This was at an event this week. But the photo just made me gasp. It looks like the elderly woman is being used as a prop, rather than being treated in a dignified way.

This thread was started in very bad faith. OP probably thought pps are stupid…but they were quickly called out and they didn’t like it one bit.

No acknowledgment or apology has been forthcoming.

Quite remarkable for a poster who likes to own their mistakes 🤔

And who likes to accuse other posters of lying.

So you are gloating about the possibility that you have bullied the OP off her own thread. Because she refused to partake of the sackcloth & ashes advocated by some posters.

This despite the fact that she has done nothing wrong at all, and MN evidently agree as this thread complete with picture is still here. The poor optics of the picture are very plain to see and the criticism is in no way directed at the lady in the picture, it is disingenuous to suggest it is. It is completely legitimate to criticise principal members of the RF like this; we know that this isn't the first time by any means that some of them have demonstrated poor judgement and don't seem to have appreciated how they come across. But we know that some think they walk on water and they alone should be above any criticism.

The small minded mockery, deliberate misconstruing, gaslighting and bullying, towards the OP and others deemed unlikable (plenty of it directed predictably at H&M as a continuation of the years-long media hate campaign against them) I have personally found very grubby. I am more content than ever to be opposed to the monarchy if this is what it brings out in its supporters.

As many many posts in this thread have explained, there were photos of the same lady released to the press in which she is happy and smiling. The OP chose to use this unreleased, unflattering photo, chose to put it on a thread in a well known forum to suggest that William and Catherine should not have had their photo taken with her.

All I and others are asking is that the OP admitt that she deliberately chose an unflattering photo, one of a series but where the subject just happened to turn her head, to attack William and Catherine and to accuse them of using a vulnerable old lady for publicity which in reality the lady was perfectly well and happy to have her photo taken as is obvious in every other photo taken at the same time.

That isn't attacking, it's correcting the record. The OP is happy to call other posters liars on other threads but for some reason won't correct the record herself. I thought at first she had made an innocent mistake, but it is becoming that is not the case.

Too long , too boring, too pointless.

OlympicWomen · 24/09/2026 06:41

"She's done nothing wrong at all"
Clearly she has, @Futurehappiness. Have you seen her OP? The site it's from? The nastiness about W&K for no reason, and the wild misrepresentation of what occured? @OneLilacHedgehog created this horrible thread, and people will challenge her on it.
It's entirely her responsibility.

Incredibly pompous, as well. The self importance of that post is something to behold.

Have you not read the rest of the thread?

Omg, is that really necessary? Seriously?.

diggrrt · 01/10/2026 21:11

Well I didn't make up the photo it is a published one presumably from tame photographers allowed to be there.

Where was it published?

I've seen some videos of the event, but not that photograph.

No, and the videos were all really nice. Largely because it was such a nice event.

bluegreygreen · 01/10/2026 21:43

I've had a look.

It's a manipulated image. I've attached the original, which I've seen in Marie Claire, the Telegraph, and some other places. Catherine is laughing with the lady sitting beside her.

You can tell it's the original, because Catherine's expression is the same, and her hand and the hands of the people standing behind are in the same positions.

My image is under review, but it can also be seen clearly in the link I've given.

OlympicWomen · 01/10/2026 22:01

Thank you, @bluegreygreen. So it was a manipulated image. What a horrible thing to do to an elderly person like that.

bluegreygreen · 01/10/2026 22:06

Yes, truly horrible.

damnatiomemoriae · 01/10/2026 22:12

Seen it all now.

Imagine being so desperate to prove a point that you would choose (yes - choose) a particular photo that doesn’t represent the real story or worse, apparently manipulate a photo to do the same.

Have a word with yourselves people. These women deserve better.

Absolutely. How nasty

damnatiomemoriae · 01/10/2026 22:18

I’m intrigued by the term tame photographers.

Perhaps we could train them to take less than flattering snaps of feral free range gobshites.

And Nessie.

And Haggis colonies.

(I’m not being fair, it is an impossible task really as only one of those three is real).

Clearly a fake pic. My 3 year old great nephew could see this is fake. 😂
