And brown shoes with a blue suit? 😡

That's very American. They like brown shoes over there.

cheezncrackers · 04/10/2026 13:11

Okay, who's up for some Sunday fun?

If the financial reason is the right one (and personally I can't see any other reason that would've dragged Meghan 'I will never set foot in the UK again' Markle back to the UK), then at some point H is going to have to have a very difficult conversation with his dear old Pa.

I suspect KCIII is waiting for him to come calling, because the MIGS have surely done the same kind of 'back of the envelope' maths that I have to come to my conclusions, which is that HAM are going to be bankrupt in <10 years unless they quickly find either a new revenue stream (unlikely) or someone to bail them out.

So H comes calling and asks C to help them out. If you were Charles, WWYD?

Quite wrong. Brown shoes are for trousers and jackets, or trousers and jumpers, not suits. H should know better.

IdaGlossop · 04/10/2026 13:03

If H has started highering himself since meeting Meghan, does that mean he is doing so on her instruction? Perhaps she has a fetishish for stacked shoes and makes him prance around naked in them at home, or wear them when he's one of her boys 'running in from the yard for my bacon'. Apologies to anyone about to eat lunch.

Higher, and yet, so much lower

BasiliskStare · 04/10/2026 13:13

I always thought M was 5'6" .. Which doesn't look out of place next to H 6'1" ?
I'm shorter than 5.6 and my son is 6ft on the dot and I look roughly the same next to him ( other than high heels - which I just don't wear nowadays ) Anyway it doesn't matter - people are the height they are. Dressing for your height and shape completely different matter.

Is the heel lift thing re H true? I can't see a man of his height feeling the need to do that.

Anyway light relief below. I note it says the Cartier watch discretely hidden beneath a cuff 😊 It's a bit of nonsense I know.

How posh is your wardrobe? The tell-tale fashion clues

When Princess Beatrice and Edo Mapelli Mozzi stepped out for dinner in Notting Hill over the weekend, there was one eye-catching fashion item loaded with socio-economic symbolism.

Camilla does dress well, and looks comfortable as well. I do think she needs a visit to Rigby and Peller though. Her real strength is hats. Even the hugest somehow don't swallow her.

Hats and jewellery! Love her jewels.
Fab.U.Lous, darling!

bluegreygreen · 04/10/2026 13:14

I also replied to her on TwiX pointing this out and where she was wrong (IMO). I didn't get blocked, but saw she'd changed her account to private so I couldn't see it anymore, unless I followed her. Which I didn't want to after that.

Perhaps it was just that then, @MrsFinkelstein. The difference I noticed was that I couldn't see a couple of posts that I had replied to, so assumed I'd been blocked. Perhaps I assumed wrongly.

Nice to have your and @AutumnCrowOfCleves' confirmation that I wasn't imagining things, anyway.

I can't find a diplomatic way to phrase my view.

twosmallaxolotls · 04/10/2026 12:57

Blimey, calm down! 😂
I'm just reacting to what appeared to be a criticism of her clothing style. You said her dress style looked "awful". However, your sharp response would indicate that you don't criticise her dress sense completely.
My point is that I think it's much, much harder for older women in the public eye.

erm, yes, ok, calm down dear. No idea what this means "However, your sharp response would indicate that you don't criticise her dress sense completely." but I hesitate to quote my original statement praising her normal look and style a second time.
Thanks for explaining your point. Though I'm still unsure what the age 30 and size 8 bit was about. It's ok though, I don't actually need to know.

Mine was that both Catherine and Camilla have worn one (out of their many) styles repeatedly in different colours, that I thought was either unflattering to them or potentially just unflattering in general, but the repeat in many colours must mean that they and potentially the much mentioned palace advisors must think otherwise.

Many posters suggest that Megan's lack of style when dressing formally is because she ignored, and now lacks, the guidance of palace advisors. That was the relevance to the thread.

I hope(d) it goes without saying that criticising one of Catherine's dress choices doesn't mean whatever it was you imagined I was saying about Camilla despite me explicitly saying otherwise in the same sentence.

