HaM did not go on the staple morning shows that their target audience watches such as Good Morning America, the Today Show and CBS Mornings. (CBS which has Gayle King as an anchor should have been an easy booking.) In addition, HaM did not do the rounds on the podcasts that target their audience.

M is not a draw in the US. She has very little coverage beyond paid for pieces in People. Her cancelled show demonstrates that M could not pull in a big US audience even with all the Netflix resources at her feet as evidenced by the dismal ratings.

Almost all of the publicity for Cookie Queens was in UK media because H is KC3's son and because HaM share information with their whatsapp group. Which average US girl scout mom has even heard of the Daily Mail or the Guardian? Why would endless UK publicity matter for a US movie with a very limited release?

This is a vanity project which does not earn HaM the money they need to support their desired lifestyle and even worse adds another loss-making project to their CV, further cementing their reputation as lazy promoters and loss-makers.

I think I recall it being reported that the cameo ended up on the cutting room floor.

Thank you , that would explain the silence .
A bit like 40 X 40 etc

Which average US girl scout mom has even heard of the Daily Mail

Daily mail is global, 100 million monthly visits in the US

Fromhere1 · 11/08/2026 16:02

I wonder if Meghan could end up on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Harry's 'second Dad' David Foster was on it a little bit with Yolanda. That would be a regular income and give them lots of publicity.

I think that's next if they don't get a HIHO role

Starryfifty · 11/08/2026 16:07

Should have added, Meg is unbearably dull for reality TV though 🙄

And there's nothing 'real' about her, so it wouldn't be a reality show,it would be Meghan, acting really badly, at being what she would like people to think is Meghan, if that makes sense.

Most of the 'housewives' on those programmes are vacuous and dull, so she'd fit in just fine. Grin

Biggest websites for news US: Top 50 updated each month

Not according to Press Gazette. Given that the USA population is about 350 million, 100 million monthly visits for a UK website in the USA seems a tad high.

And your target girl scout mom would be more likely to read the Los Angeles Times (California), Houston Chronicle (Texas) or Miami Herald (Florida) online versus the Daily Mail.

Bearing in mind in all media analysis these days, bot traffic skews all of the results as half of the internet traffic is bots and bots can't go to movies...

Top 50 US news websites: Traffic decline at 90% of newsbrands in June

Press Gazette lists the top 50 biggest websites for news in the US. Monthly updated top 50 listing based on data from Similarweb.

True, but they also know that they need to be outrageous to get valuable airtime. Awful people with almost no redeeming features, I guess she'd fit in only as long as she'd take direction from the producers (which I don't think she would do).

This is something I've noticed about them both. They do next to nothing to promote their projects. Nothing for the podcasts, the IG documentary, 'With Love Meghan', the polo nonsense. Harry did do a promo tour for 'Spare' but I assume that was written into his contract. Meghan's promotion for 'As Ever' is sporadic and half hearted.

She should be out there doing the rounds of whatever TV shows will have her, and also promoting it on her IG. I think her and Harry's laziness is another reason, one of many, that they are not landing any serious projects.

And he’s used to snapping his fingers and whatever he wants is done, facilitated and he doesn’t have to do a thing.
She’s been lead to think she can do the same by batting her eyelashes, simpering and posing.
Grim lifestyle when you actually think about it.

thenightsky · 11/08/2026 17:41

I thought I'd quite like to watch the Polo documentary, being that I love horses and Jilly Cooper books, but my god, what a bunch of self absorbed arseholes they found for their main characters. And barely anything about the ponies. Sad

It's interesting because Meghan must be used to working hard. Acting involves long days and early mornings, and she was part of the Suits cast for years. She was also very good at promoting herself, though her blog and social media, when she was a minor actress. Is it just that she thinks she's above all that now that she's a Duchess?

Harry I suspect is lazy as sin and adheres to the old upper class notion that work is for the lower orders. Someone said before that, for all his 'modernising the royal family' spiel, Harry often behaves like an obnoxious, spoiled brat aristocrat from the Edwardian era.

Doesn't Harry not get up before midday?? Why can't he take care of kids? Mind you, HAM never seem to be at home

Treylime · 11/08/2026 18:14

The amount of long distance events the both go to they must have several nannies. I suspect the nannies also do most of they work even when HaM are around

Not all Royals are lazy

Earl of Wessex is 'working as a farmhand on King's Sandringham estate'

Rather than enjoying his summer break after graduating from Radley College, James, Earl of Wessex, is said to be getting stuck into the day-to-day work of the royal farm.

Julie Montagu (now Countess of Sandwich) took part in a series of Ladies of London. She had the sense to withdraw once she saw the lie of the land. It’s a very trashy concept, I think MM probably realises that and would only agree to a role as an esteemed guest.

I’d love to see MM and Lisa Vanderpump lock horns.

It's probably best for the projects if they stay well away, particularly Meghan. All I knew about this film was the brief clips of Meghan talking about it, and going on that I would have assumed it was some With Love Meghan style syrupy "look at these amazing little girl bosses!" crap. She taints any project she touches with her humourless self absorption.

On reddit they refer to it as "being Markled" btw 😁

Dizzierblonde · 11/08/2026 18:48

I saw a hilarious Reddit post which described the pair as Unsussexful - I laughed a lot and then thought, no actually what a perfect descriptor for them.

And it could have been so interesting! I would love to have heard about the ponies and their care...would have been interesting to hear from their grooms, trainers, etc. Huge potential with a program like that but they managed to make it so boring.
