Well we have had the attempted upstaging of the Welsh senate …..now the Oman state visit….we all hope that whatever advisors that they still have will not allow any thing to interfere with Aberfan! 🤞

No-one who hasn't been brought up in it has any idea 'what they're getting into' when they marry into the royals. That's why she was offered people who could help her learn and negotiate it. Diana struggled and she grew up around the royals.

Sophie was a total outsider, she learned.
Catherine has learned.

He has turned out to be a very odd, unpleasant man. The unexpected way he turned on Catherine showed he is prepared to act as an attack dog, which makes him a risk in the future.

How was an ‘operation thaw’ ever going to be feasible without an abject apology and promise to his family and country that he will not repeat the behaviour?

Because he will not acknowledge that the problem is their behaviour over the last 7 years. It's always someone else's fault.

This.

Plus I have never seen any evidence that the so called Project Thaw existed outside Sussex wishful thinking and his subsequent behaviour has shown how unwise the palace would be to give him a role (I don't think Meghan wants one). Harry is his own worst enemy, as ever.

Very true

I will admit that I was sort of 'introduced' to the Aberfan disaster by The Crown. I'd heard of it in passing but that episode really brought it home. I also did some reading about it after that episode. I simply cannot imagine the horror and devastation.

There is a documentary on IPlayer about the disaster. It largely concentrates on the efforts of the village to get compensation for the disaster and the removal of the tips (and it shows how government at the time was an absolute bloody disgrace with the way they were treated), but it does show the scale of the disaster and the rescue efforts - made all the more poignant and dreadful because it's all in black and white.

It's called Aberfan - The Village That Fought Back on BBC2.

You forgot "and apologise because it's All Your Fault".

It’s All Your Fault, volume 2 of Spare next Christmas (available to buy at What Ever).

So tiresome, isn't it?

Thank you 🙏🏼.
I do wish that more people understood that The Crown is a work of fiction.

Because they were prepared to accept help, do the work and they took their time before marrying.

I think the latest interview just confirms what many of us have been saying. Harry has absolutely no ability to reflect and see how his actions are perceived by others. He genuinely still thinks he's the victim. He also seems to think that the past 7 years have not happened, and that's he still the jolly prince beloved by the British public. But he isn't.

He and his wife are increasingly desperate, as everything they have done has failed, including the Grand Return. As his family host a State Visit in Windsor, he is sat whining to an American magazine about his pathetic life. There's really a chasm between them, but the fool Harry doesn't realise it.

H and M come over as shallow and self serving whingers with no ability to reflect on how their actions and words affect others.

The more they say the worse they look.

Ignore them is tge best option for W

I would imagine if I had fallen out with my sibling, then had to get through both my father and my partner falling ill with cancer at the same time without their support, I would conclude I could live without them.

Same. Harry thinks his situation with his family is ‘very relatable’. Well if it is, Haz Hmm, it’s from William’s perspective you buffoon!

It is because he is otherwise known as “Dances with Bins” 😎

Absolutely 💯. I think more than her inability to grasp her royal role, was being unable to let go of everything she’d built herself pre-H. But it wasn’t much… TV show, her blog. Hence how she referenced The Tig when promoting As Ever, as if it had been a big deal at the time.

The A-listers only turned out because they were invited to a royal wedding. MM certainly did not mix in Hollywood circles, Montecito was not the hob-nobbing hub she’d envisioned. She did think PH was marrying HER rather than the other way around. That’s her fatal mistake.

As far as half in half out is concerned, they are now neither viable as royals or commercially. Had they listened & understood… If As Ever was to be a success MM would need to be on US TV right now wearing a Santa hat, flogging her wares. Not cosplaying Princess of Nottingham.

It just seems so odd, when it was so apparent that he had a very warm relationship with Catherine. Presumably it was also apparent to Meghan, and she felt threatened by it.

Badvocthebad · 21/10/2026 08:47

The world is a very different place since January 2020 and the "freedom flight".
People have no patience for the constant mis steps and whining of a very privileged 40 something man.
HaM are not needed and, arguably, the RF is better off without them.
My feeling is that HaM will claim the Sandringham agreement is not legally binding as nothing was signed and no nda insisted upon - I really could see a legal fight. He is that stupid.

Chaostheory12 · 21/10/2026 08:48

Someone needs to take him by the scruff of the neck and give him a good shake. Then carry him a long long way away and dump him there. Somewhere he can't get back.

Badvocthebad · 21/10/2026 08:49

Love the Times article!

Dontevenlookatme · 21/10/2026 08:50

I watched H’s interview in full.

My overriding impression is that it was extremely dull, rambling and uninspiring. There was a lot of self referencing, he sees himself as having wisdom to impart but in reality there’s no substance behind what he’s saying that could be of use to anyone.

He seems to think he’s doing important work and yet he can’t string a sentence together that demonstrates what that is.

He also came across as brittle and short tempered. There was no evidence of the warm and jokey Harry that the media seem to see. Even when he was exchanging so called banter with the interviewer it felt snippy. If that’s the way he responds to interviewers you can understand why they’re reluctant to push him. I don’t think it can have been a pleasant experience.

The only part of the interview I engaged with:

H - “I’m a Prince!”
Interviewer - “So?”

Badvocthebad · 21/10/2026 08:50

I wonder if M will come back to the uk after Xmas?
Its hardly been the warm welcome either expected

Thanks for another new thread!

My thoughts:

Catherine looked amazing and I loved the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara, you've got to wonder if there was a bit of Fuck You in that as Diana famously wore that a lot. Because she was Princess of Wales, as Catherine is now though

Respect to the King for the welcome and for praising William

Harry still needs to STFU and FTFO but probably won't

The BRF are still playing a blinder by grey rocking and keeping extremely calm and carrying on

I wonder if the gruesome twosome will just piss off again? I hope so.
