Was I the only one that felt a little badly for the MN team member who tried to get our input in order to help build a guide for this forum recently? That didn’t go as planned!

Am in the only one who laughed about Justine’s “The Royal family forum
is deranged” comment and can take it in stride? That thread was definitely an example!

I am proposing we try again and help crowd source a guide. I just ask that we don’t be so RFF, and have a sense of humor while we do so. I’ll paste my draft attempt below. Everyone is welcome to contribute however they like.

I'm sure that was what you received by email, don't doubt it! 👍🏼

How very strange. You did a link to the new thread 13March at 0813. I clicked on it and got this..

Sadly we have decided to remove this thread - we feel that the Cheese threads have run their course. They were becoming too much like threads about other threads which goes against our Talk guidelines.

I’m getting nothing from the link apart from the screenshot I posted, and clicking on yours brings up nothing but a blank screen.

simpsonthecat · 14/08/2026 16:03

Mine isnt a link, I copy and pasted what I got when I clicked on your link on your thread at the date and time mentioned above

Here is a pic of it. No idea why it is different for you

Anyway this discussion is best left! , it’s now veering into a taat itself and may well end up with deletions.

simpsonthecat · 14/08/2026 16:14

That's fine, I just wanted to prove I wasn't making it up!! 😂🤣😅🙂

MrsStarkey · 14/08/2026 16:19

Thanks Jeff! I skimmed a bit and it looked like good fun.

Hopefully it was ok to discuss this here since it was MN that asked about culture and history on the board and this seems to be part of it.

No problem mrsstarkey , you were curious and nobody else was answering so I thought there was no harm in linking so you could read them yourself, however I think further discussion might be problematic, so best to be cautious 👍

Rewrite history?

I thought you were like me and didn’t know about cheese threads.

Or are my recollections varying?

savemydrawers · 14/08/2026 21:55

I'm getting very odd feeds on my FB with all this talk of cheese and pigeons 😂😂

I got a car advert with 600 miles of hybrid freedom.

So, out of curiosity I googled.

600 miles of Hybird freedom…?

The thing I find most amazing was their contributions during WW1 and 2 carrying messages!

@savemydrawers Did you know that Arthur Fonzarelli kept pigeons?

In the season 3 episode "Two Angry Men" (1976), Fonzie keeps his pigeon coop on top of Howard Cunningham's garage/apartment roof. Disaster strikes when a heavy blizzard hits and the pigeon coop crashes right through the ceiling into Fonzie's living space. This leads to a comical small-claims court battle between Fonzie and Howard over whether the collapse was caused by the weight of the cage or the snow

You should read the ones available. They were lovely. Fellowship and camaraderie amongst the frequent posters on this board.

At the end of 2 you can see what happened though. It was a dire time.
