far as the RF are concerned, Sandringham agreement still holds and HaM are out. It's irrelevant whether they agree to it or not.

It's like being fired from your job (which essentially they have been) and saying 'I don't agree I've been fired, I want to come back to the office, when can I come back to work?' while your manager's saying loud and clear 'You don't work here any more, and BTW, you don't represent us.'

And I wonder if H has realised that the palace listened to his maunderings yesterday (as I'd expect them to do) and HM tailored that bit of his speech as a response.

Although following the job analogy, didn't they sort of hand their notice in to the CEO and burn every bridge on the way out....then say, well, I'm ignoring my P45 now because i have decided I'm still working here, I want my desk back and why is Steve using my mousemat.

Yes. We hate our jobs it's too much, I'm tired and stressed. But I want the salary, car, holiday allowance and to go to the staff parties. Oh and you're mean!

💯

I’m inclined to think that the use of the swan emoji was also Meghan trying to identify herself with Diana. Again.

And yesterday the current Princess of Wales wore a brooch effectively saying 'fuck you' to that.

IMO this is already in play by MM but her STBXH hasnt a clue. She’s in the discard phase of the standard narc relationship (idealise, devalue, discard) - but the timing will suit MM once they have acquired as many assets from KC3, once PH and the kids are full of glitter to finance her post divorce life

What assets do you imagine they will receive from KC ?
Strikes me they are well and truly out.
I am sure KC is sad but he is also angry .

I was listening to Neil Sean again while waiting for a bus. Neil casually mentioned that Harry plans to represent himself when Sentebale goes to court!!

I am hoping that someone will live blog the court case so that we can have a designated thread. 😁

Surely M will be reprising the extensive legal expertise she gained from playing a small role in a tv soap some years ago , and representing him? A smart Armani suit and some killer heels and she will wipe the floor with any passing QC the Sentebale lot can rustle up, what with her legal knowledge, her dignified presence, her cutting interrogation of witnesses, her heartfelt pleading, her winning smile, her ability to connect sincerely and emotionally with the judge , the jury ( if there is one) , the warmth of her genuine and caring personality, the delicious little hand wrapped wild flower sprinkled treats she offers round at lunchtime will all combine to make it a slam dunk. Sentebale might as well give up now and save themselves the money and the embarrassment.

BemusedAmerican · 21/10/2026 11:46

I don’t think for a moment that the King did. Diplomatic speeches are too important for that, and are carefully constructed over time.

I think the point being made was of close links with the Omanis over generations. I do wonder if that was why the Crown Prince was the second guest for this state visit, rather than the Sultan’s wife.

diddl · 21/10/2026 11:55

This is what I'm wondering-if it's money they are after, where are they hoping to get it from?

The Royals have their money pretty well tied up I would think.

Also, as far as I'm aware Zara & Peter both live with Anne now, well on her estate so they're hardly splashing the cash unnecessarily!

Where is all this royal glitter for the kids actually coming from? They’re as far from the royal family now as they were in California. They have no association whatsoever. It’s not happening.

I think it's worse because before the geographical difference gave an excuse to the lack of closeness. The completely different culture and lifestyle meant it was possible to claim that their choices were different but just as valid. Whereas now they just look desperate, pathetic, lonely and foolish. It's very sad for the children.

Not sure if anyone on here goes on tiktok but this seems to compare Harry's latest interview with one of meghans from their netflix documentary they sound similar

Also im not sure if harry actually hears himself talking about people writing books and interviews about him when he is literally doing books and interviews about other people 🤔

But that will be an old Armani suit. She is not the Princess Royal , happy to recycle clothes.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 21/10/2026 12:21

What assets do you imagine they will receive from KC ?

I would not put it past MM to either be hanging out for a substantial divorce settlement or something in the royal will; and given that KC has centenarians or near centenarians on both sides of immediate family in her place I wouldn't hang around for the latter, despite his cancer.
