Harry might be liable for £48m Costs

I just read Harry might be liable for £48m costs. No wonder he wanted to see Charles. Trouble is he's won most of his court cases up till now and has made a tidy sum out of them. He must be insured against this surely. And the others will be liable too. But I don't suppose any of them has £48m to spare.

how does anyone afford that

Wiglio · 29/07/2026 16:08

There’s a Duke of Sussex and others v ANL thread with excellent insights into this

The king is a billionaire so he definitely can spare £48m easily 🙄

Seajaye · 29/07/2026 16:33

Apparently Prince Harry also contacted Sir Elton John as well about the costs. Sir Elton apparently told him he wasn't an ATM

Doreen Lawrence and some of the others won't have this kind of money

Why should he?

I agree. Charles shouldn't pay for spoilt brat Harry. Meghan will just need to make a few more jars of jam.

Because Harry is his son....blood being thicker than water and all that?

More to the point why should the taxpayer? Because ultimately that’s where the money has come from.

Harry criticised a Judge of HM’s Courts .
Not a good look and even worse if KC pays the bill .

I don’t think it’s jam. I think legally it has to be called spread … or something … but definitely isn’t jam … 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Not jam. It's spread. It does not meet the fruit content to be called jam, I recall.

Sod that. There comes a time when they stand on their own two feet and stop running home to be bailed out.

If either of mine (adults) cranked up a debt, they’d be responsible for it.

Other way around. It doesn't meet the sugar to fruit ratio that's required to legally call it jam, but because it's lower in sugar than it ought to be, not lower in fruit. That was probably out of a desire to make it 'healthier' I suspect, but also means it's been criticised for being runny. Sugar gives jam its consistency.

Funny how Harry wasn't demonstrating any loyalty or closeness when he was trashing Pa and the rest of the RF for money.
Nasty, pernicious, greedy man.

Bet Elton John has! Anyway it’s split between all of them. Perhaps Harry will now stop this endless suing of the press!

Unlikely. He's got nothing else to do.

Elton has already said no! Harry asked him first. #classy

Thanks. I remember looking it up ages ago.

Sentebale is suing Harry and Mark Dyer for defamation. Papers were lodged at the end of March.

JGIAFOC · 30/07/2026 02:08

The family found the money to pay off a woman Andrew raped so they shouldn’t have a problem paying for this of needed.

And look at the criticism the RF received for that !
I doubt they would repeat that mistake .
