To my mind, @Mylovelygreendress, the most notable thing about Harry's attendance at the coronation was his departure for Heathrow immediately after leaving the abbey

Realistically he was never going to show up on the balcony, but he didn't attend any private family celebrations which may have followed either

IIRC there was some nonsense at the time about getting back for one of the kids' birthdays, but noone will ever convince me he'd have prioritised that if there'd been any real chance of being included

StaySpicy · 12/08/2026 20:32

Agree, @Puzzledandpissedoff . He'd have stayed if he was given the chance to be on the balcony again.

I wonder how he felt having to sit back in row 3 at his father's coronation. I wonder if that was the moment he realised he made a bad choice (or ten). He could have been prominent like his brother. Not the heir but still important as the King's son at that ceremony. As it was, he was relegated to sitting behind a feather. No wonder he buggered off sharpish.

SheinSussex · 12/08/2026 20:37

What got me about the WLM shows was the effort involved to create a wonderful flower display, or gift, or bind a book or find a cure for the common cold, amidst cooking a divine feast with copious wine wearing any old thing that just happens to be luxury designer, all for her guests to stand up, hovering around a too small table getting indigestion because the table is too low to eat comfortably, all giving out the message that they weren’t allowed to sit down in case they left a skid mark on the linen furnishings.

No regrets on his part. Everyone else's fault (probably William's) he strutted around like cock of the walk.

The Sarah vine article is damning but HAM seem to bounce back and carry on

But much like Wimbledon the bounce diminishes and new balls are required.

😂😂😂 brilliant, deluded bint.

If either H or M are behind any part of that ‘W&C must swallow humble pie coz we are back in with Charles’ article in Heat.world. Com, then they have gone even more mental.

My link upthread still isn’t available, but it can be googled.

I'd be amazed if he did, @StaySpicy

More likely IMO that he'd just add it to the "proof" of how unreasonable they were all being, and whine about it when he got home (if Meghan can still bear to listen to him)

I moved countries for my husband, and have brought my kids up in another world to what I imagined growing up.

I don't feel sorry for Harry, and I don't feel sorry for me. We both chose our lives, but gosh it is weird seeing your children grow up it a different environment, and it is hard when I go home and imagine what they would have had. And I'm just a normal person. It must be very unsettling for H.

Partial copy-paste from the Heat World article. Wow:

Now, two years later, the picture is very different indeed. Not only did they travel to the UK as a family, they actually sat down with King and – by all accounts – went a significant way towards making amends, with whispers growing that Charles might even reinstate them into royal life. As our source explains, Meghan believes they’re in a stronger position than ever – safe in the knowledge that the Waleses can’t stop them, even if they want to.

‘For Meghan, the way William and Kate are behaving just proves that she and Harry were never the problem to begin with,’ we’re told. ‘She has always believed that they were singled out, and ultimately bullied by a large majority of the Firm, who were actively aided and abetted by William and Kate. It’s so obvious to her that they’ve been poisoning everybody against her and Harry for years. It’s nothing short of a miracle that Harry has managed to find a way around the tidal wave of hatred levied at them, and she gives him great credit for that. She also credits Charles for being willing to go against the Waleses for the sake of his son and grandchildren.

It’s not what anyone was expecting, least of all William and Kate. For so long, they were in the superior position, and – at least in Meghan’s view – very smug about it. And now, they’re having to swallow some humble pie.’

I suppose so. I'm probably putting onto him how I'd be feeling but he's a different kettle of fish!

@shockthemonkey Really hope that article is a load of bollocks! It's completely deluded!

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 12/08/2026 21:46

Charles wouldn't just have to be stupid, he'd have to be clinically brain-dead to be converted in a one hour meeting with people who've repeatedly slagged him off for the past five years.

And all this for an institution they're supposed to have "fled".

This is disgusting. The Sussexes like to clap back at everything? They should do on crap like this.

Apparently he "lunged at her as soon as she finished singing" usual tawdry behaviour

Sounds like all of that is straight from Meghan’s mouth, I would like Charles and Camilla’s recollections on said events, as I suspect they would vary.

Exactly. I thought the word from Meghan beforehand was she'd never consider going back and this trip was all under sufferance for Harry? Plus As Ever is doing so well 😉

The 'Charles might reinstate them' is their usual attempt at manifesting. It's not going to happen and certainly won't off the back of one tea and cakes chat at Highgrove. The interesting tell there is that HAM see it getting back at the Waleses. The 'humble pie' bit really is a pipe dream.

It really isn't credible is it. William and Catherine may be hurt by what has been said and written aboit them from the Sussexes but the nasty scheming accusations just doesn't line up when anything we know about them.

At some point surely it must occur to Harry that attacking everyone except the monarch is a short sighted policy in an hereditary system?

bluegreygreen · 12/08/2026 22:39

Yes, they're always very shortsighted in that regard.

This story (apart from showing that shortsightedness again) is another example of thinking tea and cake is the Treaty of Versailles.

It's quite an incendiary article. I really hope this hasn't come from HAM but it seems likely. I think HAM are pushing KC to reinstate them and hope there will be nothing KW can do

wordler · 12/08/2026 22:50

It’s a peculiar article. Goes way to far to be a complete fabrication so someone who knows the Sussexes has contributed.

However I can’t work out if it’s a misguided friend who was trying to help but possibly drunkenly spilled inside gossip to the wrong person.

Or it’s a frenemy / disgruntled employee who is trying to cause problems for them.

Pedant61 · 12/08/2026 22:55

Let us not forget the real power behind the throne, Queen Camilla. If she is advising the King (and she will be), surely she is not suddenly going to be Team Sussex!

AnAutumnCrow · 12/08/2026 23:03

Mylovelygreendress · 12/08/2026 21:04

Yes, similar. So, so strange and bonkers. I wonder if it comes from a mentalist squaddie-PR-assistant who has overstepped and somehow has the number of the mediaWhatsApp group?

Beesandhoney123 · 13/08/2026 00:01

even H must be able to look back and see his calamitous journey to self imposed exile started co incides with his marriage. He wont be at W coronation. Hes made it very clear over the last few years he wants nothing to do with his family, and publicly. He doesnt want to go. Honestly, what did he think would happen?

To me, it began when the tantrum was thrown about mm not being invited to a private pre wedding party for Pippa M.

Mm refused to attend unless H arrived with her? Is that right? At the time, forgetting she was an actress, divorced and a world traveller, i thought she probably felt a bit nervous. Now its so obvious she just manipulated H into being a white knight, and bam, press pics of h driving her in, as his new gf.

She was living with that chef just before she met H, in canada, just before the soho house meet up. I dont belive the blind date story anymore either. Wouldnt surprise me to learn she stalked him, staying at same hotels etc. Just got a list of the worlds most eligible bachelors, and thought fuck it, why not me?

I think it demonstrates just how desperate they are. By smugly saying that the Wales’ can’t stop them they imagine that they’re home and dry.
I don’t think that for one second and it’ll come back to slap them soon.
