Thinking of the wedding, I always thought the way Charles took Dorias hand was so gentlemanly if that's a word.

It was a lovely moment and completely gives the lie to so much of what Meghan was later to claim about how cold and unwelcoming the RF were.

I bet she didn’t like that though! It wouldn’t suit her narrative.

The Clooneys etc... who dropped them the minute Ham got roasted after the Oprah interview...

And said they didn’t know them before the wedding either!

SheinSussex · 24/08/2026 17:42

Christian Horner is such a lovely man.

Indeed - need to bleach my mind now I’ve had the Christian Horner threads and usernames inadvertently brought back to mind 🤢

Why is King Charles more a priority than Thomas Markle?

King Charles, you say?

The Clooneys are the sort who would get to hobnob with real royalty. They don't need H&M.

Other than Doria (possibly), I don't think M is still on speaking terms with anyone who was at her wedding, is she? Either they've dumped her or she's dumped them.

There was a rare grace there - in his gesture, his smile and his entire body language.

Oh no, fellow pps, I just cannot bear the thought of the Sussexes doing the Sandringham Church Walk, or any other royal events.

Surely this will not be allowed to happen. I can't think why they'd be invited to spend Christmas at Sandringham.

I would guess they'll hope to get an invite to Althorp.

I really hope KC doesn't allow them back into contact with W and C. If he is a sentimental old dad, and a poorly one, OK - meet them briefly for tea at Christmas with just Camilla (and a lawyer??) to be witnesses. Hand over the Christmas pressies for the children then.

I can't see any playdates with the Wales children. I feel so strongly that HAM are toxic, malevolent and bitter people that I see only trouble ahead if that happened.

And Meghan was notoriously nasty to Charlotte over the bridesmaid dress incident. She only had George and Charlotte as attendants when the late Queen insisted on it.

The Wales's don't need the Sussexes - I hope they realise that.

I know he's THE KING, but it really isn't his place to "allow" William and Harry to have contact with each other. They're not 5. IF they both want to see each other, he has no right to forbid it

Or command that they do.

Of course. I should have said “ try to pressure them to see each other”.

Hopefully KC has some idea of the hurt that has been caused.

bluegreygreen · 24/08/2026 18:55

Also Scotty's Little Soldiers.

Yes, they threw so much back in his face, took so much for granted and still have zero self awareness

BasiliskStare · 24/08/2026 19:01

Also WellChild (charities)

GoodnessGraciousMeh · 24/08/2026 19:06

Which charities is still patron for? Apart from Invictus?

CoffeeCantata · 24/08/2026 19:22

KC can be absolutely amazing for someone who’s rather shy. He was brilliant in his speech to Congress too: grace, as you say, sophistication, humour, warmth, humility and twinkly humour.

I remember when he made time in his busy schedule to meet Zelensky, just after Vance and Trump had been so horrendously rude to him at the White House. It was on film and the warmth and informality of KC’s greeting and demeanour were just right. He hugged Zelensky and I thought “That’s how a proper statesman greets a fellow head of state who’s up against it”. Nothing grand, pompous or stiff about it - but so special, sincere and personal.

Grace might be the proper description rather than my gentlemanly.

But yes he took her hand so thoughtfully, it was I've been paraded in front of cameras my whole life come with me, don't be nervous.

GoodnessGraciousMeh · 24/08/2026 19:06

As above I think it's just Scotty's little soldiers as @bluegreygreen said and WellChild.

Mind you he ought to have his work cut out with Invictus alone at the moment. Everything I see says they have raised £4m thus far. Even with the £26m underwritten by the govt this is about half what the last games cost. ( I may not be quite right or out of date on this but I think it's thereabouts. )

Newname26 · 24/08/2026 19:58

HelenaWilson · 24/08/2026 18:54

BBC reporting that H has stepped down from the board of African Parks.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c750n3nx76ko

That only leaves Invictus, doesn't it?

Is this part of the well manicured plan. Ditich everything except the veterans.

.... look Dad I'm not acting like a rent-a-royal. Will you give me a proper royal job?...

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 24/08/2026 20:11

@Cannesdo @HoldMyWine What could married Christian Horner possibly be sending close up photos of to a woman who was not Ginger Spice? Answer: his finger...apparently.
