Meghan has been offered a part in series 3 of The Gentleman, by Guy Ritchie?

Yes but they are well established at times box office actors. She never was.

So???? You don't have to be a box office actor to be successful and /or have had an acting career.

She's had plenty of acting jobs, more than the majority of other actors.

Just because you don't like her doesn't mean she hasn't had an acting career or can't be considered successful.

theresnolimits · 22/08/2026 07:21

They’re not my cup of tea, but good for her. She has tried various initiatives and if she wants to work, rather than living off her husband, then surely as women we should support her.

HoraceCope · 22/08/2026 08:25

So they may only be here while she is filming?

HoraceCope · 22/08/2026 08:29

Perhaps she will present a radio show on BBC radio 2

Are you the gold standard then? If you haven’t heard of a TV show it must not be big?

Edited

If neither UK friends or family or work colleagues haven't heard of it either I would say it isn't big.

Again...so what???

I never knew who Logan Paul was for example, until the Prime drink thing happened..... Or Mr Beast.... I've never eatched Hunger Games nor has anyone I know....
And I'm sure there's other massively popular things I don't know about....

But they're still hugely popular and well known

How many friends and work colleagues have you even spoken to about Suits?

dustabsorber · 22/08/2026 08:45

Eastenders?

Now THIS I can see her doing. She'd be an OF superstar

What’s OF?

I think it’s good shes trying again doing something for herself. It will be a great distraction from her DH woes and an ego boost after failed commercial efforts.

I hope PH is calmer and happier and more fulfilled back in his culture and community. I hope his MH improves and that he finds enough peace, balance and distraction amongst old and new friends to ease his emotional strain.

Bitzee · 22/08/2026 09:03

Good for her. At least she’s trying to work and going back what she previously did very successfully seems sensible. Personally I didn’t watch a lot of Suits but you can’t argue it wasn’t successful or that she was crap if she lasted 7 seasons. Better than making jam or anything else she knows nothing about but even with that at least she was trying. I liked The Gentleman so it’ll be interesting to see what the part is. I also think she’d be good in Jilly Cooper or the White Lotus. No woman should be dependent on her husband especially not when the husband is Prince Harry who has cost them millions with this daft court case. If she was ordinary we’d all be saying ducks in a row.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 22/08/2026 09:46

I would rather like them to bring back the Crown so that Meghan can play ... well ... Meghan. She might find herself itching to make script changes though. Maybe a cameo role persuading Jeremy Clarkson to sell As Ever products in the Diddly Squat Farm Shop instead? Maybe the farm could diversify into growing the herbs for Duchess of Sussex reviving teas? Potential for an interesting story arc and character development for both parties?

Only Fans.

The PPs are being awful suggesting that a woman should sell her body to make money and that she'd do really well.

Imagine they wouldn't be so thrilled and jolly if that was their daughter people were talking about 🤢

BasiliskStare · 22/08/2026 09:51

I didn't watch Suits but DH did. I think it was pretty popular in its time so on the one hand I can believe some people have never heard of it , but it did have a good following. I think M was 6 on the call sheet (is that what it's called? ) So she wasn't a lead but a regular. I remember reading that translated into less screen time than you might think but no matter she was regularly in it. DH reckoned she was never going to be bothering the likes of Judi Dench etc for acting skills , but in the context of that show she was perfectly OK ( and very pretty with it he threw in) . So I think it's fair to say MM has had an acting career. No-one's claiming she was Oscar / Olivier award winning / box office Hollywood banker , but she earned a decent living from Suits and therefore she ought to be counted as being at least somewhat successful in a very very competitive industry. I've said elsewhere I think there's a lot MM can be justifiably criticised for , but give her credit also where it is due.
If she can return to acting and earn an honest buck , good luck to her I say. I'm with @Lifestooshort71 , given her husband , OK he's had the NF money and lucratively the Spare money , seems to think he was put on this earth to concentrate on his charitable work , someone's got to bring in the cash & I'd rather this than taking dodgy pot shots at the RF.

Markle obviously needs the money to pay her moronic husband’s legal bills. When this project inevitably flops, there’s always OF, I suppose.

Ugh.🤢
Would you suggest this to your daughter/sister/mother/aunt.. suggest she sells her body to pay her husband's legal fees???

PullTheBricksDown · 22/08/2026 10:12

There's no acting job in the world that could earn enough to pay the legal bill. A first payment of £9.5 million is due next week! Whatever her reason for returning to acting, that specific thing isn't it. It could be to bring in more money generally, of course.

I was thinking this.
I really can't imagine (and it is just my imagination as I have no knowledge of acting salaries) that the fee for appearing in a series on Netflix is going to be any more than pin money for a couple who are apparently multi-millionaires and who also owe millions.

Eta Steve McFadden plays Phil Mitchell, who Google assures me is a major character in Eastenders, and gets an estimated £200,000 - £300,000 a year.
Netflix may be a lot more generous for all I know but the salary is unlikely to be up there with what the main Friends actors were getting, say.

Of course there's acting jobs paying ££££ enough.

Whether she can get those roles/command those figures.... I shouldn't think so, however high paying roles exist.

Obviously I know that high paying roles exist.
I was talking, as I specifically said, about the fee for appearing in a series on Netflix. Not a major Hollywood project.

That's fair enough, also the other projects didn't do so well. As pp have said, perhaps Harry could try and get a job. I genuinely don't know how she puts up with him.

Againtwo · 22/08/2026 10:47

It’s currently being reported that she is being considered for a role in series 3, which hasn’t actually been green lit by Netflix yet.

So, I suspect the big announcement was some manifestation in play. If it doesn’t happen she (or someone on her team) has at least made it clear she’s available for work!

BillyBites · 22/08/2026 10:51

I have very little time for Meghan and considerably less for Harry but I agree with those who have pointed out that at least she’s attempting to get things moving on the ‘earning money’ front, rather than spaffing millions up the wall on hopeless legal cases.

MrsFinkelstein · 22/08/2026 10:54

WarriorN · 22/08/2026 07:15

Oh I seem to have missed series two. <runs off to catch up>

You've not missed it, it's not been released yet. September I think.

Series 3 hasn't been commissioned.

So any talks Meghan is in about a role are still very provisional and absolutely not definite.

Still, it's free PR for the show and will likely ensure S2 does get views. So well played the production team.

JortsNTeeShirt · 22/08/2026 10:55

Suits was decent! It was a cult TV show when it originally ran and had respectable enough viewing figures that it ran for many series (eight, I think?).

When they first re-ran it in the USA post Megan marrying Harry, it broke American streaming records and outperformed every other original Netflix series ever.

Not too shabby!

I actually thought Meg was pretty good in it. Very watchable. I mean, she isn’t Judi Dench, but she was a jobbing actress, making a living from it, which is all anyone who goes into that field can hope for.

Why shouldn’t she dip her toe back in, especially for a cushty little gig down t’road? I would.
