I think this has to be to stave off any suggested repeat of Harry turning up in the Ukraine or Gaza/ the West Bank. For some eg the Israelis, Harry could be THE most useful idiot and that’s why this letter is public. Everyone, literally everyone is on notice that he isn’t representative of the country. The govt and Charles put in a lot of work and money, there’s no way they can risk Harry going anywhere near these places now that it’s publicized he’s back in with his dad. The govt had to think twice before letting Phillip on the loose for heaven’s sake. And I can’t see Burnham having any time for Harry or Meghan. He’s absolutely not going to indulge Harry.

I think there’s probably also an element of local councils/dignitaries wondering whether or not they get a red carpet, whether to authorize overtime and cancel leave for catering/cleaning/security staff. Who should they send the bill to, they’ll be asking themselves. This answers that.

As would the local oxfordshire/Glocs police force who might be being asked to put a plain clothes policeman/woman or two in a car outside whichever school morning and afternoon. Head of that police force will also be wondering to whom that bill should be sent. The letter tells them to sort it out themselves (ie absorb the cost if they want to) or ask BP.

Just had a look at the royal website, never had a look before. And it is indeed embarrassingly out of date. It mentions he co-founded Sentebale but no mention that he is no longer involved.

Israel’s deputy foreign minister, Sharren Haskel, hit back at the Duke and claimed his accusations that corridors had been shut were false and invited him to visit the country.

I wonder if BP is fed up of fielding calls and e-mails because HAM and their PR are determined to push the boundaries behind the scenes and giving the impression that they have the King's blessing?

Perhaps also they have attempted to manipulate other organisations into lobbying for their security/ invitations to Remembrance events etc. Funny how they claim to be unable to do the scary school run yet intend to go skydiving!
