No discussions of current members of the RF, no de railing by talking about tax or ownership of certain pieces.

I wonder if her wedding ring will include the bling and the engagement ring is only brought out for special occasions. I would have smashed it within a day I am so clumsy.

1. Why does Kate not wear her wedding earrings more often?

2. She appears to have up to 5 rings in her stack at a time: 3 eternity (2 diamond, 1 sapphire and diamond), wedding band and engagement ring. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason to which ones she wears and in what order.

Kate always looks lovely in that tiara, it really suits her.

I liked Catherine and Charlotte' s headpiece at the coronation. If you remember, the invitation had a Green Man theme. The head pieces reminded me of the greenery on the invitation, and gave the two of them a fairy tale quality.

The artist who drew the invitation wrote a book on heraldry, which I subsequently bought.

I have never seen these, they are absolutely gorgeous and I love reading about Green Man and spotting him in old churches! Thanks so much for sharing, they are beautiful and now POW’s headdress makes sense.

I love embroidery too and thought Camilla’s dress was amazing. POW had 2 dresses didn’t she? I haven’t worked them out yet but the necklines were different.

QC did wear a stomacher to the Diplomatic Reception (Dec 2023) but it seems a small and cheap looking one - too much filigree, too small diamonds - compared to what she might have chosen:

Ok here is the ‘fault’ on the tiara.
When QM had it made (from a tiara she already owned -nobody re purposed jewellry as much as Mary did!) she wanted to use her ‘new’ jewels with it -namely pieces of the Cullinan. She also quite liked her Cambridge Emeralds and intended to take them intheir new settings to India with her for the Durbar
For those who don’t know the Durbar was a form of Coronation in acknowledgement of the King & Queen being Emperor & Empress of India. Then - as now- the Crown Jewels are not allowed to leave the shores of the UK ever so a new set of jewellry, suitable for an Empress -had to be made. This was made at no cost to the British purse. It was funded entirely by the Queen. It also had to stand up with the maharajas who would be bedecked in jewels -the men & the women.
So, I hve included two pictures of Mary wearing the DD tiara , one with a large cabochon emerald and one with Cullinan lll and lV attached .
Now look at the picture of Camilla wearing it.
Yes it looks fabulous. But there’s an annoying bit of wire (well silver actually) at the top with , well nothing , attached to it.
And it drives me mad. When QEII loaned the DD tiara to Camilla she obviously didn’t offer any of the ‘toppers’ either. Maybe it would be thought far to ‘much’now to wear it as it was designed - but I think if anyone could carry it off Queen Camilla could.

I’m so pleased that the Strathmore rose tiara has made a resurgence.
It needed re setting as the gold had deteriorated and it wasn't considered stable enough to be worn.

Your post of it and saying it’s your favourite made me think of the Queen Mother who seemed to only wear two tiaras - the Greville honeycomb and the oriental circlet.
All of the tiaras she had access to - especially ones bought for her by her husband /family - she just didn’t seem to like.
The Strathmore rose - never seen for 100 years until Catherine wore it, bought as a wedding gift by her parents.
The Cartier halo tiara -present from her husband when Duke of York. Not worn publically after 1934 and then borrowed by Margaret
The lotus Tiara - originally a necklace , a Wedding gift from her husband. Made into a tiara. Not worn after the 1930s, borrowed by Margaret and then lifetime loan to Margaret.
The Persian Turquose Tiara - a gorgeous Russian style tiara- clearly not to Elizabeth’s liking as she promptly removed the top row of diamonds, wore it twice in public and passed it onto Princess Margaret. Another tiara that was returned to the vaults on the death of Margaret.

I haven’t posted pictures of these tiaras (I can if people are interested)but l wondered if there is a limit of how many pictures I am allowed to post in a day?

I'm not easily made envious but the jewels can manage it, and all I want (pretty please) is just an hour on my own in the vault to admire them all up close

Look at her regal posture, especially in the first of those two pics posted by DaisyDooley. Even in old age it was head up, shoulders back, no slouching.

I’ve always had a fascination with Mary. I love to see good posture.

Oh, I see what you mean! I think it still stands on its own as an amazing tiara but yes, Camilla absolutely could have carried it off with the diamond.
