If they were here, we would know about it. It would be leaked, kids jumping up and down with excitement to see their beloved grandfather etc 🙄

Katie Nicholl was emotional last night. She was ill with stress because of the accusations thrown at her. She battled cancer. She was invited to H's inner circle which he vehemently denied but she could back it up. H is one very very nasty individual and I really hope people see him for exactly what he is

I watched that, she just about managed not to break down in tears poor woman, she found out that she was being accused of illegal information gathering while recovering from her cancer operation, so not only did she have to deal with the huge stress of cancer, she had to defend her professional reputation against Prince Harry, and this went on for years, I can’t even begin to imagine the stress and upset she felt, it must have set her recovery back by some way. The judge’s comments were very supportive of her as a witness and I’m so glad she has had the opportunity to be able to say how Harry’s lies have affected her.

Ferryl · 08/07/2026 09:54

Can the judge, or the judiciary in general, “clap back” at H’s remarks? I’m not saying he/they should, just wondering if they can. And can H go around casting aspersions like that without any repercussions?

BigWillyLittleTodger · 08/07/2026 10:00

I’ve always thought it odd we have never seen Harry ever fly a helicopter, we’ve seen him pictured sat in one but as far as I’m aware never flying one, it would have been a great photo op for “the gram” Harry flying Meghan and the kids around California, I’ve even seen Fergie fly a helicopter but never Harry.

I think the army gave Harry the rigidity he needed. The RF, and school did the same. Since he’s been with Meghan he’s been floundering, probably because, they are bring out the worst in each other, in stead of the best.

I think this is it. There are a lot of people who don't have much self-discipline and so they need the routine of school or job or whatever in order to function at their best. You often find people like that in the armed services. You often find people who aren't school bright as well, but they may have good raw talent, physicality, spatial awareness, problem solving skills, etc. Give them an English exam and they'll flunk it, but give them something practical and complex and they'll be in their element. I think Harry is that kind of person and I think he's been lost and floundering since he left the army and the RF, where he had people to keep him busy, on task, focused and who were there to either pre-empt and divert him from his baser instincts, or hush things up when he fucked up. Since Megxit we've seen Harry off the leash and it's been a bloody disaster.

As Allison Pearson said in her article in The Telegraph: "As for his wife, the (mis)calculating Duchess pulled off a reverse fairytale – she kissed a charming, popular prince and turned him into a frog the British people couldn’t care less about." By removing Harry from the structure and protection offered by the RF, she has unleashed the undisciplined, petulant and angry man he really is and this is the result.

We're probably going off at a tangent but given these continuing suspicions about H it's maybe important to realise that during a lot of flying training, especially military, especially at basic level, there is a lot of solo flying (probably close to 50% during the later stage of some courses, if not more).

What that means is as a student progresses through a course there's less and less opportunity for an instructor to assist.....but nevertheless those solo flights may/will be monitored to some degree, and the student would expect to demonstrate they'd improved their skills on those solo flights during the routine dual check rides that pop up through courses...

Fundamentally flying training is nothing like learning to drive where you get lots and lots of dual instruction, and it's dual instruction only, and then suddenly you go through a single check drive...pass that and your "through".

Now I think what's happened to H's state of mind in the last 7 years is another matter, and there are all sorts of theories about his behaviour these days but what I would say, all IMO, as an ex flying instructor and examiner, is that during his flying career he simply can't have been consistently "demonstrating seriously poor judgement/ lack of basic common sense" that's a good way of failing course(s) or even ending up dead.

You are, of course, absolutely correct about the flying and the obvious need for actual skill and comprehension to be able to carry it out. What is odd, though, is that it would seem that he wasn’t able to progress up the ranks in the army above Captain, allegedly due to his inability to pass the exam which is required after the rank of Captain. Maybe he could only apply himself to things he was really passionate about 🤷‍♀️

ill have to try and find the katie Nicholl interview.

I know people dislike internet diagnosis, but it’s not unusual for pilots and people in adrenaline seeking roles to be neurodivergent - and successful. They are able to study for exams and focus on the exciting, new or dopamine stimulating elements of the job. Where they may then struggle is the boring day to day routine, the paperwork, mandatory training, promotion away from frontline work. Add in self-medication with drugs and alcohol, the lack of scaffolding from school/the migs/the military and I don’t think it’s hard to see why the Harry of then isn’t the Harry of now.

