Well, whatever level of friendship they have with him, which, as you suggest, is probably superficial. So why would we need to hear public statements of support from them? Which I doubt he would want anyway.

My point was that - as with all people in the public eye - they have a whole private life that we know nothing about. Just because they didn't say anything in public about someone, doesn't mean anything.

I wouldn't expect any 'public statement' either, although that said, the Sussexes do feel the need to issue 'statements' about all sorts of things which have nothing to do with them.

And yes, of course they have a private life we know nothing about, but they aren't shy about letting us all know about their celebrity 'friends', most if not all of whom are PR acquaintances rather than what most of us would call friends.

Meghan attended a Catholic School and has written about that positively; and she was raised Episcopalian (echoes of which were in her wedding to H, although I think that was down to Charles); and then she was baptised into the Anglican Church so that she could marry H in a big ol’ CoE church or chapel on the telly with the archbish presiding.

Her values, unfortunately, seem to come straight out of a deranged bible for social climbers.

Her first husband is Jewish and their wedding featured many aspects of a Jewish wedding. There are also (unsubstantiated) reports that say she conveyed to Judaism prior to her wedding.

If the price of the house has rockted to nearly $30m since they moved in, surely that only proves that they are a financial draw? I'm not sure it was cheap to start with! The property that Perry owns that they did stay in temporarily has also shot up in price, no doubt because they stayed there. He is selling that, but Harry and Meghan's house has not been put on the market.

I doubt Perry owns that house. Why would they need to rent from him? I thought it was fairly established that they are the owners.

I doubt any fool would pay multiple millions extra because some globally ridiculed ‘Fuxking Grifters’ lived there - if anything it would devalue it. It’s just that the property market in that area has rocketed.

I have no idea who holds the financial interest in the property - my only point is if they were joint owners the house price inflation could put it out of reach of buying the sleeping partners share.

Did she convert to Judaism to marry Trevor?

Sorry. I just saw you’d already mentioned her first marriage.

Yes, I think home ownership documents are public record in California and it's been shown that they do own the house.

As for the theoretical value of the home, any property is only 'worth' what an actual person is actually prepared to pay for it.

Chat tells me it is owned directly by H&M thru a company. However no idea how it was financed. Could well have been a loan from a friend who has called it in. Or could be their own mortgage,

It's intriguing, though, to think she may have converted to Judaism - presumably within the Cali Liberal tradition?

ETA: If she did convert, that might have implications for A&L's places in the Line of Succession. Oooh.

Lifestooshort71 · 08/10/2026 12:43

A bit out of touch so apologies - when were H&M last photographed together - as in a proven date, not some random autumnal scene with wellies? When were they last together in the same continent?

Doubt she'd be arsed with the whole process tbh and she dumped him after 2 years. She knew it was just a stepping stone so no point converting

That's my feeling, too.

Harry had better hope so, too, if he wants A&L to stay in the LoS.

There are times I feel as if I’m living in a parallel universe.

FallenNight · 08/10/2026 12:50

Would it matter if she converted to Judaism if she then got baptized to CofE before her marriage to Harry?

Did she have to be baptized before her wedding to Harry. You don't have to be Christian to be married in a Christian church do you? So long as one of the couple has a good reason to want to use the space and the other promises to be respectful....at least that's what I thought the rule was in my local.

(married in church, both baptized, but only DH confirmed)

I very much doubt she converted to Judaism, but even if she did, it would have no impact on her children's place in the LoS.

Yeah I'm going to say the world's worst advert for therapy.

True! So someone in the depths of grief will think, yeah, that's totally my experience!
Idiot.

"Protestant Priest" jumped out at me too, I don't think I've ever heard it phrased like that Mrs Danvers😂

‘Protestant priest Chris Phillips attempted to defend his fellow holy man’ made me think of him racing to his side brandishing a crucifix & holy beads 😆@TheSaintedAutumnCrow

Anglican churches in the US are called Episcopal churches. I live literally down the block from one. They generally have great music and concerts.

I think the Page Six writer must be a Kevin O'Sullivan fan and he was giving a sweet nod to Kevin. His opening monologue on "What just happened" contains non- stop alliteration. Harry is always referred to as "The Petulant Prince". Although Kevin is unhinged with his Trump support, his HAM commentary is amusing.

Rumour was he distanced himself when they refused to pay him back

Imagine someone who is fighting sexual abuse lawsuit(s) distancing themselves from you, rather than you being the one who does the distancing?

(Can someone translate that into grammatical intelligible English??
