I feel sorry for the children . HaM will have a lot of explaining to do when they are older .

I commented on the previous thread. My kids asked why they don't see their paternal grandfather and it was difficult for me to navigate. How on earth will two emotionally stunted people like HAM address this issue? Why don't we have a relationship with our grandfather and uncle?? Kings of England??

When I saw the cricket yesterday, I did think how lucky we are to have W. I do believe in a constitutional monarchy but I do accept it is the luck of the draw with who will be the heir. W is warm, genuine and charming. He’s also handsome and sporty. I don’t know much about cricket but he looked like he was handling himself well yesterday. His genuine interest in the sports the majority of the public actually care about makes people who aren’t normally into the RF take notice - his interest in football has definitely made him go up in favour with the men in my family, even my socialist republican dad!

Yes he's a real natural & seems to be genuinely interested in all who came to see him. He will make a great King.
His grey rock approach to H&M is brilliant, like Catherine he just keeps calm & carries on.
As the saying goes "A lion never takes notice of the opinion of a sheep"!

This exactly. Their grandfather Markle ,all the Markle side, their Uncle William, Aunt Catherine, Uncle William, George, Charlotte, Louis, Camilla, extended family & also Harry's old friends children.

It is going to be soooo obvious in the run up to Christmas just how isolated the whole family are. H&M are going to hate it!

The spin is, HAM heading to Cali for Xmas. But they H is apparently disappointed he didn't get a Sandringham invitation (another grievance) !

I predict that Harry & Meghan are going to start using A&L through the mediato gain sympathy & force a way back in to the fold..

I can foresee
"A&L are so so sad & feel excluded as all the family were in Sandringham for Christmas but they weren't invited "

And it will be all spun out in the media...
"A&L are sad as they never met their first cousins & Uncle William & Aunt Catherine "

Where did you see it?

Way down the page as I was scrolling the news. Maybe a timing on my part when I checked the news but usually headline news stays up for quite some time. I often see headlines on Harry or Meghan that stay up for some time before being replaced with other news. So it just seemed odd to me that William's wasn't.

swedishrhapsody · Yesterday 19:21

A&L are sad as they never met their first cousins & Uncle William & Aunt Catherine

Which would be a cunning plan if the below wasn’t true.

“what the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't grieve over”.

They will likely be sad at not seeing Doria for a while and maybe their friends in America.

But this would be a nonsense.

Williams cricket mall event didnt even make hesdline news. Infact most of the things he does doesn't. Seems a bit of PR disaster if it isn't making headlines particularly as his role is also about bringing more publicity to organisations.

Sadly this is true - he needs Catherine with him to play a bit of cricket in her Aquazzuras, preferably with a different hairstyle/colour. George as wicket keeper would be a bonus of course. None of them as silly mid on though.

But everyone knows why…. It won’t generate an iota of sympathy, just more derision for the parents whose fault it is. Unless they’re utter simpletons, they must know this.

Not every event William does is about PR or trying to get maximum press coverage. William doesn't care about getting as many cameras around him and appearing on the front pages every day. The cricket was just a fun, informal event in connection with the Earthshot awards in India, it wasn't meant to be some major engagement. I'm pretty sure his visit to India next month, possibly accompanied by Catherine, will be a huge media event.

I get the feeling that, while for the LateQueen and her generation, being seen was the main concern - for William it is about networking based on causes and shared aims. He doesn't have to worry about being seen, in the way QE2 did in the days before TV. It is what he is seen doing, and how, that matters.

How ridiculous a statement is that ? 😂" in fact most of the things he does doesn't" (sic) 😂 . You yourself featured on the ridiculous thread with the unsavoury image of a member of the public while William was in Bute recently.

It won't generate one bit of sympathy & they have nobody to blame but themselves What kind of idiots take that kind of royal childhood & experiences away from their child & then try and get it back again!

As I've said above, the Danish situation was quite different.

If you start removing people from the LoS, which btw would be a huge procedure which would require the approval of all the Overseas Realms, simply because you don't like the way they've behaved, you call into question the whole concept of Monarchy. Not even Andrew was removed from the LoS. The idea that this will happen is a bit of a fantasy.

I agree, but if it actually came to it and Harry or Andrew inherited I think we would end up with a republic.

some posters seem to confuse royal and celebrity.

Harry and Meghan are soap stars, William is a professional, he’s not ambling around leading soldiers in shorts and flip flops generating clicks,

They are operating in different spheres.

Exactly H&M are Eastenders whilst William & Catherine are Downton Abbey (upstairs of course!) or The Crown!
They are not on the same social or cultural level at all!

You didn't understand the post did you?

Probably not. 😁

I was still too busy laughing at the thought of Alison Hammond having to draw the crowds in for the Sussex two.

Kingsandqueenz · Yesterday 20:24

It was a massive snub from the Clooneys not to invite H&M to their charity gala, all these snubs & being left off the guest list will be so obvious now they're back in the UK😄

KCitsweyourHammiewevecomehomenow · Yesterday 20:30

The Wales are A+ list, the Sussex’s are most definitely not.

Like a toddler they just want attention and don’t consider whether it’s good attention or bad attention.

Mossyfox · Yesterday 20:34

IcedPurple · Yesterday 18:23

I don't even think they're relevant now.

They're fairly high up the LoS but there's no realistic chance of them ever being near the throne. They are never seen at royal events or with other members of the family. Harry's cousins' children are lower down the LoS and not the King's grandchildren, but they are often seen at royal family events. Even Beatrice's stepson Wolfie is more 'relevant' than Archie and Lili in that sense.

Archie and Lilibet aren't relevant. They've never been at a royal event. H & M are utterly out in the cold. There's no coming back. Imho.

Ha Eastenders! I can see it now, Archie and Lily as adults screaming at King Charles, you ain’t my grandfather! And KC shouting Yes I am! Duff duff duff.
