Inappropriate photo op for William and catherine

This was at an event this week. But the photo just made me gasp. It looks like the elderly woman is being used as a prop, rather than being treated in a dignified way.

Oh Hedgehog, I do kind of feel for you. I’m more of a reader than a poster, but names and styles of posting do tend to kind of stick with me, and patterns do get noted.

You're trying, I’ll give you that, on a few threads, but you always seem to get thwarted by pesky facts, evidence and humour.

As others have said, there’s nothing wrong with having a personal opinion of not wanting a monarchy. But it’s probably best to go away and hone your debating skills because they’re not serving you well right now.

Hilarity aside, I don’t think you’ve fully cleared up/clarified exactly where you lifted that photo from. I mean, can you provide a trusted news source for it? Or, as suggested earlier, did you take it from the depths of a cesspit? Because, quite frankly, your answer to that will be indicative of your motivations.

Hopefully you now understand the context of the Jamaican tour and the way perfectly innocent acts by W&C were attacked and twisted by malicious people to make them appear as colonialists and to claim they were unpopular. I hope you’ve learned how people of bad faith can select an innocent image and claim it represents something entirely different…er, rather like the one you posted in your OP.

That wasn't an insult! It was a tongue in cheek comment come on! I didn't plan to offend you but honestly, how do you think these two women look different? They are roughly of the same age, have the same hairstyle, and the exact same coat? Can you explain to me how they look different?

It’s what they do on Celebitchy. There’ll be a series of photos from a Wand C visit, which you’ll see in other contexts, or on the BBC news site but Celebitchy will quite deliberately select the one where either Catherine or a member of the public she’s talking to, is between smiles, or maybe listening intently to what the other is saying- and claim everyone hates her.

They also try to cut out any pictures of the crowd of people and claim no-one came. It’s a American site and a lot of the posters are not knowledgeable about UK life, which makes it very easy for the editor to hoodwink them. As Brits know, at Trooping the Colour etc, the police hold the crowd back from the area next to aThe Mall and spectators are further back, under the trees. But on Celebitchy they claim no-one came to watch. It’s so revoltingly dishonest and manipulative.

I don’t care that OP isn’t a fan of Catherine and William but I care enormously about images and other information being misrepresented. That infuriates me because it’s never done with good motives.

Yes, and your last paragraph is spot on. It's perfectly fine to have an opinion about the RF and the monarchy, and to criticise W&K, but presenting this as evidence reeks of desperation. The worst image from a reel, taken from a particular site, is not evidence against them. Nor is a gossip piece from a tabloid making general and unsubstantiated points.
None of this constitutes "evidence".

Actually, I’m going to follow @OneLilacHedgehog excellent guidance in “owning mistakes” and am going to clarify - she may not currently work in criminal law but she did state that she had less of an understanding of libel law as she knew/dealt (can’t recall specific verbiage) criminal law

The King visited a town near me which is a bit rough. I took my DS along and we got chatting to the woman standing next to us, who was lovely.The BBC posted the most unflattering picture of this woman, it made her look like a crackhead about to assult the king. The photo the royal family posted was beautiful. I really hope she didn't see the BBC picture.

With the cameras going of constantly the photographers are bound to pick up both good and bad photos. Which ones they allow you to see depend entirely on their agenda.

Right, so shall we say that the inference was definitely there? I think I read the same thread and she told another poster that she knew the law, (more than them) but that may just have been a broad claim.

What amazes me is the fact that there are so many "Why do you care? Why don't you get a life?" etc posts from pro HAMs to people on MN and it turns out that there are loads of other sites that they must be spending a lot of time on.
That sounds like they must care a lot and spend quite a bit of their lifetime on the internet.
I had no idea all this was out there.
Obviously, I'm not implying the OP spends a massive amount of time on the internet researching this and I'm sure they'll tell us where they stumbled accidentally across the photo in the OP.

Personally I take any claims from anonymous posters on here with a pinch of salt…..otherwise there does seem to be an extraordinary abundance of lawyers/ royal insiders or any other profession that would conveniently lend credence to their claims while shutting down others opinions ! 🤷‍♀️

Yes I find it quite funny that if someone shows even mild support for the RF (that probably includes me, I think on balance it's a good thing for the country but don't pay a huge amount of attention to their daily activities) they're a rabid royalist yet there are Republicans and H and M fans (quite often the same thing on here) who seem to be obsessed with it all across the internet.
