HAM will see this as a win though. The amount of coverage they are getting is incredible.

They're loving this!

Someone's just suggested BLT on the People.com story that this could be a diversionary ruse and that MM and the kids will fly directly to Sandringham now from Sir Elton's gaff in Nice, which everyone knows is where they really are to see the King, Harry will join them, then the kids will stay there while she hotfoots it briefly to Birmingham on Friday. Nice idea in theory, and would solve a lot of issues but a) I just can't see Queen Cam saying yes to babysitting all week and b) no way could MM set foot in the UK early and not tell everyone.

Edited

Sandringham House is open to the public at the moment (until the RHS Flower show starts on July 19th) - although Uncle Andy might have a couple of spare rooms!

This is true - perhaps this is why the Sussexes have been in Portugal (in Eugenie's house) if she is waiting to give birth in Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace (opposite Nottingham Cottage where the Sussexes used to live)

Honestly, I think they're still in California. I think even Eugenie has distanced herself from them recently.

They've never had a problem getting 'coverage' though.

What they've been unable to do is to translate said 'coverage' into tangible gains for themselves. I don't see this as the exception to the rule.

BasiliskStare · Yesterday 20:25

I don't think H has got the will to bring A&L over and not take them back. Despite gossip , there is no sign of a divorce being on the cards. & I do hope there isn't.

I am minded to think M suspects all the security for the family is fine. I reckon she might be a wee bit nervous as to her reception , so that may be on her mind. I reckon we'll see her at the IG party , ( not with the children with KC, I hope there will be no photographs of that as QEII stipulated with Lily ) , but in very curated circumstances.

More and more I think this is Meghan Markle’s doing. He didn’t seem to worry too much about his security on his own account, why does he now think his wife and children are at so much risk? Bringing up two young children in an atmosphere of fear and paranoia is unhealthy and irresponsible.

Although he brought Meghan and the kids to the Jubilee in 2020 without this hysteria about security.

They won't, because MM is too aware and she'll know that BLT they are being ripped to shreds over the emotional blackmail. There is no way they can parlay the overriding hostility into cold hard cash, unless they do another Netflix-style doc about this visit, and I just don't think Netflix or any other major streamer will want it. Channel 5 might, for their 8pm naff Royal docs with even naffer commentators slot, but they won't pay the big bucks because they don't have any.

Well, exactly. They’re making themselves look a bigger pair of scurrilous halfwits than usual.
What good is it doing them?

IcedPurple · Yesterday 20:33

Lunde · Yesterday 20:27

Although he brought Meghan and the kids to the Jubilee in 2020 without this hysteria about security.

But Meghan wanted to wear couture and attend the fancy Jubilee events. So since she was coming, the kids could come too. Also, I have no doubt she was hoping for a 'Lilibet meets Lilibet' photo, and they flounced off when that was denied them.

The drama over 'security' may indeed be because Meghan does not want to come and is pretending it's because she's worried about 'security'. And she won't allow the children to travel without her. So Harry is getting his knickers in a twist trying to force RAVEC's hand to appease her. Not that he's above being a drama queen and all round arrogant little prat on his own behalf of course.

You could well be right, @BasiliskStare, and FWIW I hope you are

It's partly why I called this a potential risk, but people who feel tortured can do unusual things and if Harry isn't feeling that way someone should tell his face

Was the Columbia trip the one where they donated a drum? Or, knowing what a generous pair they are, it might have been a pair of drums?

I don’t think Meghan and the dc will come, I don’t think there was ever any chance that that was on the cards. What I do think is that they are probably delighted by the furore surrounding this trip. Never in their wildest dreams could they have predicted the level of press stupidity, um I mean press interest in this visit.

I can imagine them both, sat side by side at that uncomfortable looking marble table, laptops balancing on piles of The Bench, counting how many times they get a mention.

Yeah Columbia thought Archewell was going to be a big donor to projects there and laid out the red carpet - but ended up with a drum and £8k

IMHO not as bad as when the Sussexes visited the school with disadvantaged kids in Harlem - the school got a veg box, had to listen to Meghan read "The Bench" and then Harry and Meghan wanted each child to donate $5 to Archewell 🙄

Archewell seems to have gone totally dead these days

QC is 80 next July so I suppose we will have to go through the will they/ won’t they attend the party / dinner/ gala/ thanksgiving service or whatever else is planned .
Then in 2028 KC turns 80 …..

