Wish you could hear me laughing.

This has tickled me. I think i will use it forever more when things go wrong.

I think it's clear that Andrew got given 15m in dirty money from a Trade Envoy contact in return for a passport or a gong (forget which, think it was the former), papered as a sale of the property which was a wedding gift from his mum. Within 12 months the house was bulldozed.

I think (?) the house stood empty for longer than that before being bulldozed, but surely £15 million would be well above the going rate for a passport or award?

I don't know what Fawcett/Charles were charging when flogging the same, but didn't think it was as much as that?

The thing is, “dumb mistake” and “informed opinions” don’t go together in the same sentence.

Raj Persaud was suspended for 3 months in 2008 for plagiarism. He did not correctly attribute others' work in several articles and in a popular science book.

There was no question raised regarding his clinical knowledge, or any concern regarding his treatment of patients.

A more detailed report of the hearing is here
BMJ report 2008

He was suspended from July to October 2008, and has remained on the register with no concerns since then.

Its been 30 years, come on now. Do we have to mark every 5 year anniversary, every birthday, every Christmas without her?

Strictly amateur psychology here, but PH seems to feel that if he doesn't constantly remind everyone about Diana and that he's her son, she'll be forgotten and he'll have no emotional anchor in his life to make it meaningful.

The same with all their press releases and leaks and 'sources say' about their activities and their plans and their children - if they don't remind the public they exist, who are they really?

"Their sides" as if they're diplomats or politicians! That makes me laugh.

If my memory serves me, I don't recall H jumping on the grief grift bandwagon before he stepped down as a working royal. 10 year anniversary? He was what 22? Nothing then. 20 year, he and his brother did something. Call me cynical but........🙄

You are more generous than me @MrsDanversGlidesAgain as my last sentence would read that he will have no way of making money if she’s forgotten about.

I remember when he was a young man, perhaps when he was in the army, he was asked about the loss of his mother. He dismissed it with words to the effect; "lots of blokes have lost their mum", which I thought was very sensible at the time.
That's all changed.

I know, I'm coming at it from the angle of having lost a parent at 13. It's a feeling that something's missing that never goes away.

But I do think that it's a money making exercise as well, and my empathy for PH as a bereaves child does not preclude disgust at the pain he has caused his family by his behaviour.

I think it's a grift personally. I also notice his dead mommy and his mental health struggles are churned out when he's seeking sympathy. No coincidence his first outing with his odious wife is soon. They can't boo me. I lost my mommy and I had depression for 2 weeks 6 years ago

bluegreygreen · Today 11:07

That statement from the Leprosy Mission CEO is great.

It will be interesting to see if the Sussex Squad now attacks either her, or Raj Persaud.

I'm sure, and it's not to dismiss very real feelings of absence and loss. However, he doesn't seem to be able to process it adequately and move on, it defines him too much.

Oh yes, genuine grief does not mean that he's not prepared to deploy those tactics for sympathy and money.

Of course both can be true. You can genuinely feel loss and grief for a long time. It’s been 15 years since dad died and, while it’s not the forefront of my mind all day every day, I can still get caught out by those emotions. I can only imagine how that expands when you lose a parent as a child.

that doesn’t stop you being capable of being the sort of person who would monetise that and milk your dead relative for all they’re worth. I judge him for that. He could rise above it. I’m sure W hasn’t forgotten his mum, but she’s not his core focus in life. Nor should she be when he has his own family. You can remember and respect without being grasping.

Apologies if it’s already been posted but her “holiday collection” has now been launched in full.

https://asever.com/collections/the-holiday-collection?

Amongst it is the Parlour Collection, where you can spend $242 for two packs of playing cards, 3 bars of chocolate (80g each), cider and hot toddy mulling spices (43g each) and a scented candle.

Or the Hostess Basket, where for $211 you can get three jars of (soon to be out of date) spread, 3 different flavours of tea (12 teabags in each), a tin of flower sprinkles and two scented candles.

Or $75 for 16 pieces of chocolate dipped dried fruit (it looks revolting to me)

The Holiday Collection

Created by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, As ever welcomes you to a collection of products, each inspired by her long-lasting love of cooking, entertaining, and hostessing with ease.

Apparently a photo of Archie and Lilli "at peace with each other" makes Harry emotional.

I wonder if it reminds him of a time when he and William were children at peace with each other, and makes him sad that they are now estranged.

(I realise he brought this on himself, but the feeling could still be there, perhaps mixed with regret.)

Harry regrets nothing. He has publicly stated this

StrawberryWasp · Today 11:53

They often talk weirdly about the children.

Harry about how Archie cries when Harry comes home because of the stress of his 'job'.
Or Meghan about how she will leave her business to Lili.
Or Archie asks her not to 'work ' so much.

None of that is normal parent/ child interaction.

And this 'at peace' stuff is weird. Why wouldn't young siblings be at peace with each other?
Equally why wouldn't they be squabbling about who gets which scooter?

Normal families squabble, love each other, have peaceful moments, tear your hair out moments, parents do hard boring stuff for the kids, kids are oblivious because they're kids, kids are interested in kid stuff not worrying about their parents 'jobs.'

They are weird about those children.

I suspect Harry can only do fun jester cuddly dad. He presumes this is emotionally supportive and this is all kids need. I suspect when they cry, moan, squabble, don't respond to his hugs, he doesn't know what to do, and sees this as a problem to seek professional help for.

I wouldn't be surprised if those children already have therapists, advising their parents, not because there is anything wrong with the kids but because I suspect from what H says he doesn't have a clue how to deal with the normal messy emotions of children. As he can't deal with his own.

Lili's backpack is enormous. What on earth does she have in it?

Think it’s her private security 😃

Or else all the grief chat is affecting Harry's normal turn of phrase..
To me "at peace " is usually said when someone dies eg "I hope my father's at peace now " or "she had a long illness & hard life ,I hope she's at peace"...
It's a very odd comment to make in regards to a 5 & 7 year old sibling relationship
