I agree Jeff, he has told so many lies and cried wolf so often it’s no wonder people don’t believe him, me being one of them.

I think there's a bit of scepticism about Harry's depression claims because it's not quite clear what he means. In the grief Masterclass, he said
"Being in Canada, away from the stressful environment where presumably my body was just pumped full of adrenaline, within two or three days, I experienced this adrenaline crash, something that I’d never experienced before," he said, according to media reports.
"It was as if I needed stress in order to get the adrenaline to make my brain function because I became useless around the house.
"I actually slipped into depression for about two weeks and I felt like I couldn't function without adrenaline."

What was so stressful about his environment? If it’s as bad as he likes to portray, why is he so desperate to shoehorn his kids into it?

BunnyBunbunbun · Yesterday 18:46

(Edit to add: hadn't completed previous post before posted it).

There's a bit of scepticism about Harry's depression claims for two main reasons, from what I can tell. The first is that he's declaring this depressive episode for the first time now that he's being paid to be an "expert" on grief for a paid course for which he's being paid handsomly. It's almost as though he needs to come up with examples of his own down moments - in addition to the famous one of his mother's death that we all know about already - in order to be able to sell himself as an expert.

The second reason for the scepticism is that the depressive incident is not really clear. He says:

"Being in Canada, away from the stressful environment where presumably my body was just pumped full of adrenaline, within two or three days, I experienced this adrenaline crash, something that I’d never experienced before," he said, according to media reports.

"It was as if I needed stress in order to get the adrenaline to make my brain function because I became useless around the house.

"I actually slipped into depression for about two weeks and I felt like I couldn't function without adrenaline."

https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uks-prince-harry-says-he-fell-into-depression-he-weighed-royal-future-2026-10-09/

He seems to be saying he had an adrenaline crash because he was no longer in what he describes as a stressful environment, hence he slipped into depression because he couldn't function without adrenaline. He's effectively saying that the lack of stress led to his depression.

Considering how high he looked on his freedom flight video, I assumed he was possibly suffering a massive come down, totally in keeping with some substances.
Who knows but like @jeffgoldblum I don't immediately rush to believe everything he says, especially when it contradicts previous statements.

ETA: pumping adrenaline is a normal symptom of stimulants and it exhausts your adrenal glands leaving you exhausted and miserable.

Just saw this article this evening, Harry has "boundaries " about what can be asked in interviews, no Catherine, William or Andrew.. so it explains why he is never challenged on his inaccuracies

Lol, they ALL have boundaries. So sycophantic is the British press to the royal family it's practically censorship! When a journalist does ask a challenging question (and these weren't even challenging from Maitlis, she even asked him softly and nicely, Andrew dug his own grave!) it gets talked about for YEARS, like lore. Seriously, how else do they manage to stay where they are as they are for generations, other than by not being investigated with any degree of rigour? YEARS Andrew's Trade Envoy BS was swallowed whole. It only came apart because foreign forces started digging into Epstein. Has the press ever got to the bottom of the overpayment for Sunningdale? It may all be justified in that this version of the RF is in the nation's best interests - but no way is there any integrity to them or the press in this regard.

And where else has Harry got these boundaries from other than from the format he was used to as a working member of the RF? He's just copied and pasted using the authority he still has the monarch's son.

Can it even be called an interview when he totally controls & dictates the narrative?!

"He's just copied and pasted using the authority he still has the monarch's son."

The authority he has for what? He's not actually obliged to do any interviews. If he wants to do interviews in relation to his work - whatever that is - he doesn't actually have to talk about his relationship with his family. In what world do people's private family relationships have to be discussed in relation to their work?

It's not like he hasn't already talked endlessly about his family, with Spare and the Oprah interview and endless statements to the press. What more exactly do you think he should say when doing interviews about his charity work?

Andrew's envoy bs was thanks to the government, which expanded his role, gave him a new remit that his predecessor the Duke of Kent didn't have and sent him to places. What would the RF have to say about something that does not come under their authority and they weren't making the decisions for?

Calling someone who served 10 years in the British Army, including two tours of Afghanistan, a “loser with no achievements” says considerably more about your judgement than it does about Prince Harry. To dismiss a decade of military service, including deployment to an active war zone, as though it amounts to nothing is breathtakingly ignorant.

Harry chose to leave the Army after ten years. Further progression would have involved increasingly desk-based responsibilities, a direction he recognised wasn't suited to him. Knowing your strengths and choosing a different path isn't failure.

He subsequently went on to establish the Invictus Games, an international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans. Whatever your opinion of Harry, that is an achievement in its own right.

There's also a rather unpleasant layer of intellectual snobbery running through your comment. Not everyone is academically inclined, nor should they have to be. Some people excel academically, others are technically gifted, practically minded or thrive in entirely different environments. Why are we still perpetuating this ridiculous notion that university qualifications are the ultimate measure of intelligence or achievement?

I'm sure Prince Carl Philip's qualifications and career are perfectly respectable, but using his graphic design credentials to belittle someone else's decade of military service is a particularly bizarre comparison.

Perhaps you'd like to undertake two tours of Afghanistan yourself, serve your country for a decade, and then have someone sitting comfortably behind a keyboard dismiss you as a loser who has achieved nothing. I wonder how you'd feel about that?

You don't have to admire Harry to acknowledge his achievements. And frankly, an education is supposed to broaden your mind, not give you an excuse to look down on people whose achievements happen to be different from yours.

