Well, its news to me M was dumped and gate crashed a wedding (!) In Jamaica.
I cant imagine being that bonkers. It takes a lot of brass neck to chase a chap like that. And hang round at a wedding when you dont know anyone- being a plus 1 isnt a personal invite:)

If they are here, i cant see M staying. Left to wait in the car, left outside harry's mates gaffs, with crispz and a fizzy drink ? You couldnt let her in, for so many reasons, not even for the loo.

And going to theirs and being filmed 'spontaneously' dancing in the kitchen. And trying not to catch H eye when his wife has no idea and drones on about utter shit that everyone knows is a lie.

I don’t understand how she was able to get past security and into the actual wedding.

I would disagree with that Goodness PW worked as a civy pilot for East Anglian Air Ambulance for a couple of years. I don’t believe he was given special treatment and I know there accounts of patients being airlifted and being surprised that the future king was piloting!

I believe it was the first time a future heir had had a civi job.

He says that some of the incidents he was called to, especially involving children, promoted him to engage with therapy and deal with his own feelings. I think that was a very mature response, and a positive step.

Yes, and I don't think Americans are as interested in British royalty as they used to be. Meghan had her chance, but that was getting on 7 years ago. And she blew it.

But she isn't British royalty - and her is the rub.

The US know she is American, they have seen her as the deal or no deal girl and getting frisky on Suits.

The RF are interesting because they are different, they live in castles, they have a particular accent, they are othered, apart- they certainly don't post pictures of twerking in hospital.

America has it's own 'American' royalty which is American successful.

I think from the State visit there is still great interest in the RF, but MM will never be Royal, she just married into it.

According to SM at the time, they were in a some sort of relationship which had not been made public. Apparently, they travelled from the US to Jamaica on the same plane - him in First and her in Economy - and allegedly she then wrote him a message saying he was treating her like a pheasant (sic).

I have no idea if any of this is true, but it would explain how she got through security.

But she could have been seen as royal. Catherine and Sophie both married in and they are certainly seen as such. And we have examples of Americans who have successfully married in to the British aristocracy. So being a married in American isn’t a barrier to being seen as royal per se. It’s that she has never acquired royal mores and does not behave in any way like a royal. As you say, hospital twerking is one example of a no no.
If she had been canny and taken time to actually integrate into the RF, then maybe further down the line she could have been perceived in the US as royalty. But she isn’t canny

@IcedPurple I can see her booking “serious” acting jobs. Regardless of whether she’s with or without H.

I disagree that she’s not a good actress; she was good in Suits. Is she a great actress? No. But a lot of working actors are good rather than great.

I don’t think there’s a lot of evidence of her creating “a load of off screen drama”.

But the main reason she could book roles: it’s utterly naive to discount how much name recognition plays in casting these days. I could see Meghan getting a limited run West End role and the producers making bank.

Meghan is one of those actors who is always " the same" in every role she plays similar to Joan Collins and Liz Hurley to name two more. I could also add Hugh Grant to those. She's no Charlize Theron.

Really? Seriously? How does this “anguish” manifest itself? Are we all rocking and blubbering now Harry is back in town?

Most people have too much going on in their lives to care, and if what he has supposedly down to the country, something people find hard to define btw, causes anyone serious anguish then imho they need to develop a sense of proportion, because there are genuinely a lot more things about our country that merit that emotion, eg the levels of homelessness and children living beneath the poverty line.

She’d never been seen as royal. Unlike Catherine and Sophie she has no class, few manners, no tact and is incapable of keeping in the background.
She hogs the limelight at every opportunity and exploits any occasion for her own ends.
She’s about as far from being seen as royal as it’s possible to be when married-in.

Especially if he was actually treating her like a “pheasant”. He could have put her in his hand luggage. Given her dislike of blood sports, that was an interesting Freudian slip. Or she just couldn’t bring herself to write “peasant”😆😆

MaturingCheeseball · Today 10:42

She really could have had it all but was greedy and impatient to be a “star”.

