Page Six finally posted HAM at the pub today with the photos being credited to Goffphotos. When the Sun published them Friday the photos were "uncredited".

I thought I was mistaken and checked the site where I had originally saw it and sure enough I was not mistaken.

Anyone, no anything about Goffphotos?

Very strange.

TIA

This freelancer? History of rf photos but usually hired by the rf for tours etc

So likely HAM hired him to take pictures and make them look like a "chance" sighting

DH has just pointed out we are just one month away from Bonfire Night and the largest event takes place in Lewes who have a reputation of burning effigies of unpopular public figures

Lewes is in Sussex . . . .

When he was born my DB was given a soft toy, a bit like a teddy bear, but it had a plastic face fixed to the fur. It was the scariest toy I've ever seen but, strangely, DB was attached to it during his toddler years and our DP's referred to it as 'eskimo dolly'. Quite bizarre!

In the 1960s, at the company sports day where my dad worked - I won the running race for 4 year olds and won a bendy toy like the one below.

It totally freaked me out having it in my bedroom - and after a few days it went in the jumble sale bag

My nice ex-BiL knows Ken Goff. Small world.

Isn't that Andy Pandy?

Nice pic of HLM on the Ken Goff site. He must feel he's come down in the world if he's reduced to lurking in pub car parks to catch pics of these two. Or does he send a minion?

That's the thing isn't it? Many of us could look back at many scenarios and twist them to demonstrate that we were deliberately treated badly. In the majority of cases they were simply parents trying to do their best and the times in which we lived (i.e dolls, stereotypical etc. ). But as robust adults we don't carry those things with us and we recognise the reality and my sister and I laugh a lot about the issues (note she was the golden child! 🤣)

It's also really easy for a newcomer to the situation to make incorrect assumptions as per the spoof Meg post.

I know a situation where a family had a much longed for and loved late child after a number of issues. That child now has a partner who asked me if X had been a mistake and they were filing X's head with that. It couldn't be further from the truth but the new partner set off down a path with it so you can see how these things occur.

Some people can't let go of grievances.

In my extended family (in several of the families) there was a thing that the boys were privately educated from 11 as the family narrative was that boys needed to get "good jobs"/go to Uni, while the girls went to the bog standard comp as they'd only work a few years before it was time to be a housewife.

Yet one of the women still bangs on about this injustice that favoured her brother - even though we are all mid-60s now and we all went to secondary school over 50 years ago.

Yes, but I don't think H knows that . . . (not sure what he learnt during his history classes)

He was drawing a cock and balls in his rough book!

Was the country house going spare? (Sorry...)

IIRC Charles offered him a Duchy of Cornwall estate in Herefordshire. It would have put him within an hour or so from Highgrove, Zara and Mike etc

But they turned it down - I'm not sure Meghan really likes historic architecture and prefers a McMansion near a Kardashian

Please could I ask a question from you knowledgeable PP's?

In the British aristocracy the eldest son usually takes his father's subsidiary title

e.g. The Duke of Edinburgh's son is the Earl of Wessex, the Duke of Gloucester's son is the Earl of Ulster and the Duke of Kent's son is the Earl of St Andrews

Why isn't Archie known as the Earl of Dumbarton (the Duke of Sussex's subsidiary title)?

fuschiaproudparrot · 04/10/2026 19:11

I know - but he was scarier than the normal Andy Pandy when you woke up and he was staring at you from the toy shelf - more like evil/possessed Andy Pandy.... coming to play.

Bendy toys were also very weird as they were made from some sort of synthetic, painted plastic foam with metal wire inside

Ah I know this one - because dimwit Meghan didn't like that the name Dumbarton has Dumb as the first four letters and seemed to take it as some kind of personal attack, like she took other things as a personal attack when she was pregnant with Archie which were just family chat or normal protocol.

Because they chose never to use it. That was hid title from birth. Their mouthpiece, Omid Scobie announced that their children wouldn't be having royal titles and he would be known as "Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor"

They were downright dangerous too as , when played with repeatedly, the rubber would break down revealing the wire which had a sharp point

How they got past safety checks, even in those days, is frightening

Aaah, thankyou very much! Yes, that would explain it. I was baffled as I would have thought H&M would give him the best title possible but I hadn't made the connection with the place name

Wonder which of the MIGS suggested that title to HMTQ!

IIRC they made a HUGE thing when Archie was born about not wanting titles for him - so everyone assumed the hamlets would be like Peter and Zara.

I suspect that the only title Meghan was interested in was Prince/Princess - hard to merch a Dumbarton (especially with Harry as his father). They could have styled Archie Lord (Baron) Kilkeel as well.

KatherineParr · 04/10/2026 19:51

It was very well received that H&M weren't planning on giving their children titles. That aged badly!
