If H and M come for Christmas at Sandringham, W and K will be at her parents in Bucklebury.

Sophie and Edward won't be there either. Sophie loathes her.

bluegreygreen · 10/07/2026 20:41

Not quite correct re BP @Indianrollerbird - the invitation wasn't re-offered after Harry turned it down.
The staff (who would have had to be sourced from other residences) had already been stood down when he decided to change his mind.

Yes, I agree. Somewhat troubling that the BP accommodation was allegedly pulled in case Harry did his usual victim act after the court case; but he gets rewarded with a meet up with the king (however brief and perfunctory) following troubling allegations that he tried to drug a young woman. I don't think Charles is a quick learner.

Edited

I don't think it is reward, I think it's sensible for Charles to meet his grandchildren and their parents and release one line about a private visit happening. It removed the dreadful father narrative that the Sussexes were pushing, removes any hint that they are working royals and keep inline with the original statement about their future status being simply family members.

If they leak about this they are very foolish.

My point being: it should never have been offered in the first place.

Realistically, they are a busted flush. Not to sound grim but KC is very elderly and it's likely PW will be king in the next 5 (ish) years. I really can't see how he would allow the HIHO that HAM desperately want / need now. Every single venture they have attempted has completely imploded. I really don't see a way back for them in the US. Only future they have is if KC puts a firm HIHO role in place for them now

I'm afraid this fills me with gloom as the annual Christmas will they/won't they will now be ramped up beyond all proportion.
I sincerely hope they won't get an invitation - pity all the other family members, how to ruin Christmas in one. I
If they are invited and accept, I would advise William and Catherine to debunk to her parents house and announce a Middleton Christmas.

If I were one of MIGS, I would see it as a terrible idea. W and C are the future of the monarchy. They might decide to give it a miss, which is not good for the institution. The Sandringham church walk generates a lot of feel good publicity and you would want to the heir and his family there. And if W and C did decide to attend, you would face the prospect of the two women drawing daggers at each other and an overall frosty atmosphere as I think most of the extended family have no time for them.

Yes, especially with the 'no images will be released'. If they do somehow manage to sneak a photo out, it will be obvious this was done against the express wishes of the King. It was clever to get that in the public statement.

From what people have worked out, the meeting can't have been longer than an hour or two. And particularly with Camila present, I doubt any 'business' was discussed. So I imagine a rather awkward meeting with two bewildered children, Meghan trying her faux charm, Harry being subdued, Charles being guarded and Camila doing her best not to show her disgust. She's a bigger woman than me.

I think it’s more likely they were summoned for a bollocking after Harry’s pop at the judiciary, and to be told not to expect any assistance from the bank of Pa.

I hope 🤞

We'll have to agree to disagree. Harry has been proven to be a prodigious liar under oath, a vexatious litigant, has libeled a highly respected judge, and is an alleged would be date drugger. And they also had a moan about the BP accommodation, thus the "dreadful father" narrative is never very far away from this pair, and an hour's meeting is unlikely to change that. Working royals or not, they bring the RF into disrepute as family members being indulged. Looking foolish is their stock in trade. They simply don't care, because they think they are always right.

I think that KC has played it well. He likely breezed in for a cup of tea, scone and jam (Duchy of course!). A quick pat of the head for the children and probably 'do take a stroll around the gardens' and off he may have gone to change for evening prior dinner commitments do we think? He's certainly not been taken hostage by HAM from what I can see.

Now love. This is jam. And look no sprinkles.

ShamedBySiri · 10/07/2026 20:53

So how do we think it went?

  1. “Lovely to see you Darling boy. And you Meghan. Hello Archie and Lily. Hot weather isn’t it. Have a scone. Here’s some jam. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Bye bye”.

or…2. “Lovely to see you Archie and Lily. Nanny would you like to take them into the garden with the butler.”
Followed by a massive bollocking. And no, the bank of Dad is closed.

Horses7 · 10/07/2026 20:54

Ohpleeeease · 10/07/2026 20:14

No, I can’t see this as positive, I’m afraid. H and MM are trying to build a connection between Charles and their children and he’s fallen for it. It will be a lot harder for him to exercise any authority he might have because they’ve found his weak spot. Silly man.

Edited

Agree!

IcedPurple · 10/07/2026 20:56

We know Charles' diary is set months in advance.

So no doubt this brief meeting had been planned some time ago. Which means all the hoo ha about 'will they or won't they', how Harry was 'desperate' to get security increased, how London was too dangerous but Birmingham was fine and so on and so forth... all of this was just a ruse to keep the headlines coming. So very obvious.

And what has now also been proven beyond doubt is that the family can come to Britain without anyone being any the wiser. For all we know the whole family could have arrived days ago.

You would like to think that the presence of facts would put an end to Sussex melodrama, but unfortunately I doubt it will.

Quite, @IcedPurple. And yet Charles still
went ahead with it. Either he’s being played, or he’s colluding, or both.

"No images will be released" (photo to follow)

Yes, that wording suggests a private photo or two was taken. I’ll eat a cheese hat too if that photo isn’t “accidentally” revealed in the background of some photo drop. On a sideboard or a notice board in the kitchen. The only question is how long they leave it. A couple of months tops imo.

My2cents1975 · 10/07/2026 21:00

Charles the Enabler strikes again!

A 41-year old man who insulted the judiciary and had his proxie Omid name KC3 as a royal racist was rewarded with a visit to King Pa for some royal gloss.

It is no surprise that H has not grasped that actions lead to consequences. A long enough, loud enough temper tantrum got him what he wanted.

IMHO, KC3 has truly failed as a parent and as a King.

Or he decided that a brief meeting with his son and grandchildren, with his wife present as a 'witness', making it clear that this was private and no photos would be released, was the least bad option.

Families are complicated and there isn't a perfect solution to some problems. Harry and his wife being one.

Maybe it’ll be their 2026 Christmas Card!!!

Starryfifty · 10/07/2026 21:06

We really don't know. Perhaps KC health is suffering? But I do agree with some posters here, again PH gets away with appalling behaviour. His comments about the Judge should have shut the whole thing down. He and others caused a lot of damage to many people at the DM yet he's prancing around on ITV gyrating on A Hammond. They will merch this meeting but will get away with it again

JudgeJ · 10/07/2026 21:06

I really don't think H believes it either tbh

It's straight out of the Diana playbook!

Ferryl · 10/07/2026 21:07

I wonder when Meghan and the children arrived in UK and where they stayed. I have to admire her, I don’t quite know what to call it - brazenness maybe - in meeting up with KC.

Balls of steel. She genuinely doesn't care. Guess it's to be admired