Well I hope that's all cleared up now. Goodness.

According to the not-reliable Express, C is already declining H's calls because H just bullies him down the phone and he's had enough of it. I digress.

Now onto fun. If I were Charles, I would be treating H like an irresponsible teenager, offering him tightly controlled funding and financial management in return for shutting up. A trust using my private wealth would have William and Anne and a healthy sprinkling of MIGS. A lawyer would draw up conditions to make provision for the children until they were 18 and block the channelling of funds that might be used to fund M exclusively eg purchase in bulk of tacky advent calendars without snow. He would be paid monthly for family living expenses only if he and M hadn't planted foolish stories, mithered Ravec and harassed relatives.

KC will undoubtedly bail them out but there should be conditions. Money not to spent on ridiculous business ventures (as ever, etc) or law suits. Unfortunately, HAM never listen so KC will probably be constantly bailing them out. I would also strip titles before any bailout. Fair enough, they are not working royals but the titles are exploited and quite frankly, making a mockery of he institution

Ok! All clear 😜
Good grief (ducks under parapet...🤣🤣🤣)

Whoopiedooo · 04/10/2026 13:36

I agree KC might well pay the school fees, that is quite a normal thing for a rich grandparent to do.
I don't think anything else would be wise. Very much like bailing out a gambling addict rarely (never?) stems the tide, I doubt more free money would actually help with Harry's problems either.
Like others I suspect KC also has an eye to an impending divorce settlement and doesn't want to be on the hook for that.

AlexandraCarrington · 04/10/2026 13:36

If you were Charles, WWYD?

Hamlets' education, on condition they pick a suitable school or schools and stick with it - no chopping and changing unless for good educational reasons.

A fairly modest house somewhere - no more than one bathroom per resident - on condition they live as private citizens and behave themselves.

They get rid of the Monteshitshow money pit. If they still want a Cali base and can afford it, they can get something smaller.

But I'd still be keeping them at arm's length and not issuing invitations to family occasions.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 04/10/2026 13:40

on condition they live as private citizens and behave themselves.

AKA 'nailing jelly to the wall.'

Can you imagine the quibbles and the pouting over what 'private' and 'behave themselves' means? there'd be all sorts of passive aggressive Sussex shit being bandied around.

cheezncrackers · 04/10/2026 13:48

I agree that whatever Charles does, and he will surely help them out in some capacity, there will have to be some serious conditions attached and penalties if they don't comply i.e. a new 'Sandringham' type agreement.

Off the top of my head, if I were him, I'd say they have to move back to the UK, the Montecito house has to go to pay their debts (which he will not get involved in paying), and he'll provide them with a modest residence within a secure setting like Windsor Great Park (ETA: or maybe not, since this is where W&C live!). He'd probably agree to pay the kids' school fees and provide a stipend for them to live on, as he does with AMW, but if he does that then they have to agree to no more attacks on the family - no interviews, no documentaries, no books and no more leaks to the media. In other words, they return to the fold and are given a reasonable standard of living in return for their silence and their good behaviour. Either that, or they're on their own.

Meghan's pudding will include shortbread.

I would like to prepare an unelevated (unlike pa's shoes) party tea for Archie and Lilibet. It would include hot dogs, hedgehogs made from sausages and cheese cubes on sticks stick into honeydew melon halves, and a pink blancmange.

Mark Dolan's latest with Charlotte Griffiths reports that Archie and Lily's US school is upset that their friends didn't get the chance to say good-bye. He's talked to contacts in Montecito. It was part of a PR strategy of secrecy so the shock of their arrival in the UK would generate maximum coverage. I feel even more sorry for the Hamlets now than I did last week, whose parents have no idea how to put the needs of their children first.

Handbagsandoldcurtains · 04/10/2026 13:52

If I were Charles, I’d be pointing out how wonderful Portugal is, at any time of year.

I’d cough up for school fees though.

Camilla is 79, and she has joint problems. I really think, for her circumstances, she often looks really stylish.
She's not 30, 5' 10" and a size 8.

Plus she is more interested in her pets, books and her garden than her frocks.
Much like myself.
