They really are. I'd have more respect for them if they came out and said we are desperate, please forgive us

If they do offer some sort of apology ( and I have doubts about this story ) and the RF don’t immediately welcome them back then we will have interviews about how cold hearted and cruel the Family is . Meghan - one tear left eye- will sob that she did her best.

Yes I think that will be the case.

Yes agreed. Chelsy's life in her native Africa looks idyllic. Love the way she had her fun in Europe in her twenties before moving back home to Africa & settling down.

I always think Harry would have had a wonderful life had he married Chelsy. He could have done serious conversation work on behalf of the Royal Family & live in a place very close to his heart.

Had he married Chelsy no doubt the British public would still love him, he would be on great terms with all his family as he wouldn't have sold them out & he would have gained the Davy family who he spoke very lovingly of in Spare.
Also Harry's friends adored Chelsy ,she was part of their inner circle. She is particularly close to Melissa Percy..

Oh Harry, what could have been.... delighted Chelsy got away & is living her best, idyllic life with her very handsome hubby!

The press were critical of Chelsy Davy at the time though, not keen on colonial upstarts...
(And i wouldn't say moving to Mauritius is moving home, she was from Zimbabwe. It would be like a Brit moving to Poland and saying they've moved back home, because it's in Europe.)

What a ridiculous quote. I guess it makes sense to a woman who has basically shafted everyone she has ever got close to

And she’s not even successful. So she’s saying she’s behind her own lack of success.

DancingFerret · 07/10/2026 10:28

IIRC, CS refusing Diana's request for a cottage/house on the Althorp estate during the divorce proceedings was widely reported (although that doesn't necessarily validate the story). It's old news, so why is he intending to sue Eden for repeating it?

RICHARD EDEN: Earl Spencer 'to sue Gove over podcast Diana claim'

Undaunted by the complaints he has received from Piers Morgan about a factual error in Swan Song, his best-selling memoir, Earl Spencer has begun a legal action of his own.

Well it's moving back to Africa, just like we are told H&M moved to America, America is a big place too..
I'm not sure what you mean by "colonial upstarts" Chelsy is Zimbabwean born & bred, her mother is Zimbabwean & her father is South African. Chelsy often said how proud she was of her African heritage & her childhood surrounded by animals.

I'm getting racist vibes from your post.

Mylovelygreendress · 07/10/2026 10:36

Looks like my October diary is going to be busier than Harry’s .
I have been called for Jury Duty .
No further details will be released due to security concerns .

bluegreygreen · 07/10/2026 10:37

Charles Spencer has already successfully sued two publications (the Times and People, if I remember correctly) for saying that he refused Diana accommodation.
He did withdraw an offer to allow her to stay in the Garden House, but offered alternative accommodation (some not at Althorp).

In this story, he is saying that he did not refuse in summer 1997, because she did not ask to stay in summer 1997.

"They realise Meg's claim a member of the RF queried the colour of Archie's skin was HER big mistake" to me, it sounds like meg lied.

She's lied about so much that folk are naturally going to think why not this, too, Starryfifty

There was a time when some believed them, as in "Meghan just proved the RF are racist", but once willingly given away credibility can't be retrieved and here we are

DancingFerret · 07/10/2026 10:48

HoldMyWine · 07/10/2026 08:03

It was probably a clapback to the Chelsy Davy interview, marking 10 years of her ( successful) jewellery business where she says she didn’t want to marry until she met her now husband.

If Harry's keeper allows him to read anything written by Chelsy, I hope (but doubt) he'd have enough intelligence to infer the subtext of her words - that she had never considered him as husband material.

BunnyBunbunbun · 07/10/2026 10:48

Do people actually believe this media fabrication about an apology? What form would it take? An interview on ITV with Tom Bradby? An "I'm sorry" email to Charles and William accompanied by an As Ever hamper?

HoldMyWine · 07/10/2026 10:56

Nothing that they say will feel sincere and meaningful, they just don’t have it in them.

That was only a tiny bit of it. I think the British public became dubious of her when Doria was the only one from both sides of her family to be invited to the wedding.

The cold way she cut out Thomas Markle after she said he sold photos of himself getting fitted for a suit. Yet in the typical hypocritical fashion we are used to she sold out the Royal Family for millions & the chaos her & Harry caused ruined Prince Philips & the Queens final years.

They cannot rehabilitate their image. The British family places an awful lot on family values where are Meghan's values if she can so easily ostracise her family?

Why has Harry never met his father in law? Why have A&L never met their ill 82 year old grandfather (the one who isn't King)?

AtIusvue · 07/10/2026 11:31

Megs only hope is to rinse the Sussex squad dollars. I can’t imagine anyone else willing to buy a card set with the As ever ‘original crest’

Im not sure how many of these people there are (I mean the crazy ones willing to spend $$$s and harass the clergy) maybe 500?

This is a last ditch attempt to shift stock and try and get as many of her fans to get themselves in debt for her.

I mean she is repeating the whole campaign of 18 months ago when she first launched. She’s acting as if this is day dot. If she hired an experienced team in campaigns….they weren’t going to say….do EXACTLY what you did in 2025 at the launch. It shows there is zero money and ideas going around.

