Not a good idea. If you watch the Mark Dolan Show, he often ends with a sequence where Meghan offers her mother As Ever products, and her mother replies that she will "stick with the prison food".

I think that there are a few things going on simultaneously.

I think all the discussions around PH on his way back to WRF and the anti PW narrative that he is the one blocking it needed to be nipped in the bud.

Also suspect that BP know that H&M have a load of short term high profile charity events scheduled (sky dive anyone?!?) and wanted to be crystal clear that this is not HIHO and that BP are not funding anything or Government shouldn’t be.

H&M seen to do impulsive blasts or activity rather than anything strategic and measured - so I expect they believed that they should hit the ground running and make their presence known - so expect to see a load of lame H&M ‘activity’ in the coming weeks.

I like the tone of the letter especially “In short,…” - very tart indeed.

There was no need for BP to publicise this letter to Government departments to the general public but it makes sure any gullible charities walk into everything with their eyes wide open.

I don’t think that this letter confirms Christmas Sandringham Walk and Kates Christmas Carol Concert are off the table as they fall uncomfortably between WRF and Private RF.

That's my favourite part too: "In short, their position is akin to private citizens..."

and with the personal latitude it brings the couple in respect of financial independence and protection of their privacy as they would wish,

Did anyone else do Muttley chuckle at this?

It was my favourite part along with them also being sent the letter.

Hopefully it will be enough to put their gas at a peep.

It's interesting the letter has been sent to all Lord Lieutenants. When I've watched Royal Visits, the local Lord Lieutenant is always in attendance, introducing local dignitaries to the royal visitor and generally helping with the visit. They are very visible, usually in uniform, and have a distinct insignia

So I'm just wondering why the letter was sent to them all. Were the Sussexes expecting assistance from LL's? If this was the case I can fully understand why they have been sent the guidance. A LL in attendance with the Sussexes would lend an aura of a true Royal visit

I believe the shenanigans with the 'Fake Admiral' at a Remembrance Service last year occurred because he said he was representing the LL.

Sorry, this is a bit disjointed but i'm just trying to work out what its all about!

Edited for spelling

Apparently they received letter last Tuesday and we have had plenty of leaks since then so I don't think it has any effect on them

Telegraph report https://archive.ph/Wahav

Apparently the Times report (if anyone can share it) says that the letter was sent to the Sussexes on Tuesday.

So was that before or after the Diana dinner was cancelled?

Indeed no.
The HRH/HM is the bit you curtsey to. People think that you are curtseying/bowing to the person and it’s not -it’s to the position.
Great point @Mylovelygreendress but not one HaM will be telling people I suspect.
What’s the betting staff are told to bow/curtsey to them.

Starryfifty · Today 18:33

A lot of shit flying HAM's way soon. Sentabale, which H is desperately hoping Dr S will settle. Questions over their other charities etc

On the offchance that he hosts this sorry pair, I doubt bows and curtseys would be on the cards.

They may show reverence by falling to their knees?
