Unofficial Draft Guide to RFF

MrsStarkey · 29/07/2026 20:26

Was I the only one that felt a little badly for the MN team member who tried to get our input in order to help build a guide for this forum recently? That didn’t go as planned!

Am in the only one who laughed about Justine’s “The Royal family forum
is deranged” comment and can take it in stride? That thread was definitely an example!

I am proposing we try again and help crowd source a guide. I just ask that we don’t be so RFF, and have a sense of humor while we do so. I’ll paste my draft attempt below. Everyone is welcome to contribute however they like.

What is this thread about?

Cheese and pigeons mainly.

Shockingly rude.

🤣 , I find someone who inserts themselves into a question that has nothing to do with them whatsoever to tell me it’s nothing to do with them, shockingly rude personally! 🤣

There was a cheese subject on Mastermind the other day and I rocked it 🤣 I’m obsessed with cheese and would be happy with more cheese related talk.

William’s favourite cheese is apparently Kaltbach Creamy, which I have tried once but it’s expensive 🤤

I’m sorry empress! , access has been denied! 😁

IAmATorturedPoet · 04/08/2026 18:40

Macaroni with cheese 😋 .

I’m not touching that unless that pigeon has washed his hands/wings!! 🤣

A poster(s) mentioned cheese and pigeons, and honestly, what can’t you find on the internet these days!!

I’ve really no idea what this thread is about now, but I’m enjoying it for its randomness (and happy to add to it!)😊

LipglossAndLies · 04/08/2026 19:44

So if someone went onto PR disasters and starts mentioning Andrew we shoukd t see any comments abojt derailing then after all according this unofficial guide conversation meander and other things can be mentioned and discussed 💁‍♀️

That was me!! , however as the original originator of the cheese threads apparently, any mention of cheese from me seems to be a coded cardinal sin! 🙄 and yes, as Mrsleon correctly stated, it started because myself and others wished to discuss our love of cheese and recipes and we were told it was derailing, so I started them and it went well until posters started having weird delusions it was some secret code! 🤷‍♀️

I thought it might have been you! A jaunty cheese beret would very much suit you, @jeffgoldblum.

I am not referring to a discussion like that.

A lot of what is said on forums are personal opinion. So if I were to say, I thought Meghan's As Ever series was great cinematography, I believe I am entitled to say that opinion.
If someone comes along and says, I thought it was awful, too saccharine and overdone, they are entitled to that opinion also

However, if another poster on this thread that is skewed into knocking Meghan, then says 'ignore the feathered friends' or 'here come the pigeons', or 'just ignore them' it is pretty obvious to me that is trying to see off anyone who isn't of the same mindset as them.

I am not referring to a discussion like that.

Well I am. And I am asserting that the RF thread discussions do not pulling the pigeon-chess assertion on discussions that go the way you describe in this post of yours.

We can agree to disagree but it has happened to me in the past. @Rhaidimiddim

I would sincerely like to know why republicans are so committed to defending Harry and Meghan! , because as far as I can tell, that is not the usual behaviour or aim of any republicans that post on the royal family topic that ive conversed with.

Every last one can get in the bin as far as I'm concerned but I'm sure you know that 😎

Pigeons are known as 'tree rats' in this house.

If they're cooking, I'm out 🐦

Courtesy of Steven Breheny:

“We domesticated pigeons. They are (nearly) all over the world because HUMANS BROUGHT THEM THERE. And, they were more than pets. They carried messages. People raced them. They lived spoiled lives as honored human companions for centuries.

Then we got telephones and we threw them out like trash.

Literally, we threw them away.

Their species had already been fully domesticated and they could not survive in the wild; they lost all their survival instincts during the centuries that they lived caged by people.

That is why they live in cities with people instead of in a forest somewhere. It’s OUR fault. And not only did we throw them away, but now humans curse them as “winged rats;” casting them as pests.

But they don’t know how to live without us, and their instincts tell us that they should trust us. So, they continue to come up to humans and beg for food, because it’s the only survival skill left in their genes.

They love us because they were bred by us to feel that way, and yet we hate them.”

Hygiene is a must as far as I’m concerned!! , and I’m afraid pigeons as much as I don’t mind them in the garden, are not a “hygienic bird” 🤷‍♀️

I’m finding it hard listening to these stories! , considering the treatment I have experienced on this board over the last 6 years!
attacked ! , stalked, harassed and maligned! , let’s not play victim Olympics …there is always a winner!

I don’t know. This is a thread about this forum and its posters so it is rather broad. The meandering is like icebreakers and team builders at work. It shows we can all laugh together!

I read that link posted on page one and learned that other forums here have sociable and off topic threads. I like that idea.

Edited

I just wanted clarification because when it does meander using Andrew an example there will be some posters who will object to it and report you for derailong yet the same posters are happy to let other things like cheese, pigeons etc... to be mentioned mostly because its then doing it. So the point about this being an unofficial guide then its needs to clear about this.

It’s unofficial. That means it’s not official.

But what is the deal with cheese?
