You only have to look at the promotional shot she did for the advent calendar. Meghan herself sits in front, she takes up most space,

With her hand up by her mouth in that pose, it looks as if she was supposed to be about to bite into one of the chocolates, Cadbury's Flake style, but they forgot the choc.

TheOvertGardener · 07/10/2026 12:10

Yes, otherwise it would have been done privately. Not touted by every news org out there.

Privately- as in the actual meaning of the word, or "privately" where HaMz tell the media that they are doing something privately as private citizens but bleat on about it so evvvvveryone knows how busy they are.

The main product that Meghan sells is herself. Everything else is secondary.

You only have to look at the promotional shot she did for the advent calendar. Meghan herself sits in front, she takes up most space, Meghan is in full focus, whereas the very expensive chocolates she is meant to be selling are further away and not in full focus.

I'm not sure who she is marketing this item at? Are adult chocolate calendars a big market in the US? Would people with $150 dollars to spend on a chocolate calendar really want one with a picture of someone-else's McMansion on it? It's really unclear who her target audience is?

I also think that As Ever's marketing was pretty confused as I was never sure who her target buyer was. The focus seemed to be on the expensive packaging rather than the product. But was she aiming for the occasional gift purchase market? - but this didn't seem to fit with the industrial product rather than - say - locally produced, organic jam or unusual flavours etc. However the expensive fancy packaging didn't seem to be targeting regular, weekly/monthly, supermarket buyers as the Betty Crocker/Bridgerton products did. Her initial launch seemed to sell out to journalists, influencers, Instagramers and Tik-Tokers who flooded the internet with "reviews" but didn't appear to be a source of repeat business.

Since then As Ever just seems to have thrown random products into the mix. The ones that are really cheap to slap your own label on a few wines, (wickless) candles and bookmarks. Then the odd decision to launch the gift boxed honey/mint tea/bookmarks in last January - was it supposed to be a Christmas gift idea that didn't arrive/wasn't ordered in time? Or was it repackaged surplus stock?

Meghan seemed to have no idea who her target, repeat customer is. She originally talked about "teens" saving up their money from a Saturday job - but do they really buy jam and tea? They certainly won't be buying the $90 wine packs not $150 chocolate calendars

The products she chose seem to target an older demographic and a gift market - but has she considered their purchase patterns? For the high prices most would expect a unique product ... locally sourced, organic or interesting flavours. But who buys mass produced, factory jam at huge prices? Perhaps a one-off gift - but not a regular order.

Contrast with the UK royals - you can get a lot more Highgrove or Duchy organic jam for the price
-As Ever strawberry spread, factory produced, for profit, sold online - £9 per 215g (very small jar) or £4.19 per 100g
-Highgrove Organic Strawberry Jam organic, profits to charity, sold in gift shops, online, Fortnum's etc. £7.95 per 340g standard jar, or £2.34 per 100g
-Waitrose Duchy Organic Strawberry Jam - organic, profits to charity, sold in Waitrose, £2.80 per 340g standard jar or 82p per 100g

At the moment As Ever appears to be run as a hobby business while Meghan attempts to restart her Tig influencer career.

The main product that Meghan sells is herself. Everything else is secondary.

I agree @Lunde.

Your comments about her promotional shots are very accurate.

I once saw an influencer-type video that she had done about a day in Toronto, when she was working there. (I watched it because I worked in Toronto for a year, so wondered if she would show places I knew.)
Similarly, the camera was focused on Meghan walking along or sitting at the table, etc, so it was impossible to see which street she was on or which restaurant she had entered.

I also notice that she has referenced 'a squad of support' in her advent post. Presumably deliberate wording, but not helpful.

Well it's moving back to Africa, just like we are told H&M moved to America, America is a big place too..
I'm not sure what you mean by "colonial upstarts" Chelsy is Zimbabwean born & bred, her mother is Zimbabwean & her father is South African. Chelsy often said how proud she was of her African heritage & her childhood surrounded by animals.

I'm getting racist vibes from your post.

What?! I'm a zimbo 😂
ETA - the PRESS don't like colonial upstarts. People from Zim were said to be colonials.
Harare is further from Mauritius than London is from Istanbul. She has not moved home.