I know people don't like the Mail but sitting here drinking my tea and reading some of the comments this one really struck me, and it seems to me that it pretty much sums MM up. Everything - Christmas, visiting victims, the RF - it all gets turned to her advantage, 'how can I make myself look good AND make money.'
I don't know if it's personality disorder or if it's just how she is, but what exactly is it about her that her fans find so admirable?

And yes, I'm well aware that a lot of the criticisms in this could be levelled at a lot of places selling luxury goods for Christmas, that Christmas has become massively commercialised and the original message gets lost. I doubt they'd have turned on a priest pointing out another way to do good, though.

The Son of God entered the world in a stable and was laid in an animals’ feeding trough. He lived without wealth, warned against storing up earthly riches, told the rich to give to the poor, and made humility and charity central to His teaching. Advent exists to prepare for His coming. Yet multimillionaires, reportedly dressed in around $100,000 of luxury goods, are selling a $148 “Advent calendar” to mark it. So the birth of the poor Christ becomes a luxury sales opportunity; a season of spiritual preparation becomes expensive shopping; people who already possess enormous wealth make more money from His feast; and priests who point out the grotesque contradiction are supposedly the problem. It is difficult to imagine a more complete reversal of what Bethlehem represents.

The main product that Meghan sells is herself. Everything else is secondary.

You only have to look at the promotional shot she did for the advent calendar. Meghan herself sits in front, she takes up most space, Meghan is in full focus, whereas the very expensive chocolates she is meant to be selling are further away and not in full focus.

I'm not sure who she is marketing this item at? Are adult chocolate calendars a big market in the US? Would people with $150 dollars to spend on a chocolate calendar really want one with a picture of someone-else's McMansion on it? It's really unclear who her target audience is?

I also think that As Ever's marketing was pretty confused as I was never sure who her target buyer was. The focus seemed to be on the expensive packaging rather than the product. But was she aiming for the occasional gift purchase market? - but this didn't seem to fit with the industrial product rather than - say - locally produced, organic jam or unusual flavours etc. However the expensive fancy packaging didn't seem to be targeting regular, weekly/monthly, supermarket buyers as the Betty Crocker/Bridgerton products did. Her initial launch seemed to sell out to journalists, influencers, Instagramers and Tik-Tokers who flooded the internet with "reviews" but didn't appear to be a source of repeat business.

Since then As Ever just seems to have thrown random products into the mix. The ones that are really cheap to slap your own label on a few wines, (wickless) candles and bookmarks. Then the odd decision to launch the gift boxed honey/mint tea/bookmarks in last January - was it supposed to be a Christmas gift idea that didn't arrive/wasn't ordered in time? Or was it repackaged surplus stock?

Meghan seemed to have no idea who her target, repeat customer is. She originally talked about "teens" saving up their money from a Saturday job - but do they really buy jam and tea? They certainly won't be buying the $90 wine packs not $150 chocolate calendars

The products she chose seem to target an older demographic and a gift market - but has she considered their purchase patterns? For the high prices most would expect a unique product ... locally sourced, organic or interesting flavours. But who buys mass produced, factory jam at huge prices? Perhaps a one-off gift - but not a regular order.

Contrast with the UK royals - you can get a lot more Highgrove or Duchy organic jam for the price
-As Ever strawberry spread, factory produced, for profit, sold online - £9 per 215g (very small jar) or £4.19 per 100g
-Highgrove Organic Strawberry Jam organic, profits to charity, sold in gift shops, online, Fortnum's etc. £7.95 per 340g standard jar, or £2.34 per 100g
-Waitrose Duchy Organic Strawberry Jam - organic, profits to charity, sold in Waitrose, £2.80 per 340g standard jar or 82p per 100g

At the moment As Ever appears to be run as a hobby business while Meghan attempts to restart her Tig influencer career.

For H's mental health, it would be better if he's out of the UK when William is king. It will send him into a daily rage seeing his brother and sister in law as King and Queen

Agreed. The decision in July 2024, when Harry was firmly and irrevocably locked into his self-imposed embittered exile, to host Invictus 2027 in Birmingham was extremely foolish. ‘The founding patron’ is losing his mind now he’s back in Britain, Invictus is struggling, and I can’t see the Green-LD-Ind Birmingham council coalition giving Harry and Invictus an easy ride over the inclusion of the IDF.

It's just designed to make the RF look bad. 'Look, we are so humble and genuinely want to be back in the family again because we're such good people but they won't listen to us they are so cold/hard/formal'. We on the other hand are loving and go barefoot when we can.

I didn't see any religious themed cards in the British Library shop last year. I've had some nice boxes from there before, based on illuminated manuscripts in their collections.

I suppose the safest bet is to find a cathedral, abbey or big church with a gift shop / display & honesty box arrangement.

I appreciate the pp’s point though that it’s annoying that many large shops don’t stock cards any more with nativity scenes.

Yes, otherwise it would have been done privately. Not touted by every news org out there.

If there was to be an apology (highly doubt it) then I think it needs to be as public and high profile as the original slander.
A new Oprah interview where the pair of them admit it was all rubbish and that they are liars complete with Oprah’s “Whaaaat?!” when M says she lied to the world.