There seems to be this rather odd narrative - perpetuated to a large extent by Harry himself, that Harry is the only one to have served in the military and the only one to serve in a warzone.

Mostly Harry had a pretty undistinguished Army career - his low marks on the entry tests (4/10) meant he was pretty much slow-tracked and not considered a good candidate for leadership. He did do 2 short tours of Afghanistan (the first was 10 weeks and the second was 20 weeks). But it took him a sedate 2 years to get his promotion to Lieutenant, and a further 3 years to make Captain (total 5 years) and he never got promoted further.

Arguably the most heroic royal was AMW who served in the royal navy for 22 years and achieving the rank of Commander. He flew helicopters during the Falklands war - acting as a decoy to lure Exocet missiles away from ships and towards his helicopter and carrying out rescues of casualties from ships while under fire.

William served for 7 years in all three branches of the military. He achieved the rank of lieutenant in a year, and Captain 2 years later (total 3 years). He transferred to the RAF and flew in dangerous conditions as an RAF search and rescue pilot. He also flew a secret mission to Afghanistan to recover and repatriate the body of a fallen soldier. He also served a secondment to the Navy on HMS Iron Duke, where he was part of a helicopter crew that chased down drug runners in speedboats and seized 900kg of cocaine.

Charles also served in the navy for 5 years. He qualified as a helicopter pilot and for almost a year commanded a minesweeper the HMS Bronington.

Andrew allegedly used the proceeds of Sunninghill (£15 million) to renovate Royal Lodge, which somehow needs another £1.8 million spent on it now. The King is paying. Goodness, what a messy family that branch of the Mountbatten Windsors must be.

I think it's clear that Andrew got given 15m in dirty money from a Trade Envoy contact in return for a passport or a gong (forget which, think it was the former), papered as a sale of the property which was a wedding gift from his mum. Within 12 months the house was bulldozed.

Been out and about on public service ( helping at Foodbank ) so now catching up and really have to respond to this .
Firstly , we only have Harry’s version of what happened at the Sandringham Summit and we all know he has a rather distant relationship with the truth .
Secondly , Meghan did not have to go on the tour . Harry said ( can’t remember where) that the late Queen suggested she stay at home but that idea was dismissed .
Also , it is well known that the late Queen saw every member of the Royal Family after they had been on an official tour to receive an update etc .
So don’t rely on HaM for honest statements. As we were so memorably told - recollections may vary .

IIRC Meghan had almost a week off in the middle of the tour while Harry went to Angola and Malawi.

I'm pretty sure she did some paid engagements while Harry was away.

Yay! A new thread. Thank-you @jeffgoldblum 👍👍👍

I am working on the business plan for a Ginge's Geegaws × Harry at Harrods pop-up to compete with As ever. He rang me this afternoon asking me to become his Head of Revenue Optimisation. The pop-up's USP will be be the UK's first all red-head escort service, for laydees who like their men red hot. It's going to set new standards in tastefulness.

There will be a bespoke range of beard-grooming products that will include integrated freckle zappers, pube clippers with built-in curling tongues, and side-burn shapers with a blackhead extraction attachment.

Men who have spent their lives longing to be ginger will be able to have their photo taken behind a Ginger Prince panel with a hole cut out for the head. Alongside it will be a Ginger Princeling panel for their sons. The centre-piece of the pop-up will be a harry-go-round of ginger beasts, including Guy and Pula refashioned, My Little Polo Pony, Ginger Pussy, Crimson Cougar, GGG (Giant Ginger Giraffe), and Scarlet Squirrel.

At the all-red-head launch party on 25 November, guests will be served Harry's special blend Ginger Jizz Cock-tail, HaM Coq-Monsieur Bites, and Tangerine Wet Dream Tagine.

Sooo excited for my new royal-adjacent venture.

My future's bright. My future's orange.

With all due respect, I often agree with you on everything but not in this instance, I’m afraid that if someone tells lies repeatedly and changes their story constantly then no , the consequences are that people won’t believe what they say , particularly as this new bid for sympathy and jump on the mental health wagon is completely different than his own words and discription of what happened at the time in his own book “spare “ , which narrative is true? , which is a lie?
how are people supposed to know which story is the real one?
I don’t talk about it on here because it’s personal but don’t for a minute think I have no experience with mental health issues, depression and postpartum depression, because I do, I have great empathy for those who suffer from it, however I don’t extend that to people who use it as a weapon or shield for bad behaviour…..more than that I simply do not believe him , he is a liar .

Jeff, I am so sorry to hear that you suffered like this, and like so many women you didn't have a network of support, staff to help you out and medics on speed dial. It must have been tough.
MH can affect everyone, and many on here will have experiences. However, I think that I agree with you, and it's not right for anyone to claim that their suffering is unique or they were supported less than anyone else.

Oh come on now. I imagine that Meghan was prevented from availing herself of these public services because of confidentiality concerns. Someone could make an absolute fortune from any potential worries or complaints she she had about being in the RF.

The RF all have private health insurance - the sort where a doctor would come to her home if necessary. The private packages at the Portland included MH support, plus Harry had a phone full of MH contacts.

That’s a funny comparison but I actually don’t think Edward was in the country when that happened.

IIRC it was the premature birth of Lady Louise where Edwards wasn't in the country - when Sophie suffered placental abruption at 35-36 weeks.
