King of Belgium's younger brother was also approached by Epstein yet the answer he gave him was very different to Andrew's. Or so he now claims!

https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/belgium-s-prince-laurent-says-he-declined-invitations-from-epstein/3818362

Wonder if any further dumps of Epstein documents will corroborate.

simpsonthecat · 12/09/2026 20:26

Any royal will get away with anything. We know that.
Cover ups, smoke and mirrors, clever PR, and get the friendly media onside etc
There is no way to hold any royal person to account in any way shape or form we have to understand that, they are protected by the government and the media

There is nothing we can do. If AMW didn't see it off, nothing will. He was the catalyst as far as I'm concerned. Passing on confidential government papers, mixing for decades with a sex trafficker and paedophile, but none of this has had any effect on the royal family

No wonder some of us get angry. Hardly surprising!

@simpsonthecat I'm angry and I support a constitutional monarchy. I am still hoping he (AMW) can be arrested for misconduct in public office, I agree wholeheartedly with you on this . Going to face a judge in the US re Epstein , as I understand it he cannot be made to (someone tell me if I am wrong) .
But I wish he could be made to. As I understand it the Epstein thing and the misconduct are two different things , with different ways of bringing him to account (IANAL - please someone tell me if I am wrong) . But my choice would be he is brought to account for both . Let's start with one which is the one the UK could do if they have the evidence , and let's hope they get the evidence . I think the mood is to uncover the evidence and see where it leads.

ETA interested to see as @CathyorClaire says whether any other royal (belgian) ne'erdowell's evidence will support a case against AMW. It would be pretty to think so , as Hemingway once said.

simpsonthecat · 13/09/2026 13:32

Agree with all you say @BasiliskStare

I believe Thames valley police are looking into the misconduct in public office. At least that is better than the Met. Thames valley say their investigations are ongoing. I just hope they don't stretch it all out and hope we forget about it. The rest of it seems to have just folded, nothing happening. Surprise, not.

The MW email trail seems very clear.

I don't know about these things but I do wonder why anyone might seek to frame a then respected prince for treasonous activity and go on to bury it among millions of documents that might very well never have been expected to surface.

I'm calling get a move on, due process.

Kirschcherries · 14/09/2026 08:00

@BasiliskStare Its two separate cases.

Misconduct in public office is definitely for the UK courts. As it involves the Official Secrets Act any court case is highly likely to be held behind closed doors. This will be because the contents of briefings and emails maybe too sensitive to be disclosed to the public. We would get to know the outcome.

At the moment the police etc. are still gathering information, some I believe is being withheld by the US. I expect it to take several years for this to come to court. Note Rape victims can wait years to have their court cases heard.

I know many would object to a behind closed doors court case but national security comes first.

WRT Epstein primarily that is a US case. The US Government could apply to have AMW extradited but I think it is highly unlikely.

I know my view is not popular but I have never thought the poor women and men trafficked and abused would see justice.

I believe Epstein, and others, used the victims to gain “evidence” to blackmail and coerce primarily powerful men to obtain sensitive information for monetary gain. The bigger picture was bribery and corruption and the victims were treated as disposable - an awful thing to do.

I don’t think we will ever get the full truth.

If there is evidence AMW had sex with trafficked women in the UK there could be a court case. However, at the time of the offences the law was different and AMW will claim he had no idea the victims were trafficked so the CPS have no grounds on which to prosecute.

simpsonthecat · 14/09/2026 10:46

@Kirschcherries
I agree with you.
I am not sure the survivors of JE will ever see justice

I know it's The Sun and the usual "sources" but if it's true then SF has been very busy during her downtime.

Thanks for the link.

Slightly smacks of Ferg pals talking the thing up to encourage a bidding war but a tell-all has long been on the cards.

Quite how she thinks she's going to 'settle' the Epstein connection is beyond me. We've all seen the damning emails.

Does she think we're going to simply take her word for it there's nothing untoward like her thick oaf of an ex?

Decacaffeinatednow · 25/09/2026 09:45

Nothing would surprise me @CathyorClaire

simpsonthecat · 25/09/2026 09:47

I take this with a pinch of salt because can she be really this thick?
She wants to 'settle concerns' about her relationship with Epstein. As you say, we've all seen the grovelling emails to her supreme friend!

It's either brass neck or lacking brain cells

If it's true then I suspect all of the above!

AnnunciataM · 25/09/2026 10:30

As I said upthread, I don't know how she kept defending her odious ex when he was happy to throw her under the bus (the fake sheikh incident) when it was convenient for him. Yes, money but really? It sounded like the late Queen was still fond of her so I doubt she'd have let her starve.

Well the queen did bail her out from bankruptcy at least twice

Apparently not true.

However, a spokesperson for the former Duchess of York, 66, told The Independent: “Sarah Ferguson is not close to signing a mutli-million dollar book deal as has been reported. She has no plans to write any tell all memoir.”

Thank god for that!
She'd be a fool to even try that

I thoiught she'd already written her story soon after their divorce?
At least her time in the RF.
I suppose she could add more about JE, but I think the emails speak for themselves

Yes, it was called My Story by Sarah DoY etc etc
It was a whinge fest about how awful life was for her within the RF. She went on Oprah to talk about it

The trouble is her income stream with books has completely dried up now she can't use any title. She certainly used it big time when she could!
(Dining with the Duchess. Dieting with the Duchess, historical Mills &Boon blah blah)

'No plans' to write a memoir doesn't mean they won't change 'unexpectedly' should the right wallet open. She undoubtedly has... interesting stories up her sleeve. And that denial very carefully doesn't rule out an interview.

Ferg has always been for sale. I don't believe for a minute she's not exploring Fast Buck Avenue.

Not that any deal will do her any long-term good. She'll spunk any gains and be passing the hat around yet again before anyone can say 'shameless'.

AnnunciataM · 25/09/2026 23:14

If she wasn't so patently lacking in morals and ethics, one could almost admit a smidgeon of admiration at the way she always managed to bounce back.

simpsonthecat · 26/09/2026 06:03

That has always been her forte... good old Sarah, she always bounces back (said with a hint of admiration...)
However, I think that well worn part of her character is now lost. No one wants to see or hear from her again
