No I suppose it wasn't an "official" allocation, but 4 of them turned up, according to Tom Sykes, ex RR, who was reporting a live stream. Possibly more than turned up for the actual royal event in Wales today. He says this was being covered by them in the same style the RR would cover a royal event - a select pool going into the event, pooled copy, pooled photographs etc.
He's been speaking to Duncan Larcombe (founder member of the RR) and Robert Jobson this afternoon, who said this event, its coverage by royal reporters and royal style of execution (walkabouts etc)is making a mockery of the Sandringham agreement (both were highly critical and mystified about them still being on the royal website). Jobson is calling it a rival royal court by stealth and half in half out in effect, all being facilitated by slavish coverage by the legacy media. It doesn't matter if it's actually crap, as they get the fame and column inches they want anyway,
I watched some of Sykes' coverage, and he's been pretty scathing about how it all went down. He was speaking to the few people in the crowd, who were in the main treating this as a royal visit. I think a royal is a royal is a royal to many who will have no idea what the Lord Chamberlain said or meant. Sykes said there was little knowledge amongst the crowd of what the Sussexes have done. It looked pretty dismal too. Press far outnumbering onlookers, save for the 3rd event, but even that he described as being full of randomers - curious onlookers rather than fans. On the other hand, Meghan wore clothes and said she's, "Happy to be back" which will make all the headlines🙄and nobody was booing them - unlike Charles in Wales who had the "Not My King" crowd shouting at him. I think we can guess who will be on the front pages tomorrow.