As for the West End stage, nah. She’s only interested in “I’m ready for my close-up” roles, and aside from any potential talent or lack thereof, we’ve seen she is not a sticker. Learning copious amounts of lines? I can only see a suitable role being Marcel(la) Marceau.

The main reason you can't turn the clock back to cheeky Harry is that he never really existed. He was a creation of outstanding palace PR. But we have seen who Harry really is so that won't wash anymore.
I don't see how he can be given a military role, that would be half in and the palace is making it clear that nothing has changed, regardless of where they live.
Maybe Harry will finally grow up, accept responsibility and apologise to his family. I may be hopelessly optimistic but reconciliation and a useful future that is focused on others is the best ending for this sad tale

If this is the case then it’s logical that PR spin is probably doing the same for all of them.

There were many stories at the time that William had just as many, if not more. wild times as Harry, and fell out of even more nightclubs, but because he was the heir, he was more protected by the press and the palace.

William hasn’t exactly stunned everyone with his work ethic to date even though he is forty-four now. I wonder what he is waiting for?

And I am sure it’s equally likely that there are things on both sides to apologise for.

Edited

I cannot bear these insults flung at William re his ‘Work Ethic’.
He served in the military - all three branches - and then worked in Anglesey and Norwich as a rescue helicopter pilot. He donated his wages from these roles.
During this time he became a father of three children.
We have seen how the Late Queen was propelled into the role at 26 and had not much time for her children -in fact, she had already left Charles and Anne for huge long periods while she lived in Malta with Prince Philip.
Charles has always worked hard and was -like Diana- not a hugely ‘there’ parent. The children boarded from 8 yrs old and were split between their parents in school holidays.
William simply was never going to do it like that. With the approval of The Late Queen and the then Prince of Wales he and Catherine have prioritised their young children. Louis is only 8.
No, he doesn’t do as many engagements as his father or Anne. But he also has the Duchy of Cornwall to attend to plus whatever behind the scene meetings. I expect he has also received more ‘training’ for the role of monarch than any previous one.
To the nasty -and yes, l do think you are nasty- people who critique his ‘work ethic’ I would say this. You don’t know what he does 24 hrs a day, He doesn’t talk about everything he does and it’s none of our business. He -unlike the rest of us- as he ages will only see his workload and responsibilities increase.
He will never retire. He will work till he dies -and don’t think it isn’t work. I suspect 3-4 hrs every day of the ‘red boxes’ becomes incredibly tedious and rather dull after a decade or so.
We all - nearly- are in agreement that he and Catherine are doing a great job with their children.
HE is the man who has -with the help of his wife & her family- broken the ‘generational pain’. I suspect his extended family has too. In no previous generation would a bluff Yorkshireman have been allowed to have the relationship with a Prince of Wales that Mike Tindall has.
Im 50-something (I can’t say it. I can’t bloody believe it) - my body is creaking a bit and I haven’t got anywhere near the energy I had 20 yrs ago. I can’t imagine thinking that my workload would be increasing massively and would be like that until I died.
For all of those who bitch about Williams perceived lack of work were you as vocal saying it was terrible how much the King and the late Queen, and Prince Philip do/did decade(s) after retirement age?? No. Thought not.

Well, yes. That’s what I mean by not integrating. She is incapable of behaving in a royal way
because she is not genuinely adaptable and is not at all interested in learning about how people in Royal circles behave. Because she thinks her way of doing things is the only way

She’s hardly an accomplished actress - and we all know she would, in the great British tradition -get booed.
Maybe she should try Pantomime-everyone boos there and it’s rather well paid too albeit hard work.

I wouldn’t know personally because I’ve only ever seen her in Suits, and one episode of Castle where the role was different to her role of Suits.

You must have seen most of her back catalogue (so to speak) then!

@DaisyDooley - couldn't agree more! Those people who judge W&C's 'work ethic' on a pay-per-view ribbon cutting scale can't be arsed to look deeper into everything that they do behind the scenes, including shaping the future of the RF in the way their children are brought up.
And that comment is in no way intended to denigrate the work of all the other WRs, W&C have a unique role in the WRF.

As if their work is about "ribbon cutting" nowadays, anyway.
