About 8 different posters talked about this article that a poster linked (see below) about funeral plans for AMW of which I was one.i presume you didn't read the discussion about it?

I have no idea why you picked up on my particular post from weeks ago to question me. But not anyone else. We all had a discussion about it. Do feel free to join in but we have moved on to different points now.
By the way, I'll post what I want within the guidelines 😅

And I'll reply to any post I like. He's not dead, as far as I know he's not dying. Why waste time fretting about his funeral, you might be dead first.

simpsonthecat · 02/09/2026 16:10

I have explained once, a number of us were discussing an article that had been linked on here, that's the nature of a discussion forum!
I don't fret, I am more likely to laugh 😂
You post where you like, as will I, but don't expect another reply about what we were discussing weeks and weeks ago. However, please do join in if any recent events interest you 👍

Someone shared an article about funeral plans, we had a brief discussion and then the conversation moved on. I hardly think @simpsonthecat is losing sleep over AMW'S funeral, it was just a discussion about an article. We are all perfectly aware that he is alive and well!

You are being unfair to @simpsonthecat by belatedly responding to posts from several weeks ago.

A link has been provided to the article that led to the valid discussion we held at the time.

I don't need your permission to post. Not sure why you think it is appropriate to say that.

The thread came up, I don't comment unless I read through the thread. If there's a time limit maybe posts should be hidden if they are too old to be commented on.

There is no time limit on responding, but your posts did not reflect that you had read the full thread and were aware of the context in which the op and others were discussing the article.

My post reflected my reaction to giving opinions on funeral arrangements for someone who is alive unless they are close and want you to know for when the time comes. You don't approve? Never mind I will survive.

Had to go back nearly a month to find I posted the original article.

I think it's entirely fine to discuss whether or not the hard-pressed taxpayer might be expected to ease the financial burden of a billionaire head of state when it comes to sending off a thoroughly disgraced relative of now minor national importance.

Yes
It's an interesting discussion. And all of us that did talk about it had different but relevant views on the piece you linked. 👍

What is interesting is that the only named person is AMW, not a single American. I have no issue in AMW being interviewed however he is one of 100s of powerful men, why are none of them being named and interviewed?

There is also an issue about US authorities releasing evidence to UK police.

This does seem like the US deflecting all the blame to a non-US citizen to protect high profile US citizens.

Decacaffeinatednow · 02/09/2026 21:01

@Kirschcherries
Thomas Massie has also named David Copperfield the magician and Les Wexner - owner of Victoria Secrets and Bath and Body Works. He also has named Jes Staley, Leon Black and Lesley Groff - all American.

Edited

Thanks for the correction, I only read the article. It’s only right others are named.

Decacaffeinatednow · 02/09/2026 21:16

Absolutely agree with you @Kirschcherries
Thomas Massie has been at the forefront of the drive to reveal all of the Epstein allies.

Excuse the long link. It seems that AMW is jetting around all over Europe with a new girlfriend and flying under the radar

Royal expert Andrew Lownie claims the royal freeze-out is largely theatre for the public’s benefit.

They really do think we're stupid 🙄

Yes they really do and shown us time and time again with their actions or should that be lack of actions

BasiliskStare · 12/09/2026 16:28

FWIW , I think AMW has been publicly humiliated in his own terms By which I mean he is still living in a nice 4 bedroomed house with staff , which many would aspire to. But the bumptious ne'erdowell is no longer known by the titles which he thought were his right and he used egregiously. & I think that will rankle will him to say the least . Is it enough? Do I wish he could be made to testify in the US? Oh dear Lord yes , and if as he says he has done nothing wrong , why would be not? I'm losing hope he'll ever be made to answer for those things. I still have some (glimmer of) hope he may be held to account for misconduct in public office. & if he buggers off to Dubai or Europe with some unfortunate / gullible woman , well at least they have extradition treaties ( I think I'm right with Dubai?)

History tells us a royal is rarely held to account, recent events of trying to shield him further prive it. A Royal could kill someone and they would get away with it.

This Prince Laurent of Belgium, @AnnunciataM?

Not really someone who's word I'd want to take for anything, though I did have to smile at his claim that he "didn't know" the use of the navy money was illegal

Straight out of our own Charles's playbook, that one ...

AnnunciataM · 12/09/2026 19:28

Oh yes, I knew about his prior indiscretions, hence the "so he claims"!

Phil could well have done when he pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle while still driving at 97.

Unsurprisingly he got away with it without charges 🙄
