BBC:

‘There remains a possibility that they will join Harry later in the week when the trip moves from London to the Midlands.’

So London is too dangerous….but Birmingham is safe?

WTF are they on?

😂

New blog post giving a different prediction on how all this will go. I'm not saying this is better informed than anything else, mind: I'm just interested in the stories being circulated

If Prince Harry returns to Britain with Meghan Markle and their children, he won’t be relying on local protection. Instead, sources tell Naughty But Nice he’ll arrive with what insiders are calling his own “army” of private security.

The Sussexes are expected to travel with a large close-protection team, with one insider estimating as many as 10 security officers rotating shifts to provide 24/7 coverage from the moment they land until they leave the U.K.

“This will be one of the biggest private security operations we’ve ever seen surrounding the Sussex family,” one source tells Naughty But Nice. “The team will be with them every minute they’re in Britain. Nothing is being left to chance.”

There’s one crucial difference, however. Unlike the armed police officers assigned to senior working royals, Harry’s privately hired bodyguards cannot carry firearms in the U.K., creating a very different level of protection.

“Harry has never stopped believing his family faces exceptional security threats,” another insider says. “He’s determined to protect Meghan and the children, regardless of the cost.”

🤔

What would happen if they were found to be armed ?

Did he actually use the term 'third world'? Isn't it 'developing countries' these days?

The only country they've visited which could be described as such is Nigeria, a country where every visiting businessman gets an armed escort. Usually privately paid rather than publicly funded. H&M probably did get police protection there, but I doubt it was 'Head of State' level.

To be fair @IcedPurple, he didn’t use that term , the outraged person who posted it and the video on Reddit did! , ship actually listed off the countries by name! He particularly laboured that Ukraine gave him the same level of protection as Zelenskyy.

How is some tabloid journalist in London privy to the exact security arrangements given to individuals in Ukraine? Sounds like rage baiting to me.

That is my question! , I doubt he would have come up with this off the top of his head in order to argue for Harry to receive the same level in the U.K. , I can only assume that he’s been fed this by Harry through Liam !
nobody else would think saddling countries with paying for his security on his vanity trips is a good idea apart from delusional Harry!

Hello all.
Another lurker
I think they're both daft as a brush
I believe there's a thirty bedroom house going empty!
I've got a mixed heritage family and it was tough forty years ago, now nobody gives a fig except middle aged white men.
I'd come home if I was them, take royal lodge ,stick a hat on and wave. Mrs M Windsor needs to toughen up. Take the money honey. The queen in waiting may not be your bestie but you're running out of options. Free security too, sorted.

nice to meet you episode 1 GIF

I think when all of this Sussex hoo ha is finally over -I’m going to have a punt at thread 869- we should all meet up.
We would know each other by the obligatory wearing of cheese hats.

What would happen if they were found to be armed ?

They'd be arrested for possession of a firearm in a public place, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession with intent to endanger life.

I think the children will meet KC. There , I've said it. But I hope the message from BP has been heard and it will be private.

I'd be more impressed if the kids, Harry and Meghan flew off to meet Thomas Markle. He's nearer to death's door than Charles, poor man.

He can always spend some quality time with the only family he hasn’t criticised!
andrew would probably like the company.

What's to say he won't, jeff - just so long as Andrew could pause his own whining long enough to sympathise with him?

As you say Andrew's about the only family member he's not trashed, and any port in a storm and all that

Yes, I’d like to think, as dim as he is, that even he would know not to try and do something as stupid as that.

Ham's security?

PR Disasters thread 20
Passingthrough123 · Yesterday 19:26

Someone's just suggested BLT on the People.com story that this could be a diversionary ruse and that MM and the kids will fly directly to Sandringham now from Sir Elton's gaff in Nice, which everyone knows is where they really are to see the King, Harry will join them, then the kids will stay there while she hotfoots it briefly to Birmingham on Friday. Nice idea in theory, and would solve a lot of issues but a) I just can't see Queen Cam saying yes to babysitting all week and b) no way could MM set foot in the UK early and not tell everyone.

I think that is fair . I don't like to say it , but unless there is something none are privy to , it does look like TM doesn't have anything to give, so not a priority. It does sound like they didn't support him properly during the run up to the wedding. From various sources he supported her through school and university. I am sure he is not perfect. None of us are. but they didn't really seem to try terribly hard even with HLMTQ suggesting they did. Ach I don't know. But if H wants his children to meet his family so much , and can't be arsed to take a much shorter trip to meet "other grandpa" I just wonder -Occam's razor. If H&M want their children to know their heritage , why wouldn't that work on both sides. (I know they embraced - metaphorically - Doria ) but I do sometimes wonder if TM was excluded because - optics (wedding) don't like the word but a shorthand, and he's done some silly stuff , but he's still their grandpa as much as KC3 is. Just poorer and less useful . I don't know.

And to think AMW was a huge embarrassment to the RF. H is off the scale

Sandringham is far too close to Amner House .

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · Yesterday 19:31

They must be raging, turning themselves inside out to explain how the UK is an unsafe place for them to be without the armed guard they thought they could blackmail the uk govt into…… but they’ll still go to Birmingham without it and take the kids there because that’s from where they will also do a short trip to Diana’s grave to take the big bucks pic of the kids and MM weeping over a woman they never knew.

I very much doubt they are being hosted by Elton John. He's in poor health and could do without these chancers sponging off him. Besides, other than through the various media court cases, I don't think he's had any contact with the Sussexes for years. No invites to his Oscars after parties for one thing.

Thedom · Yesterday 19:34

There are millions of people living very safely in London, I lived there, happily and safely, for many years with my family. There are millions of visitors who come every year safely.

I, like many other parents, am (proudly) sending my 18yo to University in London, very far from home.

Thousands of high profile celebs, ,including Royals, walk around London streets safely every year.

But here is Harry, trying to make out London is a terrorist hotbed. How disloyal can one person be to their home country. Harry has to be the most out of touch Royal Family member since his uncle Andrew.

JoanChitty · Yesterday 19:35

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the pair of them are neither use nor ornament. As for deciding to come back as working royals, I believe that door is well and truly closed.

I came on to say much the same thing . I suspect they have been in Monteshitshow all the time .
I don’t know anything about US school terms but would Archie not be at school ?

Re KC3's legacy -

It's a bit early to talk about legacy 4 years into a reign.

Charles has the misfortune of coming to the throne late in life after the longest reigning monarch, so much of his legacy, when it's considered later, will most likely consist of things he has already completed or established - such as the King's Foundation (35 years to date).

Totally this. Nobody, but nobody is going to want them cutting a ribbon to a new leisure centre in Scunthorpe. And I say that as someone who lives in Scunthorpe!