They wouldn't come to anything for Camilla. They MIGHT for Charles, although suspect it will be all the same let's make it all about H&M saga.

DaisyDooley · Yesterday 20:49

The thing that really annoys me is that none of this is necessary because there is no real reason that they need to come at all!
’one year to go’ 🙄ffs. Please don’t let that become a ‘thing’. It’s an event with approx 550 competitors. Yes, it’s sad they are injured service men but I would much much prefer to seethe £26 million we are giving being spent on housing our homeless servicemen & women! It’s an utterly nothing event.
Parkruns regularly get more than that and it’s weekly!!(The biggest got 6200 people!!)
One child? Is that the right name? Couldn’t he do a video call?
The Chelsea pensioners - really.??? Why? For what reason?
Visiting his family - well he needs to find family who want to see him before announcing he’s coming to see them. I can’t think of any member of the RF/Windsors who would be happy to see HAM and kids. They are not stupid -their loyalty is with the king & William.
Friends - he dumped most of them at the behest of Meghan. Family friends like the Van Cutsems, Grosvenors, the Van Straubenzees Tiggy Legge Bourke (sorry Tiggy if you are on here -can't remember your married name) both Tiggy and Emille VanC roundly scolded him when he did the OW interview -I suspect once he did Netflix/spare they cut off communication. Why wouldn’t they? The6 have been friends with the king for decades, their children are friends with William and their lives are intertwined with god children.
Im sure William will not have made anybody choose but it’s patently obvious that you cannot be friends with both. Theres too much at stake - HAM have flappy mouths . For example if they knew what cancer Catherine had they would hve leaked it.
Visiting Diana’s grave - seriously? Wouldn’t it be better to do that quietly without all of the stupid debacle? Does he think his mum would have approved? She would be appalled and furious.
It’s all so utterly unecessary, attention seeking and pathetic. I’m sick of him demanding bloody security at the cost of hundreds of thousands which, I know is a drop in the HMRC ocean -but it would pay for a few more nurses training wouldn’t it? Or some books at primary schools. Anything but spending it on them.

Prince Harry will NOT bring Meghan, Archie and Lilibet to London: Latest twist in Sussex saga as it emerges family may still visit Diana's grave

So HAM are now reportedly planning some kind of Addams Family grave outing. Maybe the new Spencer archaeology professor can make sure the grown-ups don’t dig up anything they shouldn’t.

Prince Harry will NOT bring Meghan and the children to London

The decision by the Sussexes - their children have not seen King Charles since 2022 - is the latest twist after ten days of fraught discussions which are said to have reduced Harry 'to tears'.

I think they will come, just not go near bad scary London.

Rhaidimiddim · Yesterday 22:07

OctopusFriend · Yesterday 19:42

It's not even an event! It's "a year to go". Such nonsense.

And supposedly the year-to-go thing is for the Patron to help drum up sponsorship. If you were a reputable company, would you be encouraged by this Patron's showing to hand over any part of your charity budget?

Invictus is dead.

Rhaidimiddim · Yesterday 22:10

OctopusFriend · Yesterday 19:46

Also, the King isn't at Sandringham, he's at Holyrood and on his way to Balmoral.

He was back in Windsor doing something yesterday. Busy man. Beggars belief that HAM can expect to snap their fingers and expect him to find them a slot. I really hope he does the 20-minute teas-and-biscuits thing again. In central London.

Rhaidimiddim · Yesterday 22:15

Someone was saying 10 years, then MM would do well under California law.

Or badly, if she is deemed the breadwinner and his inheritances are all gone.

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 22:16

I would love the palace to announce 'Unfortunately due to the delays in making arrangements the King's diary is now full for the next 4 weeks'.

Obviously not going to happen, but he really does deserve it.

Was he? As you say, it just shows you how busy KC is. Harry wouldn't have the first idea though. How on earth does he fill his days? Getting angry with everyone?