I watched Katie's interview too and she was very emotional. I didn't realise she had been so seriously ill. Lot for her to deal with all at once. I hope she has the opportunity to take a complete break now and recuperate.

I would be interested in knowing if King Charles (as monarch) has any right in law to keep the children in the UK, if they came.

It's the kind of thing that there may actually be a law for, that is not generally used.

(Just musing - haven't looked it up.)

I once looked into this, @bluegreygreen, and apparently there was a "precedent" - not a law - going back to the 18th century which suggested the monarch had custody of royal children. However it seems it isn't considered valid any more, maybe because there's been no call to use it

That said, I wasn't thinking of what Harry may be legally entitled to do, more what he might do anyway, and since the RF have no real connection with his kids I really can't see them stepping in for Meghan's sake - nor indeed for Harry's unless his situation puts their own image at risk

As for Harry's intelligence, academic or otherwise, it may indeed be true that he's capable if someone else provides a framework for him to apply himself to, but in many ways that would be even worse. Given the opportunities he's had you'd hope a middle aged man might have developed a basic native wit and some idea of how to behave, but even that seems beyond him

As you said yourself, smilesy, I expect this ties in with a willingness to engage with something which would result in the excitement of flying, but not with the "boring stuff" of having to pass exams

And with any he may have needed to pass even to fly, it wouldn't have been the first time a royal's results had been fudged to secure what they wanted - see the allegations around his time at Eton, the royals' entrance to top unis and much more

bluegreygreen · 08/07/2026 10:35

Thanks @Puzzledandpissedoff.

I wasn't suggesting it should happen (as I hope you would know) - I was simply wondering if the law existed.

Tom Sykes has just announced his new book – this is the actual UK cover! 😂😂😂😂

I hope the rest of the book is more accurate than the cover, given that Edward VIII could in no way be considered the spare.

The 'spare' was George VI.

She has always been very pro HAM and RF. He put her through hell. Also worth noting, William said recently that it's very important Catherine avoids stress as much as she can now. HAM don't seem to care about the impact their behaviour has on other people

Just watched katie Nicholl, she was tearful, and still feels sorry for him. 🤷🏻‍♀️

off to watch it all if I can

Unlike his brother AFAIK H never jumped through the non-trivial hoops required to convert his military flying into a civilian licence when he was in the UK...no civvy licence, no passengers.

Getting a military to civilian transition will have got even more difficult when he got to the US (different regulator, UK CAA vs. US FAA).

Worse still flying licences and qualifications are perishable, the longer he (or anyone for that matter) is away from the controls the more the regulators require in the way of exams and flying check rides before the licence is renewed. By now Harry would have to pretty much start from scratch if he wanted to fly again.

That's a lot of hassle, needs a major commitment from the individual and if we're talking helicopters then it also costs lots of money.

it might just restrict some err, recreational activities......remember we're talking H here.

TBH over recent years I've increasingly suspected Harry had and has just about zero interest in aviating or aviation. ...My theory is he only did his Army flying to compete with his brother and only flew around for as long as the Army demanded he did so.

Then he dropped it.

Hence no pics of him flying the family around, and zero continued interest in the Legends of Aviation charity or whatever it is JT runs.

KimWexlersPonyTail · 08/07/2026 11:37

IIRC Meg bought him membership of some exclusive flying club when they moved to Cali. No pictures or mention if him flying since.

He never progressed his army career. He is lazy, entitled and has zero intellect. His emails to CG were damning

I feel sorry for the MIGS who have to rehabilitate his image if he's ever allowed back to RF post divorce

It’s possible, but I suspect not terribly likely?

But when the impartiality of the judges was questioned following the Brexit case the President of the Supteme Court, the Lord Chief Justice, the Bar Council and the Lord Chancellor all defended the institution. That was a highly political decision though - this one is not on that scale.

It’s also unthinkable it would be enforced these days. One of the primary obligations of teh Family Courts is to have regard to what is in the best interests of the children. A complete stranger taking effective custody from present and involved parents based on the line of succession would simply not fly (rightly so!).

That sounds like a nice plan but joining a club is a very different thing to getting qualified...wonder if H, M or even Marie Claire are aware.

I'd be daft to say he definitely hasn't got a US licence now but I'm not sure I've seen any mention of his name appearing on the FAA'a Airmans registry in any of the more specialist publications, and like others zero images.

If someone wants some fun this PM here's a link to the registry...many of the rich and famous are actually on there...

RF won't intervene. Post divorce, h will have very little involvement in those kids lives IMO
