GBNews are reporting that Harry and Megan are moving back to the UK at the end of August.

I won't believe it until I hear it on the BBC.

Wow this is unexpected and funny. I wonder what Billy Idle makes of it all.

This is not news.

It is - features on newsnight

that’s a programme about the days news by the way

As we say Up North… they’ve got some brass neck!!

The BBC article online I think says they are keeping Montecito.

Wouldn't have thought that would make much financial sense. If they want to keep a base in California they could do it much more cheaply.

I hope this is so she can move back there 👍

Paddingtonsmarmaladesandwich2 · Yesterday 23:22

Please keep them!

I think they will be booed at every time here

@Paddingtonsmarmaladesandwich2 Sorry, I have no personal influence. 😂I think it'll be better for their children though.

It seems entirely rational for Meghan to join her husband in the UK. Charles is old and unwell. Harry could fly back to see him on a regular basis of course. But what about Meghan and the kids he's only met twice now? How would "the public" receive their presence at Charles' funeral when it eventually comes? And Charles being unwell also means William becoming king. If the family are out in California between now and that time, they are out forever. Forgotten. And, quite simply, they have not managed to make a go of it without relying on the royal connection. So it seems entirely rational for the whole family to move to the UK - not just have Harry making regular visits to see his dad - and hope to work their way back into favour with the wider family and with the public.

Haven’t they just - they could disappear into obscurity if they wanted to - but they don’t want to - mores the pity

can’t wait to see the boos they get - so they know how the majority feel about them

The house opposite mine has just sold, I understand that the new people have a young family. I’ll let you know if it turns out to be Harry and Meghan…

Are there spaces at your local primary school?

@Joliefolie She's giving up alot though. While the children are habitually resident in the US, their American parent has the upper hand in the event of a split. After they move, however, they'll be resident in the UK.

If the Duchess isn't happy in the UK this time around, she's pretty much stuck.

This. I think Charles will be dead within a year. He doesn’t look well and treatment was reduced some time ago.

I suppose it will all cost the taxpayer.

I thought it was a cspital offence to speculate the death of the king....or was that the tudors?

Can you imagine ...Jam and Jerusalem...what could possibly go wrong?

Yes Henry 8th made it treason I believe

Every single thing Meghan did has flopped and she's lost many investors and execs millions of dollars. So now she's obviously looking for narcissistic supply in the country where people are forced to worship her as subject by royal law.

Ugh, does this mean they'll get lawyers to force MN to start deleting all unfavourable posts about them again?

I don't mean this unkindly but I'm sure it's going to read as that given everything that has been said about Meghan Markle over the years... I think she calls the shots in that marriage and that she feels confident of that. We don't know what contracts have been signed etc. of course but if this doesn't work and she wants to leave, they will leave.

She won’t be happy after a while..they are grifters now

they are panicking I reckon about titles and what William might do once he is king

None of us know them.

Good for them. I hope they take it by storm and show will and Kate what it means to be a popular figure.

But they’re not popular so that’s a really bizarre thing to claim.

Gosh I can’t bear the thought of word salad being here - she’s so annoying - talking about herself as a founder of jam all the time - please..her house is worth millions - hardly launch in g a product with all the risk they founders have -

They're probably moving back for precisely this reason because Charles is in poor health and William will probably take over soon. If they refuse to see Charles until the very end, William will never forgive them and he holds all the power from thereon.

It's extremely tactical to mend a few bridges before your brother becomes King. Knowing Meghan's narc strategies, she's also trying to socially engineer a closeness between the cousins now that they're are older (including Beatrice's kids). She knows if the kids become good friends growing up, then she will always have status by proxy.

@Joliefolie I think the same, I only meant that in the event of a split, she couldn't take the children back to the US without a legal battle.

Of course, if they're together and she's not happy, they might return to the US. I'm just surprised that she's willing to move back, there must be significant reasons behind it (more than just a British education, IMO).

Are you joking? They're both only just above Andrew in the popularity polls i.e. at the bottom.

Yougov

Turning to the current members of the royal family, Prince William and wife Catherine continue to come top of the list, with 76% and 75% positive ratings respectively.
Princess Anne is not far behind, on 70%.
King Charles himself is popular with 60% of Britons – a figure unchanged from the previous poll. However, one in three (34%) have a negative view of the king.
At the other end of the table, Prince Harry and wife Meghan continue to be unpopular, with just 30% and 20% respectively taking a favourable opinion of the Sussexes.
And of course, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor comes dead last, with just 3% holding a positive view of the former prince – the joint-lowest to date. Fully 93% have a negative view of AMW, including 85% who have a “very negative” view.

I would bet there were already legal contracts in place about her having the right to move with the children.

Meg will hate it all over again. Didn’t she claim that being in close proximity to the royal family last time caused her to have suicidal thoughts?! Funny idea to go back then really in any capacity.