It's just designed to make the RF look bad. 'Look, we are so humble and genuinely want to be back in the family again because we're such good people but they won't listen to us they are so cold/hard/formal'. We on the other hand are loving and go barefoot when we can.

I don't think this story about an "apology" is coming from Meghan and Harry though. It's been invented by the media.

If there was to be an apology (highly doubt it) then I think it needs to be as public and high profile as the original slander.
A new Oprah interview where the pair of them admit it was all rubbish and that they are liars complete with Oprah’s “Whaaaat?!” when M says she lied to the world.

They would need to go on Oprah again and explain all the ways theyve been awful. With complete humility and sincerity.

It’s not possible for either of these perpetual victims, in my opinion.

People Magazine is their go to for leaking and briefing. I believe People because they won’t want to make HAM angry and jeopardise the source.

Absolutely they cannot. I don’t think most of them leave the internet, anyway.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/10/2026 12:20

Do people actually believe this media fabrication about an apology?

Personally no, @BunnyBunbunbun; like many of the no-name "source" strories I believe they're most likely clickbait devised after a liquid lunch

As said though, I could easily buy that they might pretend to have apologised, in some hopeless attempt to look principled

SisterTeatime · 07/10/2026 12:23

Meghan cannot be wrong. So to her, there is no contradiction in any of her marketing. She can’t take advice. She can’t be overshadowed (eg by a news item about the Princess of Wales or Chelsy Davy). And for her it’s all about appearances and how that makes her feel (clever and important), so if she makes a post saying she’s always been an entrepreneur, in her mind that makes it true. She dresses up in a shit ton of cashmere and diamonds to promote her crappy calendar because to her, that’s the important bit - the dressing up and showing off. Not the product or the business, certainly not the customers. Just the appearance. She also probably thinks she’s very clever to be merching the jewellery in this way.

She is a megalomaniac, but so basic.

Is this really true or a myth? Do internet bullies rally together in such a squad way? Are they paid or do they merely hate on the royal family and CofE priests ?

Of course it will never happen. I just think the world needs to see the words coming from their mouths admitting all their lies and nasty behaviour.

Otherwise it will never be accepted by mad fans, although the most extreme would likely still find some excuse or another.

Public slander = public apology but a statement is not enough.

Would have to be in person, detailed and with explanation.

As well as apologising to the RF I think they need to apologise to the country because they have caused international damage.

Irrespective of any fantasy apology they will never be trustworthy so I think it won’t change their access to the RF or entirely rehabilitate their image.

It's hard to tell as only in August, H was still furious and demanding an apology.

It could be, no.1. Ravec have made their decision and it's not what HAM expected. 2. H genuinely believes he's adored by the public and isn't getting the attention he expected. 3. Panic because no Xmas invites have arrived

IF an apology is on the cards. It's purely strategic

They definitely had online meetings in the past.

AlexandraCarrington · 07/10/2026 12:29

I suppose the safest bet is to find a cathedral, abbey or big church with a gift shop

I am sitting having a coffee within spitting distance of No.1 Cathedral and its gift shop. Will go along there some time.

I looked out what I have left from last year. I had a box of charity cards from Waterstones, with angels, three kings, Bethlehem, but no actual Nativity scene.

I read she spends a lot of time in Zimbabwe & also Cape Town. I still don't understand your need to refer to Chelsy by such a derogatory title?
The article in the Daily Mail today was lovely & very kind to Chelsy, I think you are wrong about the press. I have seen similar articles over the years & all seem to like & be very respectful.

At best it would be a “We are sorry for what happened between us” type apology which is classic distancing language, not acknowledging reality and trying to share blame where none is actually attributable to the victim.
I had similar once from someone who had betrayed me very badly.
It shows someone who lacks the moral courage to admit what they did, but then of course if they had that morality they wouldn’t have done it in the first place.

I don't think Meghan thinks beyond her image in the mirror each day. Honestly.

She fails to understand that selling herself is portraying someone who’s open to offers, however dubious and cheapening they may be?
It’s not the image that anyone with a modicum of integrity would do. It makes her look cheap and increasingly desperate.

Well if that's her game Chelsy is an entrepreneur too & a qualified solicitor so she needs to try harder. Chelsy's business is also 10 years old & her products are beautiful.
I also feel she had a hissy fit because the Daily Mail featured such a glowing article on Chelsy, the comments underneath are gold!
