Unofficial Draft Guide to RFF

Was I the only one that felt a little badly for the MN team member who tried to get our input in order to help build a guide for this forum recently? That didn’t go as planned!

Am in the only one who laughed about Justine’s “The Royal family forum
is deranged” comment and can take it in stride? That thread was definitely an example!

I am proposing we try again and help crowd source a guide. I just ask that we don’t be so RFF, and have a sense of humor while we do so. I’ll paste my draft attempt below. Everyone is welcome to contribute however they like.

I’m an outlier I really like pigeons, I have a couple who live in my garden, I do wish they wouldn’t poop in the bird bath though, they are the only birds that do that the rest have much better manners.

I too have an issue with that!! , however in my case it’s wood pigeons and they seem enormous!

They drink turn around and then poop in the water! You would never see the same behaviour from the good old blackbird!

We sometimes refer to ours as “The Bird Toilet”

I would sincerely like to know why republicans are so committed to defending Harry and Meghan! , because as far as I can tell, that is not the usual behaviour or aim of any republicans that post on the royal family topic that ive conversed with.

Yes I don’t understand that at all 🤷‍♀️

Yes mine do that too! , with the additional irritation of while turning to poop they knock over my integrated fountain ⛲️! 🙄

Since we are on the topic of pigeons, people keep dropping cheese references in this thread as if it’s ghastly. Can someone that’s upset about cheese please explain WTH it means to them?

There was a series of threads that ended up with posters discussing their favourite cheese. Maybe it refers to that?

I find it very odd indeed that anyone who claims to be a republican would want to defend the self-confessed monarchist Harry Mountbatten-Windsor. Or Sussex, as he likes to be known, because he’s a monarchist and a royalist. He is the living embodiment of royal hanger-on-ism.

The pigeons in my garden are turkey sized!

Someone said I’ll eat my hat if XXX and then joked about it being made of cheese so would be enjoyable. I think.

That was me!! , however as the original originator of the cheese threads apparently, any mention of cheese from me seems to be a coded cardinal sin! 🙄 and yes, as Mrsleon correctly stated, it started because myself and others wished to discuss our love of cheese and recipes and we were told it was derailing, so I started them and it went well until posters started having weird delusions it was some secret code! 🤷‍♀️

I’m not a republican or the other one.
most people I should imagine don’t fit neatly in to a particular category.

I take your point about the op being able to steer the thread.

But after five threads on the same subject for example, ie nearly 5000 posts, surely the discussion is going to widen a bit?

I don’t think, for example, discussion about a different country’s privacy law, or how the British press is viewed globally, is entirely off topic in a discussion about ANL v Harry when looking at a wider picture of press sensationalism, gossip and pushing the boundaries?

If most posters are very much anti-Harry, as has already been declared, with posters openly saying they wanted him to lose and “can’t wait” for him to receive the largest amount of damages possible, then I can understand that focusing on the less admiral side of the British press overall and different attitudes to privacy law in different countries, might not something possibly that you would want to linger on, whereas in most other normal circumstances everyone happily derides tabloids tactics!

As the OP of the ANL threads, it's not difficult to fill 5 threads with a 4 year long case, which has included a 9 week long trial since the threads started.

The recent comments from a visitor to the thread who wished to discuss French privacy law and press actions were treated on merit, and the discussion was robust, until personal comments on other posters (which we haven't had on those threads) and bringing in other thread topics and other RF members meant that the derailing had to be curtailed.

( @MrsStarkey I thought it was worth clarifying this, but am happy to ask for this post to be deleted if you think it is not helpful in this thread.)

Yes blue!! , I also liked to model the titles around die hard films!! 😁 “cheese hard” and cheese harder “ , were my particular favourites! And as specified they were for cheese , recipes and royal gossip!

edit to add ! , I was particularly sad when they ended before I got to use “ cheese hard with a vengeance “ .

Agreed. Posters are allowed to express opinions on here for goodness sake! Keep expressing them @threesocksmorgan

MrsLeonFarrell · 04/08/2026 18:10

I have really enjoyed the ANL threads and am the thread about cases. I've learnt loads about the law and quite a bit about celebrities', quite unrealistic, convictions that none of their friends ever leak. They weren't really royal family threads, although they got bunged in here because Harry was one of the defendants.

There was a cheese subject on Mastermind the other day and I rocked it 🤣 I’m obsessed with cheese and would be happy with more cheese related talk.

William’s favourite cheese is apparently Kaltbach Creamy, which I have tried once but it’s expensive 🤤

Agree yet we will be labelled as such or a sussex squad member or a fan or whatever rlavel or box we need ro be out in other than just acknowledging someone has a different mindset and perspective or opinion and that is all there is to it. Nothing more or less and no other labels are required
